Disneyland Divas working out, getting healthy, and looking fine in '09!!

ONE WEEK!!!!

That's right. One more week. I'm not counting Thursday, because for me, bright and early Thursday morning all diets are off. So, for one week, from Wednesday to Wednesday is the final push!!!

We can do this. Cut back this week so you can indulge a little more on the trip. Walk a little more so you can push yourself from 8 a.m. until midnight in the parks.

Final week ladies!! Just one more little bitty week. 7 days. We can do it. :cheer2:

OK. Going to go running for 30 minutes. Don't care to, don't want to, but will do.

Anyone going to join me in exercise today?

MOVE IT!

I think I have more than 7 days of dieting. I will not forego all treats in DL, but I don't think I can afford another trip of eating whatever the heck I want. :sad2:

Ok, coming back to edit. Not dieting...but eating right...and perhaps a little more right than I typically do.

Me again...
Did run. Bought a stack full of lean cuisines. Am drinking water.
Getting back on track.

Who else is moving today and getting on track?
Let's get some more discussion on this board!
I'm getting motivated again. :woohoo:

One week 'til Disneyland. Let's get moving now so next week will be easy peasy lemon squeezy (can you tell I have a four year old?)

Jen: we could never tell you had a 4-year old (don't we all talk that way?)

Ok, here's a semi-serious question. How do you deal with drinking all the water and the bathroom urges that flow (no pun intended) from that? Seriously, it almost "that time of the month" when I am running to the ladies' room every hour or so anyway (I shed a lot of water right before) and I can't imagine adding 80 or 100 ounces of water and going through this every day. My work life just can't take it? Or does your body get used to it after a while?

Cheryl--I work at home and go to the bathroom every hour. I guess I'm not the right person to ask. Drinking water is better in this regard than drinking coffee or tea all day.

So . . . . what you're telling me is that my having to run to the bathroom every hour MAY have something to do with the pot and a half of coffee I've had today? :lmao:

(didn't sleep well--cat threw up in middle of night--twice--and then was up at 5 a.m. to get ready for a rather contentious 8:30 a.m. meeting)

It's Friday and weigh in day!!! Where is everyone?? Come out, come out where ever you are. :rolleyes1

I lost a little. Down from 214 to 212.4 but the best part of that is it puts me at the 50 lb mark!!! I have officially lost 50 pounds and can have a new banner!!! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:
It only took me 10 months to do it too. :lmao:

Anyway, here's to another 50! :cheer2:

Have a good weekend everyone.

Hey Beth! Just wanted to add my congrats. That is an incredible accomplishment and I know you will be able to reach your second half of your goal!

I weighed in this morning at 220, having lost 5 more since last Friday which means I met my goal of losing 20# before the trip!! Wooohoooo!

I'm at 23.5 lost so I am setting a new goal of a total of 25 before our trip which should be doable. I figure the extra 5 lbs can make room for some yummy snacks at DLR!!

Hope you all had a great week. I can't wait for our trip! It's almost here!!

Amy

Yeah Amy! That is amazing. I can never lose weight that fast.

OK, task one accomplished. And I'm here to face up to the damage. Gained 4.5 or 5 pounds. :scared:

Very upsetting, but definitely a good motivator to get more serious with tasks 2 and 3. And a pointed reminder that I am not able to eat three full meals a day, indulge in chocolate desserts and imbibe a couple of drinks without consequences -- even if I do put in 30 minutes of cardio a day. Back to life, back to reality...

It's time to MOVE IT!
EAT RIGHT!
JOURNAL MY FOOD INTAKE!
and DRINK SOME WATER!

:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Hi Jen! I was up 2-3 pounds after my eating festival (I mean vacation) too! But after 5 days home, I am seeing it drop off pretty fast so will be back to previous in no time, and on my way down again, after the ladies trip that is. I will also not be indulging as much as I did on my first trip, but will being having plenty of goodies.

I did well yesterday. Got back to the program. And I must admit that my energy today is better after just one day of eating right and exercising. Amazing how easy it is to forget the benefits of exercise and healthy eating when I'm feeling lazy and pulled by the treats.

Will be interesting to see if this weight comes off a little faster. It's been so hard for me to lose anything, but I'm hopeful that these excess pounds from my plateau come off more easily.

Have a great day. Remember, you ARE worth the work it takes to get fit and it definitely is worth the effort required to get and stay healthy! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

GET UP AND MOVE!! :yay: :yay:
Here's the C25k walk plan, if you've forgotten it:http://www.halhigdon.com/5K%20Training/5-Kwalk.htm

Reporting in for Friday: I am down 1 lb. since my weigh in on 2/25, so I'm headed in the right direction. I am so eager to get these extra five pounds off and I will be closer to that goal come the DL Divas weekend.

Exercising and eating are back on track. I slipped a little at dinner and had some Trader Joes fried rice, which isn't really bad, but just not as good as one of those light frozen meals. I ran 30 minutes. And I drank most of the water I was supposed to. Desserts of any variety other than skinny cows and sugar free pudding are not an option for awhile.

Hope you are all doing well. Check in. And I'm interested to hear overall progress (weight, exercise, attitude, commitment, determination, whatever!) since the last DL Divas meet one year ago today. Let's measure all the progress we've made!

Progress for the week: 1 lb down
Progress for the year: Ran 1/2 marathon. Added running to my routine. Didn't lose any weight to speak of, but am in MUCH better shape and am committed to continuing on this path of wellness and fitness. Have 1/2 marathon already planned for Labor Day weekend at DL and am in process of figuring out a worthy goal for my FORTIETH birthday this December.

And now for the QUOTE OF THE DAY:
Progress, however, of the best kind, is comparatively slow. Great results cannot be achieved at once; and we must be satisfied to advance in life as we walk, step by step.

Reporting Sarge! (Good Job getting back to reality!)Okay, I made it to the gym one time this week. I have been so tired since coming back from my trip. I think my sleep really suffered when I was gone because I did not take my sleep apnea machine and we were gone quite a few nights. Anyhow, still getting caught up I guess. Did a fairly good job getting back on track eatingwise and am pretty much even with where I was pre-vacation. I am sort of pushing to hold the line or maybe lose another pound or two before next week. Other than this week, I really have kept up with the walking:thumbsup2

I hope you all are having a wonderful Friday and I'll see ya soon! Tracey

Hope you are all recovered from your trip soon so you can get ready for the next one! I'm still struggling to get back to real life, and laundry and packing, well that's not even making it to the priority list yet.

Great job on getting back to pre-vaca weight and keeping up with the walking! :woohoo:

I stepped on the scale again and I'm down two pounds since Wednesday. Well at least this vacation weight so far is coming off and who knows, maybe I can start some momentum here that will enable me to lose five pounds from my plateau weight and get rid of the belly flab.

Plan to go to a weight works class today and then I have my DS4's birthday - at an ice cream parlor, no less.

I found it got back to normal after a week or two. Now I drink at least 100 oz of water a day and maybe go once or twice during a 12-hour shift. But I really think it is worth it! I haven't had soda since the second week of January, I feel great, and I think this has helped my weight loss.

Yeah Amy! That is amazing. I can never lose weight that fast.

Thanks! But I have a lot lot lot more to lose. It usually comes off quicker in the first few months for me. But I'm really trying to make lifestyle changes this time, not diet. Adding consistent exercise has helped, I had never done that before.

Great job!!! Drink a bunch of water before you head to the birthday, and stuff some healthy snacks in your purse just in case!

I weighed in at 217.5 yesterday. Down 2.5 since last Friday and 26 pounds total since I started! Glad I increased my goal to lose 25# before the trip because now I won't feel so awful if I gain a few during. I'm hoping to maybe lose one or two before Thursday so I can shoot to return from the trip and still be at a 25# loss. And then....get back on track and "keep moving forward".

It's been a tough week. Lots of stuff at work, and long days as a result which cause "stuff" at home. I can't wait for our trip. I hate to say this and it sounds awful....but I am really ready for a few days away from all my responsibilities...hubby, kids, work included. Anyways, its been hard to exercise this week because I've gotten home so late and need to use my night hours to keep up (and hopefully get ahead) in school so I won't fall behind during the trip. My goal is to get in a workout today and tomorrow since I am off work.

Hope everyone else is doing great!!

Amy

I totally forgot to weigh in yesterday! So I did this morning. I am up. From 212.4 to 214 even. But I know why. Aunt Flo is visiting and that always happens to me then. So no worries. And I'm glad she's here now because that means she won't be coming on the trip with me!! :thumbsup2

My aunt visited me last week.

Those aunts are pretty pesky aren't they! ;)

Ain't that the truth?? Plus, you should see a drop after she leaves.:thumbsup2

YES! Damn family dropping in all the time. :rotfl:

Well, I don't know about that. I'll be in Disney so I doubt I'll see any drops!! :lmao: But I'm not going to worry about it. I never do. I've gained 9 pounds in one week at DL before and managed to lose it all in one week when we got back, so no biggie.

You are now the skinny minnie!! You are in the teens now and are catching up to me!! What's your final goal?
I'm thinking I'd like to be around 155-160. :confused3
