Disneyland Capacity??

I do not know the number (and I don't believe that has ever been made public); however, there are 2 different points of "capacity."

The first is by Disneyland's discretion. When this point is reached, no more tickets are sold, APs are allowed entry, and hand-stamp re-entry / park hopping is allowed.

The second is by the Fire Marshall. When this point is reached, no one is allowed to enter the Park. Period.

SOMETIMES, if it is a day when there is a history of the 2nd level being reached (cough New Years Eve cough), DL will have signs near the exit informing guests that there is not guarantee of re-entry if you should choose to leave the Park.

I would think that the Fire Marshall would make Disney post that number somewhere--I know in restaurants, it has to be posted.

If you could guess, what do you think the average attendance is on normal days(not NYE or 4th of July).
I am trying to gauge the park level attendance for the Miley Cyrus birthday party with only 5,000 tickets. Is that a lot of people in the MK??? I wouldn't think so, but thought I would ask.

Thanks for any input!

Has anyone been there at capacity? I haven't... but I was at Disneyland for it's 50th anniversary and Disneyland was crazy DCA was pretty bare though.

Can you even move at that time? Or is it like trying to walk after fantasmic?

I think I remember reading somewhere that the capacity is 72,000 and that's set by Disney. What I heard is that Disneyland doesn't have a capacity set by the Fire Marshall because it is an outdoor area and only indoor areas have official capacities... but I may be remembering this wrong or may have read inaccurate information.

Does anybody know what the capacity limit is for DL???
It's rumored to be around 80K, although it is not officially stated anywhere (that I have ever known of).

There are signs posted in many buildings in Disneyland. However, there is not a sign for the overall Park maximum capacity.

The party is at Disneyland, not the Magic Kingdom. 5,000 is very low.

Yes. New Year's Eve a few years ago. You could not walk on Main Street (where the festivities and all the people were). It was LITERALLY shoulder to shoulder packed. You could not move. Walking after Fantasmic is the easiest thing in the world by comparison. Did it once. Never never never again.

I was there 3 years ago on a sunday & they would not let anyolne else in. It was crazy!!!! To many peopke but im not sure what the count was.

Semi off-topic, but I love the fact that Disneyland will fit into the parking lot of the Magic Kingdom.

I don't think there is a set capacity as some of it depends on the number of attractions being open (or convesely closed). The more attraction that are operating the more people can "fit."

5,000 is a drop in the bucket.
