Disneyland Divas working out, getting healthy, and looking fine in '09!!

Good news for the week is that my exercise went well. Ran 15 miles. Did a couple hours of weight work. So pretty much kept to plan. Had a rough day in there with toe injuries, but they healed up nicely and I managed my long 1 and 1/2 run today with no problems.

Bad news is I'm up 1 lb. Can I pretend it's fat turning to muscle?

Hope you all had a good week. :thumbsup2
Check in regardless.

QUOTE FOR THE DAY
The measure of who we are is what we do with what we have.

I did a walk on Thursday, but yesterday and today my hip is really hurting so I'm taking it easy. Went out to lunch today and had baby back ribs, mashed potatoes (and cheese bread). I'm going to go really light on dinner tonight and hopefully will be able to do a long walk tomorrow.

I'm prepping my menu for Thanksgiving. Trying to lower the fat content and up the nutritional value. We will be having BBQ turkey, butternut squash soup, stuffing, twice baked potatoes, jello and berry pie. We will be having a really low key day since one of the boys will be going to San Diego with his girlfriends family and it will just be three of us. I'm going to try and get everyone to take a walk with me (hoping the hip is willing) and then either play cards or watch videos.

What is everyone else's plans for the holiday?

Good news! After two weeks I'm down 4.5 lbs (239). I'm 2lbs from my 25lb goal! Yay! That whole month of illness really messed me up but I'm back on track!

I only skimmed back, so I'll just say congrats to those who lost or maintained!!

Cristabel, way to go!!!!! I'm jealous you skinny beeotch! LOL

Eaglemom, your menu sounds delish! Take care of that hip! My DH works until 6, so it will be just our family eating a late dinner once he gets home.

Jen, I'm fairly certain that one pound is fat turning to muscle. :thumbsup2

Where is everyone else?? :cheer2:

OK, I am here to confess my sins. I made apple crisp and the Disneyland pumpkin muffins today. :sad2:
My mom is coming for a visit. She lives in MI but has been in CA taking care of some family business and is taking a bus here before she flies out of here on Tuesday morning.

So most likely my plans to drop the weight I gained last week will be flying right out the window. I just can't do well when I have a guest. And I'm sure she'll want to go out to eat.
Crud. Oh well. I'm determined to hang on to my 45 lb banner!! Even if the 50 lb one will continue to elude me for awhile longer.

Who you calling skinny, skinny?!
I'm SO jealous of your 45lb banner!

I've got my mom here visiting and oh boy.....it has not been a diet friendly time. I'm quite scared to step on the scale once she leaves....... :sad2:

Went up to Tahoe for the weekend and is was wonderful to get away from the computer and work and chores for a couple of days.

I wish everyone a great week and STAY POSITIVE!

Eating yesterday and earlier today was pretty bad.

I did get it together and took my dog walking for 45 minutes to an hour. It was a GOOD walk, I'm sleepy now. My dog is relaxed now too!:cool1:

I'm glad you had a nice get away. Ruben and I went to Tahoe for our honeymoon. We were only 21 and 22 when we got married and couldn't afford much, so we went there. I loved it! So pretty up there. :cloud9:

Good for you going for a nice long walk!!! :woohoo:

Well, my mom is on a plane for home. We did a lot of bad eating and baking while she was here. Not to say the baking turned out bad, it actually turned out great, which is the bad part! :rotfl2:

I'm struggling, but hanging in there.

Happy Tuesday!

Spent the day at DS's school volunteering for Grandparents' Day. It was very sweet and a nice break from work.

I hope everyone is doing well, preparing for Thanksgiving, remembering to exercise and to be healthy. But most of all appreciating all we have in our lives for which to be thankful - our health, our families, our friends, our hopes and dreams.

QUOTE OF THE DAY
Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life.
It turns what we have into enough, and more.
It turns denial into acceptance,
chaos to order, confusion to clarity.
It can turn a meal into a feast,
a house into a home, a stranger into a friend.
Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today,
and creates a vision for tomorrow
.
Melody Beattie

Have a wonderful day! And hope you are enjoying Thanksgiving preparations!

Happy Wednesday!

Good luck with all last minute shopping and Thanksgiving preparations! I'll be going to my parents' house, so just need to get a few dishes prepared to bring: lite pumpkin pie, stuffing and rutabaga. Mom does the rest so I get it very easy.

Tomorrow morning our neighborhood is having a morning TURKEY TROT walk on the lake for an hour. I'm looking forward to the pre turkey exercise and mostly the company. I encourage everyone to do a turkey trot of your own sometime during the day! :cheer2:

And for the QUOTE OF THE DAY:
What we're really talking about is a wonderful day set aside on the fourth Thursday of November when no one diets. I mean, why else would they call it Thanksgiving?
-- Erma Bombeck

I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving tomorrow! :goodvibes

Yesterday was a very bad day. Eating was horrible and I didn't work out.

YIKES.

OH well, I'm going to they gym today because it's raining outside so I can't walk the dog:headache:

Has it been rougher for you lately?? It sure has for me. I can't figure out why.

The only thing I can think of is the holidays have always been the time of year for indulging for me. Lots of favorite family foods, tons of baking, etc. And the stores have all the damn baked goods and baking ingredients front and center, so it's all I can think about.

I am really struggling right now. I know I'm not losing at all. I just hope I'm not gaining too much. :sad2:

It's been a bad week for me as well. No trips to the gym at all this week and went to a friends for dinner and they had spinach dip with bread bowl (really big downfall). This was after eating a bunch of ghiradelli chocolate squares as a stress relief at work.

Got to leave work early today and came home and made the soup and baked the potatoes. We've rented a bunch of movies so I'm looking forward to a day of movies (and checking out the ads for shopping on Friday) and light thanksgiving dinner. If it doesn't rain I'll try and get everyone out for a walk around the neighborhood.

I hope everyone has a fantastic holiday.

Same here! I've been hiding behind cheesecake and chocolate chip danish.
(sigh) Cheesecake is my downfall.

Sorry to hear you've been struggling as well. Darn these holidays!! LOL

Enjoy your movies and ads. I'll be doing the same, since we are eating a late dinner.

Have a GREAT holiday ladies!!!

Well my goals for this week went down the drain.
Monday was good, both food and exercise. Yesterday was terrible, today was nearly as bad.

I was planning on going to the gym today but I promised to help my disabled neighbor (she has sever rheumatoid arthritis) to clean out her refrigerator. Her house is REALLY dirty because she can't clean it herself and I can't always help her. So I tried my best to get as much done for her because she has family coming over tomorrow. I scrubbed and emptied out her fridge, you'd be terrified to see what was in there:scared1:, scrubbed the dining room table, dusted the surrounding furniture, swept the floor, wet dusted the leather lazy boy, tv console and rug. I really wanted to vacuum but her husband would be coming home soon and they were going to get stuff together for the next day. If I had gone earlier I may have been able to vacuum and even start cleaning the kitchen. I hope her family will help her. I looked online and it said I burned about 500 calories cleaning for about 2 hours.

COOL.

We're sleeping over my grandma's house today so I'll see if I can take her for a late walk tonight and two walks tomorrow before the family arrives. Right now she is whining so much it's FRUSTRATING!
