Well, I decided I'm going through with this trip. I broke my toe on Sunday.I kind of went back and forth, but I'm going. I'll probably end up just walking it. But let's be honest, my "run" is pretty much a walk, just with more sweat.
So I'll be on the first flight out on Friday morning!!! First trip to Disneyland!!!

Thanks. My runs have really been walks. As I was starting to gear up for more running during my training, my muscles were insanely tight so I went back to walks in order to train and not have to quit because of the pain and tightness. I'm about 15 minutes per mile right now.
I'm still freaking out about this half. I'm just happy that in 4 days I will be done with it and wont be stressing out anymore and will hopefully be able to enjoy the parks!
Good luck to everyone running/walking the 5k/half!![]()
Wendy, is this your first Half? You'll be fine!
Does anyone know the date for this race in 2012? Is it the same weekend (Labor Day weekend)?
Quick question for the more experienced runners. I know that you should eat pasta for dinner the night before the race, but I'm not sure about what time I should eat.
Also, what sorts of foods should I eat the day before the race and what kinds of foods should I avoid?
What should I have as my first meal after the race? What, if anything, should I avoid?
And keep in mind that I'm basically limited to quick service meals in the DLR, including DTD. Thanks in advance and for the encouragement.

After the race, the general rule is to try to get something with some protein within the first 30 min. after finishing. I don't know what's at the finish line area, but chocolate milk, or something similar, is very good for this.

I did one last month and everything went wrong, wrong, wrong. I survived, but it was just a horrible experience.

I think the main thing is to eat familiar foods so you don't upset you stomach with something new.
