First off, congrats on walking 6 miles! I don't know how you ladies do it. Walking and running for miles and miles. I do two and I'm ready to collapse.I'm both looking forward to and dreading the holidays. All my memories are tied up in holiday treats (cookies, pastries, etc) and I don't know how I'm going to pass up all the goodies for an entire month. I just don't want to lose all the progress I've made. But when the treat are sitting there, I have NO willpower to pass them by.
Guess I'll have to ramp up the trips to the gym and up the amount of water to just stay at the same weight.
Also I feel the exact same as you on the holidays! ALL of my memories are tied up in holiday treats too. It goes hand in hand with Christmas for me.
I know everyone says to focus on the family time and not the food, but in my family it was always the same. When we got together there was always lots of food. Cooking and baking were just what we did together.
My mom is a great baker, and some of my best memories are of the two of us baking together. So it's hard to be in a holiday spirit without wanting to bake something.![]()
Good luck getting back on track.I never weighed in because 1) I woke up too late 2) I was so lazy today. I hope I haven't gained too much since last week I lost 4.5lbs. I'm just glad Christmas isn't for another few weeks, that way I can get back on board and lose weight before christmas.
That sounds good. I'll be interested to hear how they turn out.I went to the library and checked out a healthy baking cookbook and I'm looking forward to trying some new recipes and trying to reducd the calories on some of our favorite items. I'll let you know if any of the items are successful.
January, you can totally do it. I know you are always so busy and under a lot of stress at work, school, home, etc. but you are strong and I know that once you make up your mind to do something, you do it!I was putting on my jeans yesterday and they were so flipping tight AND they are the biggest pair I own. So, instead of spending money on bigger clothing, I am going to get my boo-tay in gear and start losing again. I have no clue how much I weigh, but by how tight my jeans are, I am guessing over 205.As embarrassing as that is to admit, it is the truth. I am so ready. I think I hit rock bottom.

I need to get back on track too. I keep saying that, I know. And then I blow it. BUT I refuse to give up, which is half the battle right there. In the past I would have quit by now and just gained it all back.
I've been gaining over the past two weeks and am back at 220 from 214.That depresses me to no end and I hate that I had to give back my 45 pound banner.

BUT it also makes me determined to get back to where I was. My goal before the New Year (Jan. 1st) is to be at 209 which would be an 11 lb loss, so I am striving for that right now.
We can all do this!!!!! It's not easy but each and everyone of us has already come so far! Let's keep at it!!!!!!!!!!![]()

Hi. Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving break. It sure was nice to have a few days off work doing not much of anything. We did get our Christmas tree last night and decorated it, so it is feeling very festive already at home. I don't think I would have started with the holidays so soon, but my DS3 was so excited, I decided what the heck!
Tomorrow I leave for Chicago on a business trip for a few days. I will bring my sneakers and will try to spend some time in the fitness center. We'll see how that goes! Also will try not to do TOO bad in the eating.
Oh, I signed up for the DL Half Marathon last night. There's a discount code that lasts until the end of December, if anyone is interested... I haven't signed up for the 5k yet, but would love too, if there's anyone out there who wants to join me!
Good luck getting through the holiday seasons everyone! Remember to give yourself the gift of health. If you really want to bake, choose those treats which are lower fat. Plan your meals. Exercise. All those boring tried and true methods will get you through the holidays.
And now for my quote. Might as well make this a QUOTE OF THE WEEK, since I may not be getting much DIS time while I'm on business travel.
Don't Quit
When you've eaten too much and you can't write it down,
And you feel like the biggest failure in town.
When you want to give up just because you gave in,
and forget all about being healthy and thin.
So What! You went over your points a bit,
It's your next move that counts...So don't you quit!
It's a moment of truth, it's an attitude change.
It's learning the skills to get back in your range.
It's telling yourself, "You've done great up till now.
You can take on this challenge and beat it somehow."
It's part of your journey toward reaching your goal.
You're still gonna make it, just stay in control.
To stumble and fall is not a disgrace,
If you summon the will to get back in the race.
But, often the struggler's, when loosing their grip,
Just throw in the towel and continue to slip.
And learn too late when the damage is done,
that the race wasn't over...they still could have won.
Lifestyle change can be awkward and slow,
but facing each challenge will help you grow.
Success is failure turned inside out,
the silver tint in a cloud of doubt.
When you're pushing to the brink, just refuse to submit,
If you bite it, you write it....But don't you quit!

Thanks. Today is the first day in about 2 and a half weeks that I feel like I am going to get back in track. Thanks Beth! I know you can get back on track too! You are such an inspiration to me. Seeing how great you look in those pictures has made me want to really get on track.
Way to go!!!!!!!!!! I know how hard that is. I am a total diet soda addict. Good job!!!I also only had one soda today! That is major for me. I usually have at least 4 a day.![]()
OMG, wow. That is so true. I am totally guilty of that myself. I'm going to remember that and hopefully it will help. Thanks. At our WW meeting today the leader was talking about how when her kids were babies and they would cry she would try and figure out what was wrong and alot of the time she would say "Well you can't be hungry, because you just ate". She was talking about how little she used that phrase in her own life. We talked about how many times we eat when we aren't hungry at all.
Ugh, that sucks. I hope they exchange it for you.I bought the pan at Macys and it wasn't cheap.
