Disneyland Divas working out, getting healthy, and looking fine in '09!!

Good morning ladies!

I am glad to report that we made it through the night and everyone did just fine! DH is able to get out of bed, little DS is great and so far so good for big DS. DH took the kids to the park for a couple hours so I could pack up and take a meeting or two. I"m supposed to be at work today :headache:

Keep sending pixie dust. Seems to be working. Need enough to get us through a six hour drive today! :wizard:

Cristabel--Thanks for taking those before and after pictures! You look great! Not just smaller, but also healthier! I'm so impressed with your exercise program. Keep up the super work!!!! :thumbsup2

And now for my QUOTE OF THE DAY:
Life is a challenge, meet it.
Mother Theresa

Yay for healthiness!! Have a safe drive!

Jenn - Glad to hear so far so good today! I hope it stays that way. :wizard:

Cristabel - I know I posted it on the other thread, but you look GREAT!! Way to go!!! :thumbsup2

Where is everyone else lately? I won't name names....you know who you are....but we've been missing quite a few ladies. I hope all is well with them. :)

I just registered for a walk! I am so excited... Info to come!

That's great Sarah!:thumbsup2

I'm going to register for my city's 5k run/walk. I just need the $25 for the registration fee. I'm starting my C25k program so I'll be ready for the run in November.

I started back at Curves tonight.

I haven't been since July 30th, I didn't even realize that it had been that long. Hopefully this will be a new beginning.

That is awesome Shirley!!! Good for you! I bet it felt great to be back in there working out.

Sarah, I'm going to check out that walk you are doing. Good for you for doing that. :thumbsup2

Ugh, bad night for me. I did good all day, drank water, even worked out. Then blew it all tonight on leftovers. Very bad, very fattening leftovers. Shoot. Guess this week I'll forget about losing another two pounds and just hope to maintain!

You just never know Beth! You have thought that before and had a loss so just keep trying and stay positive!

I have done ok today. I drank my water and stayed within my points even though my choice of foods to use those points on was not necessarily the best. I am looking forward to watching Biggest Loser tonight and getting more inspiration!

Oh yeah, I'll keep trying. Never give up right?!?!?! :cheer2: :yay: But you know how it is. We'll see. If I lose then I'll just be pleasantly surprised! :goodvibes

Good job on drinking you water and saying within your points! :thumbsup2

Just a quick note to let you know that WE MADE IT HOME! :drive: Ride was exactly 6 hours and went smoothly.

Welcome back (not that you didn't post)! Glad you made it back safe and sound!

HALLO.

I'm so tired today! After school today I came home, at some dinner, relaxed, and went to the trail to start my C25k program. I decided to take the dog because she really needs her exercise and I do not want a problem dog like in the Dog Whisperer show.

Well, never again! I don't mean the exercise, but I will NEVER again take her with me when I need to work out. She is such a hassle! UGH. I need a dog trainer! Oh, and the fact that she almost killed herself really messed with my nerves.

You see, I did my first workout for 30 minutes (10 minutes more than required but I felt like I was jipping myself with only a 20 minute cardio session, BOY do I feel it now) and then I decided to get my books from the library. I left Osita in the car and I was gone for maybe 5 minutes, well when I get back in she's super happy to see me and then we're on our way out of the parking lot. Well we're stopped at a red light before actually exiting the parking lot and Osita is in the back, tied to the seat. Well I opened her window because it was a bit stuffy and she loves the wind in her face. Well she decides it's a great idea to jump out of the car window!!!:scared::eek::scared1: Thankfully it was a red light! I parked the car and jumped out, she was hanging by her leash! Of course while I'm putting her back in the car, the light turns green and we're the first ones in line. Ugh, so I'm trying to get my seatbelt on and start moving. I was SO jittery on the way home, I was just praying "THANK YOU JESUS! OMGOODNESS THAT COULD HAVE BEEN SO MUCH WORSE"

So I learned an invaluable lesson - USE THE SEATBELT HARNESS, DUMMY!:headache:

And I watched biggest loser and I want to lose 12lbs this week:laughing:

Good Morning Ladies,
Hope everything is going well! I'm am very happy its Wednesday! I've earned 50 bucks so far for my walk! I'm stoked that means I'm halfway to my initial goal!! Well not much else to report here... I hope everyone has a great day!

Welcome back! What a trip huh??

I hope you all have a great day today!!! I DVRed Biggest Loser last night and I'm going to watch it now. Does everyone here watch it? I've never seen it before.

Cristabel, how scary with your dog!!!! I'm glad she's ok.

Oh, and I thought I'd share this here. I had that "all or nothing" mentality for so long, still do to some extent, but I'm working on it.

Slow and Steady
Remember the fable about the tortoise and the hare? The hare got off to a zippy start and seemed sure to win the race. But he didn't, did he? The tortoise, while naturally much slower than the hare, kept moving steadily towards the finish line and was able to cross first.
What's the take-home message of this fable? Slow and steady wins the race. To reach your weight-loss goals, you need to switch from the hare's to the tortoise's mindset. In other words, you must break the "all or nothing" mentality.

Do you start diets with superhuman resolve — determined to eat right and work out seven days a week without fail — only to fall off the wagon and give up hope?

This kind of approach to anything — especially to your health — can be very tempting, and may even feel motivational. But I'm telling you right now that it's a dangerous approach that will only set you up for failure. Human beings are imperfect. It's inevitable that you will eventually skip a workout or give in to temptation, and you'll feel like a failure and want to give up entirely — i.e., trade the all for the nothing.

So, start thinking like a tortoise. Pace yourself. Allow yourself to have a slice of pizza or take a day off now and then; just don't stray too far from the path that will lead you to your goals.

I love it!! For so long I tried the gung ho version of dieting and failed multiple times... This time I got on the wagon but allowed myself to fall off once in a while just to keep it interesting and here I am 60 lbs lighter!!! Its sooooo true... Thanks for posting this!!

Hello everyone--

Thanks for the tortoise and hair story Beth. I sure need it, as I haven't had the chance to exercise since last Friday and I can just feel my body suffering for it. I was hoping to get back on track today, but DS5 didn't make it to school. Said he was feeling sick on the drive over and we brought him home. Turns out he was fine after about an hour and I was just over cautious. What to do? Anyway, I had to work while he was home, so just didn't get anything extra done and for sure no time for me to exercise. So frustrating!

I'm so proud of everyone doing so well exercising!!

No problem. I was the same way. It was all or nothing for me and if I messed up, I'd say screw it and just stop trying. Which is so dumb because time was and is passing anyway, and if I'd just stuck with it, I'd be so much further along then I am now.

But I feel so differently about it now. It's more of a lifestyle change and there are going to be days when I don't eat healthy or don't exercise and that's ok.

I would have kept him home too. After the weekend you had, better to err on the side of caution. These things happen. You'll get back on track before you know it. :)

I was the same EXACT way!! I put myself like 2 months behind that way...

Good Morning!!
How is everyone this morning? I'm doin ok... I was good yesterday and actually worked out! Haven't been bad about food or water but the working out thing is really hard for me... No other news really... I'll post more through out the day...

Sarah

OK, so I ran 3 miles today and am feeling SO much better. The weather was a little chilly and it felt like fall on the trail around the lake. Just lovely!

Have a great day everyone! Both of my kids are at school, the house is quiet and I have a little time and space to focus on work and myself. It's so nice!!!!
