We are all set and booked for our trip from NJ to CA now in early July 2005 so I will be totally excited from now until then!

Could you DL experts tell me what my DH, daughters 8 & 12 and I should not miss on our trip there? We need all the advice we can get!!

Thank you!!!

Well, I don't know your experience with WDW, but I'm assuming this is your first trip to DL. I have only been to DL in the past decade or more (haven't been to WDW since '88). We love it in California. I would say, the biggest thing not to miss is Fantasmic! Since it's the original, I have heard that it is hands down better than the version they show at WDW. You can't miss it! Also, if you are into coasters, DCA's California Screamin' is a blast! Smoothest coaster I've been on. The Tower of Terror is a must, even though it scares the life out of my every time I ride! And Soarin' Over California, also in DCA, is a wonderful attraction. Of course, you can't go wrong with Splash Mountain and Indiana Jones, either.

I guess I just filled up an entire day for you! ;) Have fun!

the meet & greet with ALL the princesses! now those will be pictues that lasts forever! also downtown disney has a build-a-bear that sells DL exclusives outfits (not sold in any other BAB)!

Except for Star Tours and the 3-D films, there are differences in all the twin attractions (except maybe the fantasyland rides as I didn't ride many of those when I was at WDW), so make sure you go on them. Fantasmic is way better at DL, as is POTC.

My dd and nieces range from 10 - 14 and here are their favorites:

Disneyland:
Peter Pan
Splash Mountain
Indy
POTC
HM
Star Tours
Pooh (not my fave - but they really like it)
Storybook boats
Fantasmic
Roger Rabbit
Lunch at Blue Bayou (a family fave - not to be missed!! ask for a table by the water)

DCA:
Soarin
Tough to be a bug
Muppets
Screamin
Jumpin Jellyfish (again not my fave - but they love it)
Tortilla factory tour (I think they just like the tortillas)
Alladin show

They also love Goofy's Kitchen, we usually do one character meal there and Build-A-Bear.
