Disneyland Churro - $3.75...my love is gone

I don't think $3.75 is that outrageous. And after going to the circus this week, Disneyland concessions seem like a bargain. They wanted $14 for cotton candy, $11 for a snow cone, $5 for bottled water, etc.

Three weeks to DLR for us !

And speaking of unreal prices, try going to a MLB game. Even when I get free tickets to a Yankees or Mets game......I could go broke paying for gas, tolls, parking, etc even before I get to my seat.

$7 hot dogs that the vendors out on the NYC street get $1.50 ? The other day at a Mets game I saw a grilled cheese sandwich being sold for $10.

And concessions at our local Six Flags are probably higher than Disney !

Our family of 5 can't wait to buy churros, even at $3.75 ! We have a HUGE bucket of loose change that we collect every year and will soon cash it in....we consider it 'found' money and we use it for frills at DLR !

I don't get people complaining about high prices in theme parks / ball games / movie theatres. It's the way it is. Convenience is what people pay for.

The most absurd thing is at a grocery or a convenience store, buy a 2-liter coca-cola, and it's 99 cents. Buy a 20-ounce bottle (6 times less cola) and it's $1.59.

For the most part I agree. I know when customers become a captive audience, they will pay more. I am more than willing to pay for frills when I go somewhere, as long as there is quality attached.

Last summer my wife and I went to Dodgers Stadium. We ate in the Stadium club for $36 each. All the food and non alcoholic drinks we wanted for 2 hours. Excellent, gourmet food. As a nearby patron told someone in the club, you can easily spend $20 on a coke and a pizza that tastes just like the cardboard box out in the regular seats.

I could not splurge if I went to DLR every day, but on annual vacations we do. And eating churros is way up on our list ! The churros here on the east coast tend to be sub par.

We get to DL once a year these days if we're lucky. We save all year for the trip, and I don't let a churro price hike get in the way when I want it. I'm gonna have a delicious churro when I go, probably more than one. Actually, definitely more than one.

I could see it being a problem if we were locals with APs and went to the parks frequently, though. Churros for everyone a few times a month could add up pretty darn quick, especially when you include sodas and assorted other snacks.

Wow, what circus was that? I'm glad I stopped going after seeing how bad some of the animals were treated as they marched them down the street a few years ago.

Ha ha even as a local we always buy our churros! Love my churros, but my real downfall is my cream cheese pretzel dipped in nacho cheese! It sounds gross but it's amazing I swear!!

When we go for the day we tend to eat before we go, then just snack our way around the park. We save sit down restaurants for more special occasions or when taking other guests and family. Its just me, my husband and our 4 year old. We share alot mostly to give us variety not necessarily due to cost. We get a big drink and all share, share a turkey leg, corn, etc. It does add up, our ap discount helps, but we manage. It all come down to wanting to enjoy ourselves and if we really want that churro or snack we get it.

Everything everywhere is going up. I mean milk is 4.99 a gallon which is crazy. Disney is pricey but its everywhere it seems these days.

We don't buy Churros at Disneyworld as they aren't cooked fresh at the cart like at Disneyland.

I agree that they are so yummy and I always try to have one on every trip, but I don't think they are made fresh On our last trip, I was at the churro cart near the Many Adventure of Winnie the Pooh and I was handed a churro that when I took a bite... the center was still frozen! The CM said he was really sorry and made me another one and said he would warm it longer and gave me an extra one for free. I dont know how long they are frozen for or where they come from... if they are made at Disneyland somewhere?
