Hi all, we will be traveling to Disneyland next week for the first time. WDW has increasingly been hotter and hotter the past few times we have visited and I am not talking about the outside temperature. The rides, attractions, and shops all seem to be overly warm.

Does Disneyland suffer from this as well?

Yes, it can be hot but it is a different hot...usually not the humid mucky hot. Those days are rare. It is a much "dryer" heat...still heat, but it is much more tolerable than the East coast.

The AC feels good at Disneyland in theaters and buildings. I haven't paid enough attention on the dark rides, but they're definitely cooler than outside. I think the lower humidity helps with inside temps too.

I can tolerate DLR in the summer. I really can't tolerate WDW in the summer. The lower humidity makes a huge difference. And maybe we've just been lucky, but the times we've been there when it's really hot, it's always cooled down in the evenings.

We're here now. Back in the room cooling off at the moment. Some stores on Main Street were very nicely air conditioned. I think a lot has to do with how many exterior doors they have. Or how many folks are crowded inside. The lack of humidity is awesome but some of the queues have little shade and the midday sun is stunning! Nice and cool inside all the indoor rides in our opinion.
Not very breezy today either. Here's hoping that's a good sign for fireworks later! Enjoying every minute!!

The relentless, breezeless, round-the-clock-no-relief-heat is the kind I cant take and So. Cal does get it- just not that much thankfully. I think though it will be hot it will be what most consider tolerable with thoughtful planning, a few accessories, and lots of iced drinks.

The queues at DLR are outside which is apparently weird for WDW vets but seems totally normal to me. Many don't have enough shade by a long shot but a frog togs towel and lots of cold drinks and sunblock and a mist/fan thingy does go a long way. Most people tolerate it well enough-I dont-but most people do.

I've only ever frozen from AC at DL. Honestly I don't remember ever being inside at DL during summer thinking it was too hot. Don't worry about it!

If you're desperate to cool off, the Animation Academy at DCA is awesome. The A/C always seems to work in there. I've never really had a problem with the A/C at Disneyland/DCA. I think there are probably a handful of rides that are warmer, but most are fine. I went last summer when it was in the 100s and it was tolerable once you got inside. Also, assuming Anaheim feels anything like where I live 90 minutes north, it's a dry heat right now, which is much better than when we get monsoon heat. Even that is better than Florida. Waiting in lines in the sun was the hardest part and I do recommend one of those water bottle fans.

We went to day and it was hot but I thought all the indoor rides felt great inside and even in the shady areas of Splash Mountain felt good. I highly suggest to just take advantage of those fastpasses and even single rider lines if your party is so inclined. That saves a lot of waiting in the hot sun like for the Matterhorn. We were there from 9-5 and we got 7 fastpasses during that time so I never felt like we were sitting in the direct sun. Made a lunch reservation at River Belle Terrace and it was nicely air conditioned inside.

In DCA little mermaid is a lifesaver when I'm feeling hot. most of the queue is even inside.

I feel hot there in winter so it depends on you & where you're from.

I keep my house 69 degrees all summer and I think the rides have great AC at Disneyland. On some of them its even cold!!

We have always found the inside attractions to be cool and comfortable.
I give Disney a lot of credit for keeping the AC working hard in those places. It would be an easy (but crummy) place to save a few bucks.

I think Disneyland uses IASW as supplemental meat storage facility, so you can go there for a 15 minute quick freeze :) Great moments with Mr. Lincoln is always well cooled too.

We were there a few weeks ago when it approached 100 and we did fine. When we got a bit too warm we found an attraction with A/C. Some rides and the monorail do have issues with the extreme heat in DL so do beware; however the buildings are well cooled.
