Am wondering if there is a DVC in California like at Disney World in Florida? Is there a website available that shows the points? Also a site available where someone may have their points available? Thanks!

There is not a DVC resort in CA, but you can use DVC points to make a reservation at the DLR hotels.
depending upon the room view and dates:
grand californian ranges from 24-93 points per night
dlh ranges from 19-74 per night
pp ranges from 20-74 per night.

DW, DS, and I have used our points to stay twice in California, once at the Grand Californian and once at the Disneyland Hotel. Both we good use of points in our opinion, but GC was better than DH. We are eagerly awaiting any announcement of a DVC at the Disneyland Resort, but nothing like that has come to pass just yet...

I just came back from DL and was told by several guides that they are going to build a DVC in CA next year.

It could all be rumors started by the guides, who knows.

so you did not have any trouble booking? You were not wait listed or anything? I plan to book a Disney Cali vacation this summer and i've wondered if it was going to be a pain to do.

As long as they have available rooms it is very easy - pretty much the same as a DVC resort except that the cancellation rules are different.

We booked GC with no real problem, standard view. (I am frugal with my points.) We ended up with a room right next to onbe of the Presidential Suites on the top floor with a view of California Adventure Park. I don't know if they hold only a certain number of rooms for DVC or not, but we had no problem with the reservation (at how many months out I don't remember ).

I don't believe any rooms are held in reserve for DVC - DVC has to basically pay for the room you want, and then in turn puts a room equivalent of the points you used from your home resort into cash inventory for non-DVC rental.

At least that's how my guide explained in when I asked about the high point costs.

If they ever add on or retrofit rooms (as rumored for the GC) for DVC use, then they ARE held in reserve for DVC (and would be cheaper in points), although I think at a certain point they slip into CRO if they haven't been booked. I somehow think that the rumored 50 rooms will never make it that far.

I actually think that they must hold rooms aside for DVC. Since there are only about 2,600 rooms at the entire DLR property. We live close by and have tried to book thru CRO several time with no success. Rooms are booked MONTHS in advance. There is nothing avaliable for Friday and Saturday nights until september (For example), and yet I read here all the time about people booking DVC rooms quite easily. My bet is that there are some rooms set aside for DVC members.

I have a question... When you stay at the Disneyland Hotels do you get maid service or not?? Since they know you are DVC members do they only give you maid service 1/2 through your visit?

Yes, you get maid service at any of the Disney Collection hotels, In CA or FL.
