Disneyland Divas: Working out, getting healthy and thin in 2010!!

Sounds yummy! I have had a chewy granola bar, a cheese stick and part of a can of tomato vegetable soup that was awful. I am getting pizza after I weigh it! I love it when I have a bunch of extra points at the end of the day and can get something tasty without feeling guilty! In case anyone is wondering. 1 Little Ceasars hot and ready pepperoni pizza is about 50 points total. Divide those amongst the number of slices and it comes out to 5 to 7 points a slice! Very doable!

Sarah

Well that is good to know. I'm not a big pizza lover, but its still good to know. I have a neat book my endocrinologist gave me that lists all the fast food places and what is best to order....if you are eating there. I'm not a big fast fooder for the most part, but I did learn about the Taco Bell Fresco menu and it is really good too :) Thanks for sharing the WW tidbits with us :)

I did pretty good today, had my heart healthy bowl of cheerios with non fat milk and a small banana, 2 tangerines mid morning, a tuna fish sandwich with a dab of lite mayo and small handfull of plain chips, 2 buck eye balls that were begging me to eat them and for dinner the family was having bratwursts, but Beau wanted to use his subway gift card so I had him pick me up a 6" turkey w/ mustard, lettuce, tomatoe, salt & pepper. I've had water all day long and did a dance cardio video this morning. I'm already feeling the effects of that, so I'm thinking I'll be feeling it when I climb out of bed tomorrow.

Good luck to those weighing in! :woohoo:
Keep up the good work girls.....we're all in this together....sing it with me!!
:yay::banana::worship::woohoo::cool1: (these are my workout friends ;)

Hey all, just got back from my weigh in and I was up one pound. I am not surpirsed and I know it will be gone next week. I had my pizza and enjoyed it and will be drinking more water tonight. I hope everyone is staying on track. The first month is the hardest...we just have to stick with it through this month and it will get so much easier! We can do this!

Sarah

Sarah, When you first started WW did you feel hungry all the time? I don't know if I'm not eating enough filling foods or if it's just because I'm used to stuffing myself to the point of needing stretchy pants:)

I've done very well today. Drinking only water and I took my lunch to work which works very well. I had a Mediterranean chicken sandwich on WW whole wheat, yogurt and a mandarin orange. For dinner I had a tuna sandwich with dill pickles and lots of romaine lettuce. Once the kids go to bed I'll pop some popcorn.

Tina, I do the same thing. And did it today. I was starving by the time dinner came around and ended up WAY overeating. Like cleaning out the fridge overeating. Dang.

Ah well. Tomorrow will be better.

Jen, yay, you're here!!

It takes a bit to figure out what foods work for you to make you feel full while still being within your points. Also you are focused on food right now and once you can just eat what you are supposed to eat and focus on other things like cleaning your house or crocheting or playing with the kids things get easier...plus I eat a little bit every couple hours and that has helped shrink my stomach...I used to eat 1/2 a pizza and still have room now I can only eat 2-3 pieces and I feel completely satisfied! You have to commit to this ladies. This isn't a joke it's our lives. It's important. It's more important than that piece of cake or that fast food burger. Pop the gum and feel better about yourself...you can do it!

Sarah

I made myself a salad with a bbq chicken breast to take for my lunch tomorrow. I usually end up picking when I'm cooking, so I hope this helps me tomorrow.
Also, I drank 96 oz of water today, which is my daily goal for myself, so I at least feel pretty good about that.

That is so true! I started realizing that if there is that much fat that I can see, how much more there must be inside surrounding all my internal organs and I started worrying that they would stop working as well as they should. So it became a matter of health mostly. I try not to go more than 3 hours without eating and then eat 100-200 calories at a time. It keeps your metabolism burning so you won't store calories as fat.

Welcome to Jackie!

I think my problem is that I wait too long to eat, so then I over-eat. I tried to start the day off right with some cereal, but then I started working and just picked as I was cooking. !

Yeah, it's important to eat at regular times. I know this is hard for you because your job is cooking - but don't buy the bad stuff! Don't bring it into your house.

I have that book too. It's called Eat This Not That. It also has chain restaurants like Outback. Really eye-opening when you see what dish has more calories than you should eat in a day!

That's great, Sarah. I know it will be gone too.

Jen, you are our cardio queen, so get back on that horse! :yay::cheer2:

My trainer texted me that he's sick (first time in over a year), so I am off from my WI tomorrow! But duh, it's still my body. I've been to the gym daily but found when I go daily I cannot do 50 min on the elliptical, but 30-35. So then you wonder, is it better to go every other day and do 55-60 or every day and do 30? I'm guessing daily.

Can I hop on this train ????

You ladies have inspired me ! I am committed to dropping 20 pounds over the next 12 months. The weight has been creeping on and I am vowing to get rid of it once and for all. We are heading to Vegas next month and then to Arizona and I would LOVE to be a few pounds lighter. I live in Montreal and usually spend the winter hiding under sweaters and down parkas. :rotfl:

I work out 5 days a week (Aerobics - diff style class each day) and I am still putting pounds on :confused3:confused3:confused3: I am actually going to the doctor on the 26th to have complete blood work done and to check my thyroid.

I am a sugar addict....I also love all white carbs...but...they don't love me.

Today I have had a nectarine, FF yogurt with all bran buds mixed in and 1 litre of water.

Hope you all a great day filled with fruit, water and the occasional piece of chocolate.

Kim:)

Good morning and happy hump day all!

Jen it's great to see you! I think we have ALL let things slide but it is a new year and to time to be the new "you" meaning all of us! I KNOW you will do great because you are ALWAYS an inspiration to all of us. I am sure you will be right back to your same old healthy energetic self in no time! :)

Sara keep up the good work. You know all the tricks and I know you will be right back to losing in no time!

Welcome to our new friends and good luck to you!!

I was pretty sore yesterday after my workout but LUCKILY I knew better than to push too hard and hurt myself as I have done that in the past and then couldn't continue the next day. I know now to build up to it so I am not as sore today! Last night I had about a 1/2 cup serving of the carne asada, 1 cup of plain steamed spinach and 1 cup of pinto beans.

Then I did have about 1/4 cup of my non fat yogurt for desert.

Today I plan on doing another cardio tape. So we shall see. So far my scale is staying the same and although I would LOVE to see it go down by monday I know that the last few times I went on a diet it took a few weeks before the weight started to come off. SOOO we shall see.

I am just so glad to have this site to go through this with you all. You are right it really helps to have others to share your journey with.

Have a GREAT day everyone and good luck on your eating and exercise! :)

Just a morning quickie from me!

I pick too when I'm preparing the kids food. This is when the gum trick works for me. Strong, peppermint gum. That way you don't want to sample anything.

Welcome Kim!! We love new members. Keeps the motivation going. :) You'll be coming to my stomping grounds (Vegas). :)

Have a healthy day ladies!!! :cheer2:

Hey girls! And welcome to all the new ladies to the thread. This is fun!

Yesterday I did good with my eating, except I totally over ate at lunch and I was so stinkin' full. And for dessert last night I had a small bowl of Honey Bunches of Oats!

Today I need to focus on drinking my water, yesterday I didn't do too good in that department.

Hi all, I am doing well so far today. I am on my third bottle of water and I brought a cheesestick, apple and lean pocket for work today. Tonight we are havinig the ww pumpkin pie pancakes which are delish! I will be going to the gym after work today and my mom will be meeting me there so that will be nice...I think my husband will be meeting me there too!

Hope you all have a great on plan day!

Sarah

I'd like to join you all if I may!

I'm halfway through my second 1.5 pt bottle of water (yay for work, supplying free spring water!) and I am going to have yogurt & pineapples for lunch in just a few minutes here. Had an orange for breakfast, a big ol' navel, and then discovered I was out of my healthy snacky stuff that I usually keep in my office :guilty: so I had about a cup of Cheerios for "elevensies". Eating more than three times a day is hard!!

I've lost 16 lbs so far, and am working really hard on my food intake and exercise to lose another 49 lbs, which will put my BMI within the "acceptable" range to be a live liver donor for my mom! :thumbsup2

Good Morning Ladies! Just a quick weight check-in from me this morning.

I lost an additional 2.5 lbs, for a total of 5.5 lbs so far! I love the instant weight loss on this plan it really gives me the encouragement to stick with it. Now since I'm at 173, I know I'll be able to make it into the 160's for sure by Maui time!

Woo Hoo!

My personal chef (dh) is gone for the next 3 days, so I'm planning on stocking up on snacky type veggies, lunch meat and a rotisserie chicken. That should hold me over until he gets back!

TTFN!

Hi guys!

I thought I'd pop in over here to let you know that I signed up for the 2010 Disneyland Half Marathon.

For the last 4 years I have wanted to do this but I keep making excuses or things get in the way but I have decided that 2010 is my year meaning I'm doing things for ME!

I just paid the fee ($120) and they don't offer refunds so I can't back out now.:rotfl:

I am not a runner at all, in fact I really don't like it :rotfl: but I've got months to train and I know I can do it.

Kim, welcome! Great that you're getting your thyroid checked. If you google hypo-thyroid, you'll see a lot of regular mds overlook these numbers unless they are outrageous.

Moto-x, Jen is our marathon expert. She'll have a lot of advice once she's done traveling.

Thanks I'll definitely have to talk to her. I'm going to look online for a training program because I don't even know where to start besides just going and trying to run but i want something to help me build up distance gradually.

Wow! Good luck with that!

Sarah

Thanks! You have to maintain a 16 minute mile pace to finish under the 3 1/2 hour time limit. DBF says that a 16 minute mile is no prob but I'm not sure. They have a class for walkers so I think I'll be able to finsh in time.
