Disneyland Divas working out, getting healthy, and looking fine in '09!!

Wendy? Lady like?? HA!
And I'm definitely NOT the biggest loser after the dinner I had tonight. :sad2: Why is it I can do well all freakin day long and then blow it at night.

I'm sorry to hear about the pay cuts at work. Ouch, that really sucks. :guilty:

Well, after I just got back from this trip and then my husband just spent $600 on mini van repairs, I'd better not even think of mentioning another Disney trip or any sort of upgrade for a long, long time. :sad2:

Yeah, that being good all day and then blowing it at night is a song most of us sing.

Jen, that hurts about the added pay cuts! I'm so sorry. Can we get this economy back on track and fast?

Beth -- not a good idea to be talking Disney to the spouse....:faint:

OK Diva Wishers....hate to say it...but it's TIME TO GET MOVING AGAIN!!

For those of you feeling uninspired to exercises, I have a little video for you called "NO EXCUSES"

http://c25k.com/noexcuses.htm

I'm including two programs, since we are no longer starting from the couch.

First one is a couch to 5k walk/running program. If you have been exercising and don't have injuries, TRY IT.
http://www.coolrunning.com/engine/2/2_3/181.shtml

And for those that are just getting started, here's the couch to 5k walking plan.
http://www.halhigdon.com/5K%20Training/5-Kwalk.htm

Don't make me bring Vin Disney here to get you off your you know whats!

It's time to get the blood flowing and the calories burning. :woohoo: :woohoo::woohoo:

thanks!! this is just what I need!

That sounds good but the only problem is, I'd have to wait and leave Friday after the twins are off in school. Ruben can probably get off early to pick them up, but I'd need to see them off. So that would mean leaving here around 8:30 a.m.

Then I could stay until Tuesday if Ruben can get Monday off and I was home on Tuesday before the kids get out of school, by 2:30.

Would that work for you? If so, let me know and I will talk to him about it. What room did you reserve? Building 1 or 2? I prefer Building 1, and would be willing to pay the $10 difference between the two. Let me know.

That would work for me!! And I'm not sure which building the rooms are in. I've never requested a location, just the room type (maybe this is why I always get building 2..lol). I booked the 2-queen which I think was 69 a night. I will call Monday and check, and move to building 1 if we aren't there already. They also had the 2-double which was $59 and that is fine with me too, I just don't know which ones are in which building. And I think view rooms were $79. If you have a preference and there are multiple choices in building 1, let me know. :thumbsup2

What??? So after the walk we can't do the parks? I mean unless we buy those $40 block out day passes??

Ugh, if that's the case I think I'm going to have to skip this. Doing the walk is one thing and will be fun but I really wanted to pair it with a Disney trip. :sad2:

No! No! We can do this!! I was hoping the marathon included entry since you are already there but maybe I am wrong? Does anyone know? I may consider upgrading or we could spend a day at DTD, etc. I'm up for whatever!!

I almost forgot to post my weight!

I'm down 2 pounds since we got back. From 213 to 211. :)

Good luck to everyone else!!! Get back on track and get moving! We can all reach our goals, whatever they may be. :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Awesome Beth!!! :woohoo:

You got to do what you feel comfortable with, but I'd love to see you there! And you and Amy could have so fun training together in Vegas. :woohoo: Weekend backpacking trips in the grand canyon...I can see it now ;)

Congratulations! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

I still haven't stepped on the scale. I will next week.

But I have done very well with exercising. Did my weights on Monday, ran Tuesday, Pilates on Wednesday and Thursday did weights and running. I'm feeling like I'm finally getting back in shape after a month of Disney indulgence (which set me back considerably :headache: ).

How is everyone else doing???

Yes! Yes! Beth and I can hike Red Rock!!

And I am very impressed with your exercise routine Jen!

Don't worry gals!! That's only temporary. Just wait until you start dropping those pounds and adding a 20 pounds banner, a 30 pound banner and so on!! :yay:

Take it slow. Set a goal of just losing something each week. Even if it's only a half a pound. Even if all you do is maintain. Just don't gain anything. Eventually it will add up.

I started my journey back in MAY for pete's sake! That's 10 months ago. It's taken me that long to lose 50 lbs. and there were about four months in there where I played around in the teens going up and down, up and down!! It was annoying and frustrating but the key is to stick with it.

I know you can both do it!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Yeah! What she said!! :cheer2:

I weighed in at 213.1 yesterday. Woooohooooo for working off the Disney gain plus a little more! That puts me at a total of 30.4 pounds lost, which means I get to change my siggy!!

Congrats to all of you for getting back on track. I really need to quick start my exercise routine and start planning for the 5k!!

Amy

Yes! Yes! Beth and I can hike Red Rock!!
Ummmm, you do know that Red Rock has a scenic drive?? Emphasis on the word drive.......:rolleyes1

If it was only blocked out one day in Sept, then I might do it and just hang in DTD for one day, but with both days blocked out what's the point of going? I mean, unless you do the upgrade which is like another 100 bucks, isn't it?

If I wasn't going in October for my birthday it might be different. But I don't want to miss the mini meet in October (plus my free gift card) and I can't do both. At least it's not looking like I can at this point, so I might have to still take a pass on this. I'm sorry. I was looking forward to my first 5K. :guilty:

Amy, big congrats on the new banner!!! Way to go! It inspires me - I can't wait until I can have that banner... (got a ways to go).

Why were the divas put in building 2, did we ask for that? With the rumors on the main thread that the ent rate was good for our last trip but not given (is it true?), would we have been better off just booking our rooms not as a group? Or maybe the conference room was tossed in...

Anyway, if I do this, I'll need to stay overnight the day before and maybe the day after, so I'd like to book a room close to yours if that's okay - building 1 view. Any runner/walker who needs a roomie can PM me. Is the reservations person there at HoJo on Saturdays?

Building 2 is cheaper. With the Ent rate, it's Building 1 for $79, Building 2 facing Garden Pool for $69 and Building 2 near the freeway for $59 (and those cheap rooms don't have microwaves I've heard).

So we got the middle of the range, but when we booked them, there was no Ent rate available. Those rooms were running over $100 a night. So Lorealle convinced her manager to set some aside for us at $84 a night, which at the time was a bargain.

She said if the Ent rate came out before the trip, we could call and change it to the lower rate, which we did for Sunday. But no one knew that they came out for the other dates too.

Oh, and we didn't book as a group. Meaning each person still had to call and make their own reservations as individuals. And the conference room was free as far as I know. We didn't have to sign any contracts or anything.

Hope that rambling helps. :rotfl:

That explains a lot - thanks. I see that Theresa just called and is getting the refund for the difference! So one last q on this - when did they decide to apply the ent rate to the days before Sunday? I'm guessing it was like the day before our trip and so the lesson is, always check during your stay.

Beth, can you see the FW from building 1 - I guess you request the park side, high floor?

Well perhaps you could get the block out pass for one day and do fun stuff outside of Disney for one day. Plus you and Amy could have half a day or so on Monday before you head back. Sounds like a good plan to me! I'm not asking you to say yes now, just keep the possibility open.

Hi ladies!

I have not been doing to great with my WW plan since I got home on Monday night. During the day I am fine...but once I get home I am just zombie eating. You know...just shoving things in my mouth mindlessly and having no memory of what I just ate. Yeah, that is how I got this way. Anywho----I have decided that I should get to journaling like I have done in the past. So far, today I have done well. I will work on getting the habit to stick.

Amy----Congrats on the 30 lb ribbon! That is fabulous!:cheer2:

Thanks January!!

And you can do this too...evenings are the hardest for me also...I tend to snack when I am watching tv or on the puter. I have tried to clear the house of the junky stuff and make sure I have lots of healthy things to snack on. That way it isn't so bad! And I try to make sure I have protein with a carb so I get full. Like string cheese and fruit. I've been loving the dried mangos from costco. So yummy they are like a treat! I keep skinny cow ice cream sandwiches in the freezer in case I want something sweet.

Well, it would have been nice of her to have let us know.....:rolleyes1 But I suppose technically she wasn't obligated. Who knows. I do know that people were checking and it wasn't available in the few days beforehand.

As for seeing FW from building one, yes you can. We were on the 6th floor one time and watched them from the balcony. The kids had a perfect view. :)

I'm not asking you to say yes now, just keep the possibility open.

I will. Especially since Amy already has the room. It's a long ways off still...........things can change. Heck, I might win the lotto!! 'Course I'd need to actually play the lotto first. :rotfl:

You can do it! The food journals really do help. :)

Thanks Jen.

And Beth...I agree. You never know. Plus, there are a ton of local 5k's here, so you could always work towards the Disney one, and if you can't go, maybe you and I could find a local one to do. I'd be up for that!!

Thanks January!!

Skinny Cow has saved my behind many a time! No, I mean lost my behind... ;) I like the cones and the truffle bars.

January, hi, I missed meeting you (I was only there for the first part of the trip). Food journaling is the best. I've also been doing it for the last year.

Happy Monday Ladies! :goodvibes

I hope some of you got in some nice long walks this past weekend. If not, well get yourself moving today! :cool1:

For those of you interested in more information about the Disneyland 5k and half marathon (and other Disney races), there's a great site to check out:
www.disneyrunning.com. You can read info on the race, see race reports and photos and also join the running forum (which is for walkers as well ;) )

Looks like we will be registering individually for the Disneyland half marathon and 5k races. So commit to your goal and sign up at www.disneylandhalfmarathon.com! Nancy (yellowmickeyponcho) and I are working out some plans to coordinate with the DIS and Give Kids the World, but whatever is worked out will likely not have anything to do with registration, so go ahead and sign yourself up now. I do not believe that registration is yet close to being full, so there will still be a chance to sign up later.

Also, if any are interested in signing up for the half marathon, they have a discount code posted on disneyrunning.com that I can help you find. I do not believe this code works for the 5k or kids races, however.

Hope everyone is working their individual healthy eating and exercise plans. Food journaling, watching your calorie intake and exercise are the methods that work. And drink your water!

I really hope I make it to the 5k in September.

I love how they will be picking up the slow pokes in a van. :rotfl: That will be enough motivation to keep me moving. I'd probably die of embarrassment if they had to pick me up. Although, I know that's nothing to be embarrassed about, it would still bruise my ego pretty badly.

Love that quote!

Am doing all the above. Did 40 min on the cross trainer today.

I went to that link but still I haven't seen what the course will be for the 5K. Do you know, Jen? I might end up at DL and thought I could get a better picture of what it will take if I walk the route. As in, slowly. ;)

Yikkes, I didn't know they would be picking up the trailers in a van!! That is humiliating! (and why, so they can "end" it?) I'm new to these things.

Here's the 5k course from last year. This year will most likely be the same, I'd think.

I have been on track for the past few days. Today I did eat too much soup for dinner and I have a feeling I went over my points. At least it wasn't fast food. If anything I only had 5 points more than I should have and I have 35 allowance points to dip into.

Anywhoo---I hope you all are having a great night! 24 started but I have it paused because Dh is in the restroom.:rolleyes1 lol

DH made chocolate cake yesterday and I am happy to say I have not had a single crumb. It is tempting though! But soooo not worth the points.

Amy--- I went and got some Skinny Cow Ice Cream sandwiches. I was sad to see that the store was out of the mint. I did get vanilla. They are so good. It is hard to believe that they are low points.:thumbsup2

Try the skinny cow cones. So good. With a little chocolate surprise at the bottom of the cone. My favorites. :)
