Disneygoof's WW Journal (comments welcome)

Congrats on getting started. We'll get there together. :bounce:

Thanks for the file too!

Cheers :)

Yesterday's points-32
Yesterday's exercise-Day 1, C25K, +1

So my points were a bit high, but my mother makes this beef tip dinner that I never turn down. I have to estimate the points, and I tend to do that high, but I'll keep my points low over the next few days to compensate anyway. It's only 6 points over b/c of the exercise, but I guess I should check my point range now that I've lost some more weight.

My walk was one of those where I had every excuse not to go (wake, weather, wimp) but my hubby came home in the middle of the day and when I asked him how long he'd be there, he said 45 minutes; just enough time for me to go and get back. That's a success, because I had already decided to skip it, but I got it in anyway.

Have a magical day!

I think the weird weight loss is slowing down, but my points have been up, so I hope I don't gain.

Yesterday's success, only one and a half piece of pizza at a birthday party, and no cake or ice cream. And I started with salad so I didn't overdo on the 'za. If I'm approaching maintenance, I'm trying to think of new ways to challenge myself. Someone should start a summer maintenance challenge, with the goal not to gain any weight during these tough summer months. I hope to be at goal by 7/4, and hope to still be at goal come Labor Day.

Yesterday's points-25
Yesterday's exercise-none.

Have a magical day!

Best wishes on your C25K program!! I think having a C25K buddy will be a big help to both of you!

Congrats on eating right at the birthday party!! :sunny:

Hey DisGoof-
You are doing so well- keep it up. I am going to try to check in on your journal more often- we are both on WW so I can relate to what you're talking about. Actually, I am only 'going through the motions' of WW because I didn't actually join- I just got the info and am following it. Do you get to eat more points if you excersise?
Anyway- sorry to bog down your journal with my questions- this journal is about YOU not me (I can be so egocentric- sorry)
Good luck in the homestretch (getting to goal by 7/4)
:cheer2:You can do it!!! :cheer2:

Hey Cheapmom! Thanks for stopping by! I don't mind responding, really, because I don't get enough time to stop by other's journals as much as I'd like, and it's nice to get some feedback. Also, they say you can reinforce knowledge by teaching it, right?

So with exercise points, yes, you do gain points by exercising. I don't remember what size you are, but in effect, I gain 1 point by 30 minutes of moderate activity, like walking. Light gains less, intense gains more. There's a "pointsbooster" slide, like the point sliderule. You could probably put a call out online and see if anyone has an extra. I don't, or I'd offer to send it to you. If you let me know your weight, I can give you some general guidelines.

So, psychologically, if you exercise you can eat more, and it helps when you drop to a new, lower, point range, to not crash because you can't eat as much as you normally do. Non-wwers probably can't understand how important 2 points can be, but they can make or break some days for me!

This, you should know, is from the 123 Success program that I followed with ww at work a few years back and stuck with because I did have success with it. I just do it at home, on my own, too, no meetings, no formal weigh-ins. 18-25 pts per day, more if I gain points from exercise. If I eat more than 25 points on a given day, I try to eat less than 25 points on the following days to balance it out. VERY IMPORTANT: this is from before they gave carrots points. I still count them as free. Nobody can make me count carrots.

So to check in:

Thursday's points-15 (by mistake, I was saving points for a salad I never had because it got late-don't want to slow my metabolism!)
Thursday's exercise-none. Missed day two of C25K, but I'm not worried about it. My shinsplints were acting up, so I took it easy, but I'm getting back out there tomorrow, and I hope to buy some new sneaks Monday. It shouldn't stop me.

Friday's points-22
Friday's exercise-none. Well, Happy had a field day so I was out and about all morning, and played with the kids in the yard in the afternoon. Nothing formal.

Challenge of the day, child's birthday party. At least I'll get some exercise in the moon walk.

Have a magical day!

Thanks for the info Disneygoof- I am on almost the same eating plan as you- I am under 150 so I use 20 points as my target but I add 2 points for each time I nurse DS (only about 2 times a day)
That explaination was really helpful- thank you-
Have fun in the moon bounce!:sunny:

Saturday and Sunday-off program, which probably will be my maintenance thing, diet during the week, take a break on the weekends, but until I reach goal, I have to stay serious.

Yesterday's points-22.5
Yesterday's exercise-none.

Have to restart the C25K program (sorry Beams!). Hopefully I can get a walk in today. The weather is BEAUTIFUL, so I should be able to get it done.

Cheapmom, for 140-150 pounds, and this is an estimate, you gain 1 point for 15-40 minutes of light activity, 15-30 minutes of moderate activity, and 15 minutes of high activity. 2 points for 45-60 minutes of light activity, 35-50 minutes of moderate activity, 15-20 minutes of high activity. Light activities are those that don't make you sweat, like stretching or walking at a leisurely pace. Mocerate are activities that probably make you sweat, including walking at a fast pace, or biking. High activities are those that make you sweat like jogging, running, competitive swimming or biking.

Have a magical day!

Hi Runnin' buddy.

No worries about restarting. I figure it doesn't matter if we're at different points, we can still cheer each other on. :)

I used to get wicked shinsplints too, so I can sympathize there. I hope you managed to get some new sneaks - having the proper shoes is what helped me work through my 'splints. Makse a big difference.

Sounds like you had a fun weekend. I love those moon walk things .. although no one wants to let a 26 year old bounce anymore .. it's age-ism, I tell ya! :teeth: .

Good luck with your walk tonight. Enjoy the great weather.
Cheers,
Caroline

Hi Disneygoof- thanks for that explaination about points/excersise. Very helpful. My husband has a business associate who rents those moon bounces and the guy came up and set the moon bounce in our yard for free. It was great because it was just our family and 2 kids from the block. We had the whole thing to ourselves.

Definately the funniest way to burn calories ever!
Wishing you a lovely, OP day!

Yesterday's points-28
Yesterday's exercise-walked 25 minutes, 1 point

Close to getting back on track. The weight is falling off again, so that should inspire.

Have a magical day!

Well, I was basically low in points on 2/4, high on one and off program on one. I gained back whatever seemed to be coming off, but it could be water. Anyway, with three weeks left to 7/4, I'm moving!

Yesterday's points-25
Yesterday's exercise-none.

Today is a brand new magical day!

Yesterday's points-47 lol, at least I was counting...
Yesterday's exercise-walked 30 minutes

1 pound to doc goal, 6 to July 4. Just reminding myself of the goal.

Have a magical day!

Yesterday's points-9 up to dinner, then it was special so I didn't hold back.
Yesterday's exercise-none.

Have a magical day!

Tuesday's points-24
Wednesday's points-25

Down another pound, so I've reached the goal the doctor and I discussed. Just five more pounds to reach my final, and July 4th goal. I think I can, I think I can.

Still no formal exercise, but today I'm going to the beach so I'll be quite active.

Have a magical day!

Yesterday's points-24
Yesterday's exercise-the beach with Happy and Sleepy

Have a magical day!

Yesterday's points-21
Yesterday's exercise-still nothing formal, though I did walk a lot during the normal course of the day.

Have a magical day!

Saturday's points-25
Saturday's exercise-none.

Sunday-off program

I keep writing "exercise-none" but I refuse to stop considering it as a factor. So close to goal, I know I've got to exercise to keep it off. When will the inspiration occur?

Have a magical day!

You are doing the right thing- keep reminding yourself that you need to excersise even if you can't bring yourself to do it. I have had to take excersise respites and I have gotten back on track each time-
You are doing great- your goal is close in sight- you can do it
-KEEP YOUR EYES ON THE PRIZE!
