Disneyland Express or Super shuttle

Have done express, where you have to wait at certain time at airport, then go to Disney Hotel to pay, then go to hotel.

Seemed time consuming.

How does the supershuttle work ?

Do you find a shuttle at airport, and they take you directly to your hotel ?

And, to get back to airport , does the supershuttle pick you up at your hotel?

Thanks !

For the Super Shuttle, you can pay at the airport or pre-pay when you make a reservation. The shuttle will take you to your hotel with other stops along the way being likely. We took it last time and ended up dropping someone off at their home before getting to the Anaheim area. Thankfully, we were the first hotel stop. I don't envision us using it again. On the way back, they will give you a time frame during which your pick up will occur. Again, it is possible that you won't go directly to the airport, but will pick up other passengers along the way.

I have used Super shuttle twice and Disneyland Express once (all from LAX). Personally I would choose SS over DLE unless the there was a huge price difference.

Both times I have used SS we have got into a shuttle within 5 minutes of talking to the SS guy outside the airport and it never took more than 45-50 minutes to get to our hotel. The first time there were 3 of us and we were the 2nd stop and the second time there were 6 of use and we were the 1st stop).

For the return trips, the shuttle was always at the hotel when they said they would be and again it never took more than 45-50 minutes to get us to the airport.

I used DLE when they had a deal were everyone paid the kids price. It was a good deal but it took longer than SS. We had to wait for the bus at our stop, wait for the bus to pick up people at 3-4 other stops, and wait at the DLH while they took people's money and vouchers before we finally got dropped off at our hotel. All together I think it took around 90 minutes.

On the way back they picked us up at the hotel and then we had to go back to the DLH and transfer over to the airport bus.

I've used both, and have had good and bad experiences on both. I would use either one of them again.

Biggest piece of advice from me is to follow their time suggestions for the trip back to the airport. I was the first on SS once...we spent an HOUR going up and down Harbor and Katella picking people up, and the last stop was actually at the hotel where I'd been picked up, and only then did we get on the road to the airport. We were totally on time for the airport, but that was a long hour in the van in Anaheim! :)

As I travel with an ECV, I have found that the Disneyland Express does not work. They only have one or two buses which are lift equipped and even with a reservation one of them may not be available (this happened to me once).

Super Shuttle does have accessible vans and if you reserve one you will get one (or at least I have never had one not show up).

We usually use Super Shuttle, but our last experience was pretty bad. (Van driver was driving very erratically, even TEXTING WHILE DRIVING!! I contacted customer service and they were unconcerned and a little rude even.)

We decided this trip we are going to try a competitor. I checked Yelp and it looks like the similar company with the best reviews is Shuttle2LAX (http://shuttletolax.com), so that is what we are going to try this time.

Not traveling until late August, so I will have to let you know how it goes.

Funny, We (me, DW, DD and DS)just had our first and probably last experience with Supershuttle.
Very similar to previous posts. We got picked up at the Hojo, it was stinkin hot in the van drove into anaheim to do a pickup, then back onto katella for a pickup at GCH, then over to the Hyatt for a pickup. We wasted an hour in a hot van that had very poor AC with the driver having his window open.

We got to the airport on time, but that was because the girl a the front desk booked it 4 hours before our flight, so we got there in time to have a little lunch before our flight, not as much time as i hoped for, but enough to pick something up.

Anyways, during the ride the driver would be talking on his bluetooth , then I saw him texting and then snacking etc, and then texting again while we were on the I-5.

My DW complained about the heat and he said, oh you should have told me earlier, I would have switched places for you, but that wasn't going to help because it was a full van where the other riders seemed to be suffering as much as we were.

note the quotes we got were
16/ person for supershuttle = 64 bucks
90 for a taxi - flat rate
100 for a town car..
We will seriously think about taking a taxi or towncar next time.

our trip to the hotel was by taxi from SNA and that was flat rate of 40 bucks . much better than a shuttle, no stops. especially if you are travelling with a group of 4 or more. I know it's much more economical to do the supershuttle if you are a single rider.

We had a very similar bad experience with the SS as several of the OPs. We had prepaid with our reservation and were so unhappy with the trip from the airport that we decided to take a taxi back to the airport. We got a nice cab driver and spent like $40. If we hadn't gotten a discount for the Disneyland Express next month then we would be taking a taxi this year too.

Hmm.. DL Express was going to be just under $60 for us round trip. Just getting a cab for $80 round trip might be the best $20 I can spend!!!

We've always had very good luck with the Disneyland express. We've used it for the last two years and will be using it again this year. :)
