We know that on Thanksgiving Day and through that weekend, Disneyland is usually wall-to-wall people. What about the days just before, say the Monday and Tuesday before Thanksgiving......is that as bad or is it maybe a little calm before the storm. Thanks for any Help!

Due to increased number of furlough days for the CA school districts many schools have the entire week off. That combined with Annual Passholders being blocked out Thursday-Saturday of Thanksgiving. Last year's reports showed people thought it was much busier the days before Thanksgiving than the holiday weekend itself. No way would I expect calm.

That line of thinking was accurate until the last couple years. Now the it is the days before TG which are most crowded - largely because of AP blockouts.

See "Understanding AP Blockouts and Impact on Crowds" www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2365983

We went the day after Thanksgiving last year and the crowds weren't bad at all...lots of SoCal peeps hitting the sales I'm sure. Saturday was quite a bit busier though. Anytime school is out there will be crowds so just use Hydroguy's fastpass tips and enjoy your time! Just make sure to see Billy Hill and the Hillbillies!

Will it be more crowded on the Saturday or Sunday of Thanksgiving weekend? Saturday is an AP blockout whereas Sunday is not.

By Sunday afternoon I expect crowds to thin out as people will be heading home.

Went two years ago the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. Busy. I have felt less crowded in summer. I would say VERY Busy.

If you can't go another time, use Fast Pass, Magical Hours and plan your meals for the more "dead times' at the restaurants. Expect long lines for the rides with the holiday overlay. Examples: Haunted Mansion with Nightmare Before Christmas and It's a Small World with Holiday overlay. I have NEVER seen the line for It's a Small World snake around as much as it did. We hit it early in the day and I am glad we did. I would suggest doing it first because of the lines.

And don't expect to see everything because of the crowds. Enjoy the stuff that is there only for the Holidays.

Good Luck,

Thanks for the input!! We figured it would be busy but were just not sure how much so.

We are going to brave it and try to make this trip a little more for the holiday stuff then the typical rides and things.
