Disneyland 70th speculations and news

They’ve confirmed the parade will run through August 2026 but have not indicated if it will be paused.

Some cast members reported that Disney had asked them to commit through next summer, due to the large cast, rehearsal time and custom customs. I think this why people believe it will run continuously.

However, other cast members are suggesting that after the summer season has concluded, the parade will pause until next May. So we will have to wait and see.

The parade is labor intensive and has a high operating cost. Many expect that it will be permanently retired following the end of next summer. Maybe Disney is running out of storage space?

A popular theory in some fan communities is that a duplicate of the parade coming to the Magic Kingdom will make its way to DLR. IMO, if that was the plan, they would’ve built out both parades at the same time as it would’ve reduced cost… and premiered in time for the 70th.

My thoughts on parade times:
  1. It gives people time to get from Fantasmic or WOC to PTN. My guess is that sales of dining and dessert packages dropped when PTN started. By pushing back the second parade, it allows guests to enjoy more entertainment and allows Disney to sell more packages.
  2. Fantasmic moved to 9:05 pm and fireworks moved to 9:35 pm. By pushing the first PTN parade back by 5 minutes, it puts everything on track for how they originally intended for it to be. The real question is why did they need to push Fantasmic back by 5 min?
  3. A 10:45 parade finishes Main Street around 11:15. Maybe they found that too many people were rushing into the park for one last attraction. An 11:00 parade finishes Main Street around 11:30 and finishes at Small World at 11:40 pm. By pushing the second parade back by 15 min, guests are more likely to leave after the parade. It may be a more efficient way to clear the park.

You are correct. My Better Together Parade dessert party reservations were changed from the early afternoon time to the later afternoon time. Disneyland called me while I was on my trip to get me my new reservations which I got. When I asked why the change she said there was soft demand for the BTP Dessert Party at the first time and second time and Disneyland decided to do the party for the late afternoon parade.

When I ate at Plaza Inn once, I asked the manager about the PTN dining packages, he said the bookings started out strong but have gotten softer as time goes by. He thinks it is a combination of the viewing area and the menu offerings.

Not that I know of other than opening Walt Disney A Magical Life and the last verse being added to Small World.

We were there for Disney's 100th (10/16/23) when they didn't do anything. Yesterday they released a MK t-shirt that has the date July 17, 2025 and says "I was there." To me, that is promising that they are going to do something. At least they are acknowledging the date.
Thanks..
I also flew in for the 100th and nothing :(

I have the trip booked for the 17th but still on the fence about going..

Does anyone know how long Rex will be out for?

Is it also confirmed that Perry the Platypus is only out Saturdays?
Cast members told us to expect Rex until August... I'm guessing Halloween season is the cutoff.

Perry is supposed to be out Saturdays only, but apparently last Saturday he had the day off :( We were there.

I haven't heard anything about dates. What I have heard is that lines are long.
