Lots more of our guests are very close to changing to Sleeping Beauty Castle Pink and I think we will even see some Disneyland Firehouse Red on our marquee very soon. Which leads me to todays topic. :goodvibes

It's no secret that Walt Disney's personal apartment is located about the Disneyland Firehouse and a lamp is left on at all times in his honor. But did you know that there was a real firepole from the apartment to the firehouse? Walt would slide down the fire pole to start work every day. Unfortunately it was covered up after an overzealous guest climbed up and introduced himself to the Disney family.

I gotta ask ... how do you climb UP a firepole? Aren't those things supposed to be down-only?

61 minutes for me this AM ... walking & running. Had my first "good" run of the week - it was nice not to feel terrible at the end of the run!

It can be done. People climb up all sorts of poles, like flagpoles, it's not something I would or could do personally but it can be done. :scratchin

161 minutes so far today and since I enjoy pix13dust's pictures so much I thought I would share a couple from my run this morning with you.

This is Lake Coeur d'Alene and next week this water will be filled with some 2500 people participating in the 2015 Ironman Coeur d'Alene. :cool2:

Thanks for the pic's! I love seeing new places!

We had to do that in elementary school. They had these poles that came down from the ceiling and we were supposed to just climb up. I did not get anywhere. Just like trying to do anything on a high bar.

@lisah0711 thanks for the lovely pictures and tidbits about Disneyland!

It's always nice to have that great run of the week, SarahDisney! :yay:

Rattpack, sounds like the hill work is quickly paying off! :thumbsup2

Flossbolna, I, too, was continually challenged by the high bar in my youth. :rotfl:

I added some walking to my running time yesterday for 218 minutes bringing me to 992/1000. I like having my focus for minutes switch to team minutes during part of the month. :cool2:

BRB with the numbers update and the tidbit of the day. :goodvibes

Lots of excitement for our team today -- colors changing, people in the hub, folks on fire! :cool1: Be sure and check out the marquee in our first post. :rainbow:

And please join me in congratulating sophy1996 who is hanging out in the hub and is Sleeping Beauty Pink.

And please join me in congratulating another guest who boarded Space Mountain and is now Space Mountain Orange: swissfamilyrobinson.

Looks like the hub is filling up so I think it is time to talk about the new fireworks show Disneyland Forever!

The new firework show immerses everyone in the world of Disney using projection mapping. There are more than just one viewing spots as well. You can find projections on the mist screens on Rivers of America, on Main Street U.S.A., on the facade of It’s A Small World, and the Matterhorn.
