This is true. I personally have a lot of Disney things, but most are in a box in the closet, used in my kitchen, are small enough to be on display, go on the Christmas tree or are in my jewelry box. I have a lot of things I've gotten over the years that were "must-haves" at the time that have rarely seen the light of day since--Gold anniversary ears, Dream ears, a leather anniversary purse, and things like that. Now I generally stick with clothing or small items and not many of those things, either. I do wish they had nicer jewelry like they used to but most of it is junk or well out of my pay range.
But every now and then something special catches my eye...which doesn't mean it fares better than its predecessors once I get home. Truth is I'm better off with wearable items.
And speaking of BB-8, my son (adult with a family) begged me to get him one one year, which was not fun to get home, since I flew with carry-on only, but worth it to see the joy on his face

. He also asked me if I could get him some kind of SW
Lego thing--I think it was a spaceship of some sort--and that was my introduction into the world of adult Lego sets. I was foolishly expecting a little box that would cost around $25 which was far, far off the mark
