Disneyland 70th speculations and news

They’re heavily promoting Halloweentime on social media, but not yet in the parks.

There’s definitely a battle between. Peter Pan and Hook definitely have a fight. Usually the characters are stationary only when it’s windy. Not sure what happened… I heard they cancelled the shows on Saturday so maybe some backend issues?

Hades is in the DHS version, never was in DL.
I meant to reply to this as the next night I was able to go by during the 2nd show and Peter was up towards the top of the ship fighting hook and swinging around.

There is no Halloween thread so I'll update entertainment here. Let me know if you find something that is wrong or entertainment that is not on the list.

They are slowly removing the 70th merchandise. The make-your-own headband plushies are reduced from $11.99 to $7.99 (must purchase 3).

@KPeterso are you still looking for this? I saw an entire rack today.

This is why during the Disney100 and then the DL70 celebrations I didn't wait until the fall to go (and Disney's fall starts early). I want the full celebration experience, including merch, before Halloween and Christmas holidays take over!

It is strange that DCA and DIsneyland don;t have 70th Merch themed to Halloween

Seems like an easy win

I did finally get the hoodie! About 2-3 weeks ago when I was there I was finally able to get it. Bought it so fast. Have not been able to wear it yet due to the current high temps!

They still have 70th decorations in DTD and DL.

Lots of Haunted Mansion merch this year.
Sure but a 70 years of spooks or something with the 70th logo looking spooky would be cool

I go all the time but people coming once a year or 5 years might want something saying I went both at the 70th and it was Halloween or Christmas time...not too much merch but a T shirt or two would be cool

Honestly it didn't even occur to me that they'd be removing it so quickly when it goes for a year..! Labor Day does not scream end-of-summer to me either though. Its my favorite season, and I drag every last drop out of it until the equinox!

To Celebrate 70 years of Disneyland...the park hours of the park are being cut to 11 PM this Starts The Monday of Labor day through September

No More Might night Disneyland for now this affects weekends and weekdays

As much as people want 70th merch and treats all year, there are just as many (or maybe more) who are looking forward to the Halloween & Christmas merch & treats.

My guess is that they will offer a second wave of Disney 70th merch and treats in the spring.

It seems like if you didn't come in the first couple months you lose out on a lot of the celebration

The 70th celebration started on May 16 so it has been 3 mos. It was announced early that parts of the celebration would pause for the holidays. What are you looking for that you are losing out on?

Totally and I think that's all well and good. However going into holiday mode before labor day...? With weeks left of summer? Got me blindsided a bit - I was honestly shocked when OBB tickets dropped that there was an overlap with our trip this week. I usually keep holidays in their lane at home - Halloween gets October, and Christmas doesn't start until Thanksgiving dinner is cleaned up (US here, so 4th Thursday in Nov, I guess we start that one a little early!).

I did check and it was a September start up until '24, so I'm not that far behind on the times at least.

WDW is just as early as Disneyland. In fact, they started Halloween a couple of days earlier. But it isn't just Disney. Other stores (Costco, Lowes, Home Goods, etc) are promoting their Halloween merchandise as well..
