Hello all, sorry if this has been asked before but how accurate is the Disneyland app for wait times and fast pass return times? I am going in August and have been using the app the last few days to see what the lines are typically like, and they just seemed shorter than I expected for New Years weekend. I might have just thought it was busier than it actually is, or maybe I'm comparing it to WDW too much. Anyway, I'm just wondering if this app will be a good resource for my trip. Thank you for reading.

I've seen mixed reports on the app's accuracy. But I also saw reports that New Years was not as busy as expected this year, so the times you saw might be right. I had decent luck using the app on my most recent trip, but I just used it as a reference and I didn't verify it's accuracy much.

Ok thanks, it sounds like it's similar accuracy wise to the WDW app then, thank you!

I've used it twice now since it came out and both times I found it to be pretty accurate. Maybe 5-10 minutes off a few times but overall I liked it!

I've generally had the same experience as tlovesdis, in that the app is pretty accurate, but can be about 5 to 10 minutes behind in terms of updating. For example, I was standing near Space Mtn watching the crowds and the FPs just ran out. The App continued to show them as being available for about 5 minutes before updating that they were no longer available. Similar in terms of the wait times; the sign outside the attraction would change and somewhere between 5 and 10 minutes later, the App would show the updated time.

All that being said, you have to use some judgement when it comes to the FPs. There were several times on my last trip (December), where the App indicated that the HM was out of FP, but when I got there, FPs were still available. So, if seems odd that an attraction has run out of FPs, it might be that the App is having trouble connecting to that information source.

The cool thing I enjoy is you can register your AP and use the App to scan in barcode.

Awesome, this was what I was hoping to hear! 5-10 minutes slow is no big deal, it should suffice for planning purposes. Do you think crowds first week of August will be comparable to last week or more busy? Would it be similar to a week in late June or early July?

What do you mean by this? Sorry, I'm not familiar with the Disneyland ticket system
I believe what they mean is that you can load tickets or annual passes into the app and they can scan your phone at the turnstiles instead of the ticket. Please don't trust my word on this - I haven't tried it and I wouldn't want to be responsible for you not being able to enter the parks! Heck, even if someone on here verifies that it works, I'd still be too paranoid not to bring printed ticket vouchers.

Oh that's very interesting! We will definitely be bringing the physical passes as well

My honest thought wouldbe to have the fastpass within the app itself.
Save a tree or 10. Barcode scan and doner.
Off topic but is your avatar a custom Vinylmation? If not what series was it in?
