Disneyland Divas working out, getting healthy, and looking fine in '09!!

I totally forgot to weigh in yesterday! So I did this morning. I am up. From 212.4 to 214 even. But I know why. Aunt Flo is visiting and that always happens to me then. So no worries. And I'm glad she's here now because that means she won't be coming on the trip with me!! :thumbsup2

Well that is great news Beth! Darn old bat went on my family trip with me, so she won't be on this one! Yeah!

YES! Damn family dropping in all the time. :rotfl:

Well, I don't know about that. I'll be in Disney so I doubt I'll see any drops!! :lmao: But I'm not going to worry about it. I never do. I've gained 9 pounds in one week at DL before and managed to lose it all in one week when we got back, so no biggie.

You are now the skinny minnie!! You are in the teens now and are catching up to me!! What's your final goal?
I'm thinking I'd like to be around 155-160. :confused3

Yep! You and I are on the same exact path!! Good thing, we can do it together!! Originally I was shooting for 165, and don't get me wrong, I will be thrilled to ever be that size!! But my real final goal is 150-160.

We can do it, we can do it!!

Amy

This week has been a disaster.
I did go to the gym...ONCE.

I need to buckle down next week and really get started again.
It will be hard because I'll be at Disneyland Thurs-Sat for the girls trip but I believe my family will be using evercleanse (if it arrives on Monday) that will be a nice head start in the weight loss dept.

Tomorrow I have church, homework, and studying to do. Monday I have work at 8am until whenever I finish my task, pick up my final paycheck from the bookstore and I'm going to head to the gym after that (should be around noon) before heading home to do my chores and finish up the homework.

Tuesday is school at 11:10 (exam :headache: ) and then off to the gym around 1pm before going home to chores and class again at 6:30pm.

Well, wouldn't you know it took the worst case of food poisoning/stomach bug I've had in a long time to finally get me out of the teens!!! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I am down to 208.4. Although I'm sure the second I eat even one cracker I'll gain it all back. :rotfl: Maybe I'll never eat again. :rolleyes1

Yeah right, who am I kidding?!?!?!? :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Hope your all doing well. Diets are officially off in two days. Corn dogs, and Dole Whips here we come. :yay:

Beth-

You are a HARD CORE goal achiever! Well whatever it takes. You did it! And I see you leaving the teens shortly -- for the below 200s -- even if you do end up boucing up and down a teensy weensy bit to get there.

I say FREEZE this weight for your pre DL trip. Heck, you can't get on the scale on your weigh in date on Friday. And do a little dance (as soon as you can muster the energy) for having such a SUCCESSFUL year of healthy living and weight loss. YOU ROCK GIRLFRIEND! You accomplished a wonderful thing for yourself this year. If you don't believe it, go to the grocery store and fill those little baskets up with 35 or so cantelopes and see how it feels to put those down and be free of them. Or line up 200 sticks of butter and say GOOD BYE to them forever!!

Van Disney gives you a :thumbsup2 and so do we all!

Well at least there is some benefit to your horrible toilet-hugging experience!!! And just so you know...I haven't been that close to 200 in 12 years!!!! Way to go!!!

I think we should all do a pre-trip weigh in so we can track how much we indulge on the trip..lol. Or maybe I don't want to know.

Sometimes, ignorance really is bliss. ;)

And thanks Jen and Amy. It's nice to say bye-bye to the teens even if only until the trip starts. :rotfl:

I weighed in this morning for my early official weigh-in. I am 214.4. So that is 29.1 lost. My goal is to try to get close to this weight by next Friday. Hopefully 3 days of post-Disney recovery will work off the mickey bars I eat in the park!!:cool1:

Hi all! I wished I had found this thread earlier. I have lost a little over 20lb since a year ago, and I'd love to go another 20. But at this point, I'm just trying to get back down from the two pounds I've gained since our Diva trip.

Maybe a fruit buffet next time? :lmao:

I am so inspired by some of you I met on the trip and by your stories in here. I had to see the tax accountant today but managed to get to the gym to do 45 min on the crosstrainer. :yay:

Tuesday I'll be weighing in and I'd really like to say goodbye to these two new pounds that I hope are mostly salt gain (darn Disney popcorn!).popcorn::

I hope everyone comes back into this thread after you return because I need the support. How is everyone else doing?

Hi Donna!! Congrats on the weight loss. :cheer2:

Well, 5 days at Disney put me back at 213.2 for a gain of 5 pounds. But that's no surprise especially since some of that was gained back after my food poisoning situation.

Back on track!!

Really? Do we have to?? :rolleyes1

Congrats on the weight loss last year! :thumbsup2

I am very impressed that you all have gotten back on the scale. I'm holding out for a couple of days to see if I can't shed a couple pounds before I'm ready to face the damage. Let's just say it's been a very bad month for me weight and exercise wise.

I did get my you know what to the gym for my weight exercises today, so I am officially back on track. And, yes, it is good to just get right back on track. The good news is we all walked about 20 miles the last few days, so our exercise program is going very well! We just need to keep that up!

OK, now where are the rest of our DIS Divas? Time to check in...

Thanks, Beth and J! You may be right not to jump on the scale right away. Congrats on getting back to the gym today! Beth, yes, part of that gain was the readjustment from being sick. Big congrats for your loss overall!

What is hard for me is how eating off (like I did at DL) seems to set me on this treat permission nonsense. I never have popcorn at the movies but I did days after I had the DL popcorn treat.

And I should have given away the candy... I will have to think who I can give it to...

Welcome! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

I'm here. Man I weighed myself yesterday and it was UGLY! I was actually surprised that I gained as much as I did because I didn't think I ate THAT bad. although I have not been eating hardly ANYTHING at home so I guess ANYTHING is something when you haven't been eating. But I had oatmeal and a plain bagel the two days we ate breakfast and then at the character meal I just ate mostly fruit and I had a few pieces of salmon no bacon or pancakes or anything.

I had fish at the BB meal although I DID have some of the creme brulee but I could only eat a little cuz I was so full. I DID however eat the pomme frittes, a monte cristo and some beignets. That was my WORST meal by far.

But like the day of the hunt I didn't even eat lunch at all. Oh well. Plus we walked a MILLION miles but sometimes I think I "retain" water in my muscles from all the walking cuz they hurt so bad.

I was 158 yesterday and today I am ALREADY back to 156 just from getting back to my normal eating routine.

I have tons to do in the next few days but I am hoping I can start back on my exercise routine next week. I should go back to only once or twice a week doc apts and even still I shouldn't have to skip working out except maybe once a week because I think only my therapist is early enough that I would have to skip.

So we shall see.

I REALLY want to get at LEAST 10 off but hopefully 20. I just hope my stupid meds don't screw it up. My psychiatrist said this one he put me on "can" make you gain and I take 3 a day now as it is and I am still on the weekly blood draws while they are adjusting my dosage and I most likely will go UP in dosage before they are through. BLEH!

But honestly so far I haven't felt hungrier YET so we shall see!

Anyway good luck to everyone and here's hoping we ALL see success now that we are back and can REALLY focus! :)

Morning DIS Divas!

So who wants to go back to Disneyland with me this Labor Day weekend? :cheer2: :cheer2:

I would like to invite all of you to join me for the Disneyland 5k and 1/2 marathon http://www.disneylandhalfmarathon.com taking place Labor Day weekend Friday, September 4 - Sunday, September 6, 2009.

I know all of you can at least walk 5k as we did that many times over this past weekend! And nothing like having a goal (fun goal no less!) to keep you motivated and on track. So go to the website and register! Cost is $40 for the 5k and $120 for the 1/2 marathon.

I'm going. NOW WHO'S COMING WITH ME??

And now for the QUOTE OF THE DAY:
Choosing a goal and sticking to it changes everything.
Scott Reed

ME ME ME ME ME ME!!!!!!! :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay:

I have never done anything like that and I'd love to give it a try. I'll have to check with Ruben and see what we have going on, but for now, I'm saying count me in!! :cheer2:

Kelly, look, you've already lost two of those pounds. I'm sure the rest will come off this week. I read some of the older threads mentioning your blood draw but I don't know why. I would like to know, here or PM, if you feel like bringing me up to speed.

Marathon... hm......

YIPPEE!!!! We are going to have SO much fun!!! I'm sure Ruben will be on board (getting in shape is a big bonus for the DHs ;) ) And if the family wants to come to, there are kids races and family races. Heck, I've already signed up everyone in the family to run something!

Who else is coming??? This is going to be so much fun! :yay: :yay: :yay:

Donna my doc has put me on a new drug that can cause liver damage as well as pancreatic problems and until they can find the right dosage I have to go in every week for at least 5 weeks to see how my liver and pancrease are handling it. Then they will adjust the dosage accordingly. Gotta love it. :)

And yeah I just love what the meds do to your weight. Luckily as I said so far I have had the opposite affect. In fact yesterday after noon I felt a little queasy and ended up not eating dinner until late and then just had a bowl of soup and same with today. I DID have my small bowl of shreaded wheat but then felt really crappy but then I finally felt a little hungry so again had a bowl of chicken soup. Tonight I am hoping I feel hungry cuz I need to cook this turkey breast that I laid out yesterday.

I am really hoping though that next week I will be able to start working out and I will see a difference then. I do still have at least two appts a week through almost the end of April though so it makes it tough when I have to be up and showered and ready to go all the way across town for my apts but we shall see.

Again good luck to all!

OK, I'm joining in.

Except I'm not weighing myself and I'm not measuring myself. That might be shooting myself in the foot, but then I do have clothes (I dry everything on a rack so I never have "it shrank in the dryer!" as an excuse) to go by, fitness level, knee-pain level (I think I have an impending ligament tear just waiting for me to make a stupid move, so I'm being very very careful and MUST buy different shoes) to go by. I know I've changed when I am able to look at myself in a mirror as I pass by. I had just reached that level at some point last Fall, before the sun set too early for us to feel safe walking to meet hubby and walking home, then we kept getting sick, and pound after pound just found me.

Will be talking to hubster about moola for the 5K trip! That would be fun. I think I'm also going to let my brother know about the half-marathon, to see if he thought it would be fun to do; that would get a few things covered at the same time (seeing them, walking a long distance, visiting DLR again, etc).

Eamon and I walked today. Not long and not fast or far, but it was more than I've done at home for most of the winter!

Welcome Molly! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Feel free to measure (or not measure) whatever you want (or don't want). It's all good over here. Just a place to get support to reach our own individual goals. :grouphug:

Hope you can work out the DL 5k. It will be so much fun!!
