Disneyland Divas: Working out, getting healthy and thin in 2010!!

Made a batch of a WW Oatmeal Raisin cookies last night...very tasty but still 2 points a piece so not something I will be making too often. Brought most of them into work today.

Sarah

Mmmm. . . oatmeal raisin cookies are my favorite. . . :love::love:

Today is the first day where I have started to feel deprived. This diet is pretty strict, and outside of my 1 banana a day (which I get for potassium purposes), am not allowed any other fruit or sugar. Basically I get to have lean meat, eggs, and veggies, and that's it. Oh, except for the lovely GUM! Bleh!

I want a COOKIE!!! (sulks away into the kitchen to get her banana).

Um, Sorry. So I guess I shouldn't post that recipe as the recipe of the day.

Sarah

Well, I had chicken for lunch, grapes for snack, and now I'm eating smoked oysters. Why am I eating smoked oysters you ask? Because I was getting really hungry and I didn't know what else to eat that wasn't a bad carb. And boy oh boy did I ever want to eat some bad carbs. But instead, in my fuzzy-minded desperation mode, I snatched that can of smoked oysters and a toothpick to eat them with and just started digging in. Yeah, they're just as good as chips or cookies or bread or cereal or crackers. NOT! :headache:

I just did the same thing with dill pickles!

I STILL WANT A COOKIE!!!! :headache::mad::headache:

Worst thing -- I have to bake 2 cakes tonight for my kids' cake decorating class tomorrow. Think I'll pay my 12 year old to do it and then go hide in my room and cry.

And now for the RECIPE of the DAY!

Grape Chicken Caesar Wraps

Ingredients:
1 large Low Carb Whole Wheat tortilla (like la tortilla factory)
1 cup shredded romaine lettuce
1/2 cup halved seedless grapes
2 oz sliced, grilled, skinless, boneless chicken breast
1 Tbsp Low Fat caesar dressing
1 Tbsp shredded parmesan cheese

Directions:
Place tortilla on flat surface. Arrange lettuce, grapes and chicken along the center of tortilla about 2" from top and bottom edge; drizzle with dressing and sprinkle with cheese. Fold outer edges inward over filling to enclose; place seam-side down. Enjoy. This comes to approxamately 6 points with WW.

This is one of my dh and my all time favorites. It is super easy and delish!

Yes, as a matter of fact, I will single-handedly keep this thread at the top for the foregoing reasons:

1. I miss my honey and am bored

2. I'm avoiding the cake smell wafting form the kitchen

3. I need to tell someone what I've been eating so they can feel as sorry for me as I do for myself

4. I'm secretly hoping someone will send me a cookie

5. I'm tired of reading boring "bra color" statuses on facebook.

So, y'all ready to hear what I made for dinner? I bet you are! :thumbsup2

Chopped up 3.5 oz of chicken breast and sauteed in a pan with onion and seasonings, I added a small can of green chilis and poured it over the top of a bed of cabbage. Sounds delicious, no? :confused3:sad2:

I skyped with Dan tonight and watched him eat a fresh orange that he picked off our tree. He said it was sweeter than candy. TORTURE PEOPLE!!
I'm drooling over the idea of fruit. Just think about what a monte cristo will do to me. :hyper::faint::smokin:

Is it February 25th yet???

I would kill for a cookie right now! I thought about them the whole time I was on my walk today.

Here's my food log gor today:
Banana for breakfast
Orange for a snack
Bowl of Special K Blueberry for lunch
Light string cheese for a snack
Grilled chicken breast, baked sweet potato and steamed broccoli for dinner

I also drank by 96oz of water, so I'm feeling pretty good.
But I seriously want that cookie!

Sorry folks, all the cookies are gone thanks to my co workers. I went to the gym after work tonight and did 50 minutes (including warm up and cool down) on the eliptical. My heart rate was around 150 ot 155 for most of the time which is ok but my dh says I need to get it up to the 165-175 range:scared1: yeah, right.

Should we move on to underwear now? :confused3

You are all doing great!!! Be proud. Think how great you will look and feel. It's not easy, but it is worth it. Keep on keeping on ladies!!!!!! :cheer2:

Good morning and TGIF ladies!

Boy do I know how much it sucks to eat well, and less, that is why I think it is VERY important to find good and healthy things to eat but NOT to make yourself feel deprived in any way. That always seems to lead to binges in my book. I have always eaten pretty much whatever I wanted but just cut WAY back on portion sizes etc and always managed to lose.

I wouldn't completely do away with sweets I would just eat LESS or find substitutes like fruit or sugar free/fat free stuff if possible. Healthy choice and WW makes great desert stuff. Or like I said I buy the dove dark chocolate pieces and eat one or two every so often when I have a craving and that little bit won't hurt you and it REALly helps and then if you DO eat a little too much just add a little extra to your workout to burn it off. :)

I did my kick boxing workout yesterday and I am still pretty weak and sore but I did it none the less. My eating started out ok but wasn't NEARLY as good as it should have been. I had my oatmeal for breakfast but then I was doing taxes for several hours and ended up not getting lunch till almost 2 and had a taco from taco bell. Then for dinner we went to moms and I had a pig in a blanket (steak with bacon) and some green beans and a small serving of mashed potatoes. Then we had a brownie with a little ice cream for desert.

NOT the best day for eating. I DID show a 1 lb loss yesterday but I prob gained it all back with just my crappy eating yesterday LOL. But as I always say today is a new day. I plan to workout here in a few after I take the girls to school and then go in to work. THAT can be a challenge cuz mom and I always go out for lunch but I have been forcing her to go to healthier places like the salad bar. So hopefully we will do that again today!! :)

Anyway keep up the good work everyone! You are all doing awesome and don't get discouraged. Like Beth said it is SO worth the final outcome and you will look and FEEL amazing in the end!!! :)

So far this week I've lost 6 pounds. That's the good news.

The bad news is:
1. We are going out all weekend and I am sure to gain it all back. lol
2. I gained like 15 pounds back over the holidays so this is not additional weight loss, but rather me just trying to get back to a spot I was already at.

Oh well. I did go shopping last night and stocked up on healthy items for Monday so I can get right back on track!!

Have a wonderful weekend ladies!!! Make conscientious choices. If you do splurge let it be on something you really want and make it worthwhile, not just mindless eating, kwim?
Keep up with the water and exercise. And remember, you can do this!!! :cheer2: :cheer2:

I won't around much until Monday so see ya then!

Kelly, you're preaching to the choir for me. Normally I would say the exact same thing. I have done really well in the past by just cutting back on portion sizes and upping my exercise. The diet I am doing is specifically to lose the most weight in 3 weeks so I don't feel like a beached whale in Maui. I understand it's self-torture, but it's what it takes for my body to lose weight quickly. Otherwise I end up losing 1 pound a week (which I know is much healthier), but I need to lose 15-20 lbs, not 3. After I get back from Maui I'll be off this ridiculous diet and back to eating healthier.

I lost another pound this morning which brings my total to 6.5 lbs since Monday. :goodvibes

Hope you all have a happy and healthy day.

I haven't had anything to eat yet today, but I am on my third diet Pepsi for a little vavavavooom kick start. :)

Not sure what is planned for the menu today. I guess we'll find out. I do know I have lots of homework though, so at least I'm not completely drawing a blank. BLAH!

I weighed myself on Monday, but I like my wi day to be Friday, so I weighed myself this morning. So on the first (shortened) week of the new me, I lost 5 pounds! I'm pretty thrilled, because aunt flo paid me a visit this morning, and I usually eat like a mad woman during the week leading up to her visit.

I'm not too happy with the past couple of days. My eating was fine, but I really need to fit in some exercise. I have no excuses tomorrow, so I'll definitely be going for a jog. :thumbsup2

I hope everyone is having a healthy and great day! :goodvibes

Hang in there!! :)

oh I hear ya...started the week good, but ended it ho hum. Didn't help with the Magicale and huge cupcake last night. Although I didn't eat the whole thing :) I was running errands after my dentist appt today and ended up using my Coffee Bean gift card and got a lovely blended drink and skipped lunch. :scared1: ...but worth every yummy sip! I also haven't had time to excercise for the last 2 days. Oh well....I will put it behind me and move forward, no sense dwelling on it. Off to finish my water and have a tangerine.

I've done good so far this week, the scale says 5 pounds less than it did on Monday, so my goal of 10 lost by our trip looks like a reality, as long as I don't mess up.

Christine and I cooked today, I do the "cook for a month" kind of thing. I think we made about 12 meals, and have about 4 more to do tomorrow. I love having the stuff in the freezer. It's not REAL healthy, but not REAL bad either. I just try to eat less and have a big salad with dinner. Tonight I'm going out to dinner with some girlfriends so that's always hard...

Hope everyone has a great weekend, and gets lots of exercise!! I know I won't so you all have to make up for me! ;)

I think it's a great idea to make your meals ahead of time. Even if they aren't totally "diet" food, they've got to be much better than what you'd eat if you didn't have a plan. I know that when I plan out meals, I do pretty good. But when I don't, we end up eating out, which costs more money and is really difficult to keep healthy.

I feel like I've been doing well today, and trying to eat a little something every 2-3 hours is working for me.
So my food log for the day is:
Special K Blueberry
Banana
String Cheese
4 stalks of celery with 2 heaping tablespoons of peanutbutter

I went to the store and bought a steak to grill tonight, and I'll sautee up some onions and mushrooms to go with it. We'll also have a big salad and probably baked sweet potatoes again. (they were really yummy last night!)

Hi all...sounds like everyone is having some decent results...keep up the good work ladies! I am doing pretty well today. My work out went well and my eating has been ok. I had a couple points I hadn't planned on but it will work out since I still have lots of weekly allowance points left for the week and no big plans. DH is cooking dinner tonight so that is nice. I am going to try to work out tomorrow since I know I won't have an opportunity to get to the gym Sunday since I am working 8-4 and the kids have swim lessons in the next town over at 440! I think my body could use that break though. 5 days a week is enough for me! Don't forget to drink your water!

Sarah

Daily food log:

Eggs (surprised???) with brussell sprouts and mushrooms
Banana
Carrots and Celery wrapped up in turkey breast with mustard
Ate the tomatoes, onions and pickles off my dd's hamburger at Wendy's.
Chicken, onions, celery and mushrooms over a bed of mashed cauliflower (surprisingly tasty, but I'm still hungry).
Now the cake is calling my name. But I'm not answering it - NO how NO way!

Congrats to everyone on the awesome weight loss #'s this week!
