Disneyland Divas: Working out, getting healthy and thin in 2010!!

Hi Gals!

Sarah, I agree. You are amazing and I do hope that you are going to reward yourself in a huge way when you hit that 100 pound mark. Wow!

Good Job getting back on track Beth. Jen, I hope that job pans out for you. Sounds so fun, running up the stairs of the castle and all.

Hi ladies!
Sorry I haven't been around, I've been neglecting the boards altogether.
I was up last week and I know why: lack of water intake, not tracking, not exercising and eating too much peach cobbler at the cowboy festival.

I've been pretty much on track this week and today was my 3rd day of exercise. Tomorrow I'll be going to the parks. I'm going to find the 5k route of DL/DCA and walk it tomorrow. I love going to the parks so it won't feel like a work out to me.

I hope everyone else is having success and staying motivated.

Adios Chicas!

I have been doing well this week. I did Week 3 day 2 of the C25K at the gym today as well as my strength training circuit. I will have Glenn make me up a new ST routine soon as I have been doing this one for a while now. I need to go drink more water.

Hello ladies!
Hope you all had a good weekend. I went out to lunch with Jane at California Pizza Kitchen on Sunday but only ate half my pizza so that wasn't too bad. I did order a raspberry lemonade and got a refill on it, so that probably had lots of sugar. I should've stuck to water or a diet drink, but oh well.

I'm still at it. I'm staying away from the scale and trying to go more by what my clothes are telling me. So far they are telling me I haven't lost a pound. LOL But that's okay, I'm eating better and I know they will feel looser eventually. :)

Hi!

I started training for the Disneyland Half Marathon on Friday. On Friday and Saturday I jogged/power walked 3 miles each day and on Sunday I did 3.5 miles. My legs are very sore. :rotfl:

My pace was just under 14 minutes per mile so I am already below the 16 minute mile pace that is required. I know as I keep training I will be able to run more and walk less so my pace will come down even more.

I set a goal for my self to do 200 miles by September 5th. That's about 12.5 miles per week.

Cristabel: If you count your points and don't go over, it will work! Just keep doing it even when you aren't motivated. Motivation comes and goes, that's why it's nice to have a program to keep focused. From facebook seems you've been exercising a great deal. Great job! :thumbsup2 Do you still need any music suggestions? Have you also tried podcasts?

Great job Beth! :thumbsup2
I definitely recommend weighing yourself as it does help to keep you accountable and to see progress. And if I were you I wouldn't be scared of the scale. As I remember, you lose a lot of weight fast when you are on program. The only reason to stay off the scale is if you aren't staying on program and you don't want to face that. Otherwise, you've already faced that first baseline number. It all gets better from here!

I stepped on the scale the other day. Decided to get a baseline, even if it is in kilos. Read "ERROR." Tried again. "ERROR." Again. "ERROR." I don't think this is a good sign.

I'm so jealous. I really had a wonderful time training for and running the DL 1/2 last year.

Do you have a running training program? I think Hal Higdins is pretty good starter one, though there are other good ones out there as well.

What training program are you following?

Hi Tracey! Thanks for the good wishes on the job front. Seemed like the interview went well, but to be honest, I've given up on my ability to assess. I keep thinking the interviews go fine and I keep not getting called back. Chin up. Shoulders back. And keep moving forward.

I feel pretty good about my eating lately. I've really been alot better with my eating and tracking. And I went to the gym yesterday for strength training and 25 minutes of cardio and then today I didn't want to go. I got myself to the gym and just did low intensity elliptical. After about 25 minutes I started gettting into it. The podcast I was listening to was getting my spirits up and the endorphins from exercising started kicking in and before I knew it I had exercised for 65 minutes! Woohoo!

And for the QUOTE OF THE DAY
To get through the hardest journey we need take only one step at a time, but we must keep on stepping.

Hi girls!
I'm still maintaining, but I am trying to amp up the exercise to start losing again.
My new goal is to lose 10 pounds by July 30. There it is in print, ladies.

I'm not following any kind of training program yet. I will give this one a look, Thanks.

I made it to my first 15 pound loss! Now just 15 more for my first goal. I'm not sure I can go much below that, which will put me at 140. That's my goal for July 16, which is the day we leave for WDW!!

I definitely notice a difference, my pants are fitting a lot better! Now if I can just shrink my chest a little bit so the shirts don't gap!!

Hope everyone is having a good week!

Jen, Tina, Stacie and Sarah, keep up the great work!! :cheer2:
Welcome superme80!

Jen, I did weigh in last week to get a starting point and then I was weighed today at the doctors. So it wasn't my choice but it ended up being a good thing because I saw that I lost 8 pounds. :cool1:
I always lose a lot the first week back on track, and of course this is just weight that I am RE-losing, but still. It was nice to see. :goodvibes

The bad thing was my blood pressure is really high. To quote my doctor it's "nuts". So she started me on medication to help lower it. And I need to watch my sodium intake, and walk a couple times a week. Although she said I could get really thin, and it could still be high. It just happens sometimes. :confused3

Anyway, I'm going to do my best to shed more weight and walk daily. It freaked me out seeing those high numbers. :sad2:

So I went to my weigh in and the result was.......I am as close as I can possibly be to 100 gone without being there. I lost 2.4 for a total of 99.8 lbs gone.....next week....next week...

Hope all are doing well!

You too!! Of course it will be gone next week!

Why is it that you can work your butt off to lose 1 pound in 1 week and then you go out for Mexican food and gain 1 pound in 1 meal?!? Just not fair!!

That's 60 sticks of butter GONE. Bye bye!

Can I join in?

Welcome!:cheer2:

Congrats on the weight loss and being back on track! :woohoo:

Glad you have the information on the high blood pressure so you can take action and reverse this before it's a problem. You can do it girl! You are worth it! And you know how to lose weight!

Here's some pixie dust to help you do what you know how to do. :wizard:

Ah, gheesh...couldn't you have taken off your ring or something? Or did have hair tie you could have removed?

CONGRATULATIONS SARAH!!!! 99.8 lbs. is AWESOME! You are AWESOME! And just think of it this way, you will weigh less next week because of it than you would have if you reached 100 lbs today.

Yesterday was pretty good. Didn't exercise, but ate OK. Ate a bit of my son's cream pasta at a restaurant which was not so good. Today am hoping to make it to gym again for strength training.

Have a great day!

Hi ladies!
I forgot to check in on Monday night. I had a great loss of -3.2lbs. I'm down 16.2 and 9.8 from my 10% goal!

Jen, I have really kicked up the exercise because I know it will save me in the end. Even if I do go over points, exercising super hard that day always helps. I've gone over my points yesterday AND today but its been with protein and veggies which is good. I think I will start the simply filling plan during the summer, a lot easier since I'll be busy.

I have an interview on Friday with Six Flags Magic Mountain in the HR dept. I hope I get the position!

Yesterday I went to the gym at 9:45am! That is unheard of for me but I had promised to meet a friend and knowing I made a commitment to someone made me get up and go. I worked out about 30 minutes but it was a good one.

Today I walked for 30 minutes and did the bleachers/stairs in the the soccer stadium twice (OMG) and then did the rest on the softball stadium which is smaller. I'm sore but I LOVE it!

I don't want to work out tomorrow but I feel I MUST because I do have time to fit it in. I think I'll do it in the morning to just get it over with!

I hope everyone else is having a good week.

Sarah - CONGRATS. You are SOOOO close!

Good Morning!

On Monday evening DBF and rode our bikes around town for about an hour and last night we went jogging on the aquduct for about 45 minutes. I'm not sure how far we went, I need to look on mapquest or something and figure it out since I can;t just drive it in my car.

I saw this think that Nike makes and you put it on your shoe and it tracks your miles. It can be hooked up to an iPhone also. I'm not sure exactly how it works but it's only $20 so I'm going to order one on Friday. I was looking on the website and there are contests for how many miles you think you can run in a week, month, etc and you upload your data from the shoe thing so it's really accurate.

Have a great day!

So, is everyone doing weightwatchers? Or are some of you doing some other type of things?

Just met with my doctor today and have a good initial plan.

Nothing for me. Just eating less, and a little better, and exercising more. I have an elliptical machine and a soloflex machine. I do 30 minutes on the elliptical 5-7 days a week and 30 minutes on the soloflex 3 days a week. The soloflex guide came with a pretty good routine that works my arms, abs and legs each time, with a little bit different exercises.
