Disneyland 70th speculations and news

Thanks for sharing!

Did you end up using the spot on Main Street for PtN? I’m trying to figure out what to do for PtN and WJ.
Nope… I ended up in the curbside in MainStreet to have a good view of projections/fireworks :)

That reserve seating might be good in the weekdays without fireworks…

Does anyone know pls who can use the reserved seating area they have at Its Small World?

If VIP groups sit in front of the castle, tours/Plaza Inn standing in Town Square; who goes there then?

Thanks

Also curious. That would have been amazing for the tour.

MMRR as the lightning lane is a bit meh for the tour as well. It’s way too new a ride to feel special.
Honestly wish they left the Main Street tour.

It’s not reserved seating right? It’s just a reserved view?

Parking was also empty today. My guess is that locals are going to arrive later so they can stay for the nighttime entertainment. It that holds, it means visitors will get more hours of low crowds in the morning.

We are doing a staycation so I'm posting from my phone. Please forgive any typos.

Below are pictures of the $99 castle box next to a pair of 5-6" glasses. The 10x10 cube I was thinking about was the snow globe.
Thanks for all the great pictures and updates of everything! It's appreciated :)

I need this castle.

The Small World area is used by VIP guests. Not sure who was at the hub, but then entire side was roped off.

Hi.. I got here on Thursday night and will return home tomorrow.

A) 70th tour
I did today; wouldn’t recommend it or do it again.
The guide was fun, and kept us entertained with DL history tips, however nothing that hasn’t been widely known before (ie, how was the experience of the multitudes on opening day, what opening day attractions are still running..)

Highlight was some Walt Disney audio nuggets in the audio device through the tour. And a very nice pin.

The LL was Mickey Minnie railroad. The seating area is for the first PTN parade near the flag pole in Town Square, facing the street.

The tour started at Main Street, went into cinema to show Steamboat cartoon. The tour audio device played some original advertising radio messages. Then we walked to hub area; then walked into Fantasyland, some comments on opening day attractions plus the refurb led by T. baxter. We jumped to the railroad to ride to New Orleans station.

When we got into NewOrleans square the audio device tour had Walt Disney talking about this square, and how he wanted the experience to be, the river atmosphere etc; very nice. We jumped into Mark Twain ship, some commentary on the history of it.

Then we walked towards Frontierland, here we got a 10mins break. Then walked to Small World, and then we finished at the Pixar mural in the theater.

I’m not sure I will watch the PTN parade in that seating area as I like seeing castle projections but will decide later today.

B) 70th entertainment
- PTN parade is a very good one. Music and visuals are very catchy IMO. Lots of performers doing their very best. Totally worth it.
- Wondrous fireworks. It is my favorite ever and above HEA which I adore LOL. Yesterday I sat down in front ot the castle around 6pm (!)
- the Cavalcade. It is nice but I didn't like it as much, it felt an afterthought, or not as fun as it could have been if they approach to it as the It’s a good time at MK, very interactive and just couple of floats needed.
- the Tapestry of Happiness. Awesome, the music and projections are so emotional and well done.
- Better together parade is very fun to watch.

C) 70th merch
A lots! But nothing that got me feeling “I need this”, so.. I haven’t purchased a thing so far.

Parks are clean and beautiful as always, thr 70th anniversary is just another excuse for me traveling here again :)
Forgot to mention World of Color show… it is awesome! Upbeat, so well done.. highly recommended…

(And yes it is a reserved viewing area (Towm Square), not seating)

For the WOC dining package, I have had no luck getting any restaurant to show up except for Magic Key Terrace.
Anyone been able to book Wine Country or Storyteller's?

To answer my own question, apparently you cannot directly book the WOC dining package for Wine Country or Storyteller's in advance.
You must book a regular dining reservation, and let them know at check in that it is for the dining package. How that will work in real time remains to be seen!

Does anyone know where stroller parking is for the WOC dessert party? Is there somewhere near the entrance or off to the side of the viewing area?

I realize it can't go into the table area, but hopefully not all the way over by the water wheel.

I just read on FB that they're bringing back the special *free photo tour with a PP CM in the land of your choice (except Galaxy's Edge)! That's a pretty cool perk. My friend and I tried it out some months back when they were testing it out.

*free with top 2 passes, or if you purchased PP. It also said if you had LL so I'm guessing that's the daily or premier--not sure.

Great! It's funny you posted this because I was just going to ask if this was still going on. I hope to try it!

So, I'm having SERIOUS FOMO and thinking about a quick trip July 13-15. Will all the evening entertainment be available on July 13 and 14 (a Sunday and a Monday)? I'm most concerned about seeing Tapestry of Happiness, but I'm not seeing it on the current calendar even online.

Here's a little more information about the free PhotoPass shoot.

-Runs from 12-7 PM daily
-The line is at the entrance to Frontierland. Look for the rope and the PP CM.
-It's free
-It's about 10 or so minutes
-You can choose any land but Galaxy's Edge, but keep in mind that walking is part of the 10 minutes
-This is a personal tour so it's just you/you and your party
-I have read that the CMs get a lunch break but can't confirm
-People have reported being able to wear/have specialty items in the shoot, like cap & gown
-Pictures will be on PP

I remember back when you did it a couple of years back maybe? And I think you did like an adventure land one or maybe it was for Tiki day? I can’t remember, but I remember you writing about it and it made me really wanna do it but I think the next trip I had after that they weren’t offering it.

I’m excited to see its back and hoping that it stays until the end of July

I wish Disney would stop naming things that lead to duplicate abbreviations! At first I thought "PP" meant Peter Pan, but then I wondered, why would a Peter Pan CM take you around other lands?

Then I figured it was [Lightning Lane] Premier Pass. That made sense until I saw some other people's postings that indicate you were referring to PhotoPass. Is that correct? You can get this "tour" with any PhotoPass purchase, including LLMP?

For anyone who has done the new magic band ticket interactive kiosks - if you are both a DVC member and Magic Key holder what does it say on your ticket?

Sunday for sure, fireworks run that day..

The rest of the week days they usually do projections, can’t think on a reason for not doing Tapestry… I can’t swear by it though LOL..
