Disneygoof's WW Journal (comments welcome)

So sorry to hear of the sadness in your family. :(

You sound like you're ready to get back on program, though. Starting the exercise should be very helpful - you can walk away a lot of stress AND have some time to yourself to think.

Best wishes for a good day! :sunny:

Well, I'm feeling better already, just two days back on track.

Yesterday I not only started the Couch to 5K program, I printed out the schedule, complete with dates, and posted it on the fridge so I can track my progress in a public way. THEN, I found that the race I hope to run coincidentally runs on what would be the last day of the program if I started yesterday, so I started yesterday. THEN, I checked out the race online and found out the deadline for registration was the this week, so I printed out the forms, and mailed them while on my walk yesterday. FINALLY, I told my sis-in-law and hubby that I was going to try to run it and they both offered to run it with me. I think subconsciously I'm trying to shame myself into keeping with this one!

Yesterday's exercise-Day 1 of 48 on Couch to 5K program (1/48 C25K), 2 points

Have a magical day! I'm having one!

Still looking, but I think I'm getting warm...

Yesterday's points-28, a bit high, but I've had steak tips for the past two days for dinner, and my snacks are up due to increased exercise
Yesterday's exercise-www +1, bowling and a walk +1, 2 pts.

Fitting in a walk today will be a challenge, but I'll get it done!

Have a magical day!

Yesterday's exercise-C25K 2/48 +2

A good day but I wasn't feeling that great so no hungries.

Going to a swimming party today so that's my exercise; I think I'll bring a couple salads along for the adults so I don't eat chicken fingers and pizza.

I'm glad I found the WISHers, because it is keeping me honest and motivated. I'm looking forward to my Mother's Day weigh in on Monday.

Have a magical day!

Well, I didn't swim that aggressively, but I spent some good, quality veg out and chat time with my sister-in-laws, so that's important. And the salad scheme carried through to dinner; brought a salad for lunch 2 pts for dressing and 1 for the pita, and then when we ordered pizza for dinner, I got a tossed salad with grilled chicken from Papa Gino's-boy was it small, but it had enough chicken to carry me through, plus a left over pita from lunch, for 5+1+1 for low cal dressing, 7 points instead of the 16 two slices would have cost me.

And I thought I was so smart at the pool, I ate a bag of goldfish, nice, controlled portion, read the label and estimated 3 points...well, gotta start carrying my slide ruler (geek) with me again, cuz those little bags of goldfish are 5 POINTS! That's a big snack for me. Oh well, at least I didn't eat a whole box of cheez-its.

And my brother made fun of me "Oh, when you start using three initials for diet terms, you're on a really serious diet"...as if he couldn't figure that out when I made them get me a salad and I picked off the croutons...he's dieting himself so he was just kidding. Anyway, I got a chance to say, "Well, BMI means Body Mass Index and it's a number medical experts say everyone should watch now, like cholesterol and blood pressure". I'm such a smarty pants. Then my sister-in-law asked how to calculate it and I said "You find a website that has a calculator and let them do it for you". Divide what by what? I don't think so.

Yesterday's Points-22
Yesterday's Exercise-0, well a bit of swimming, but I'll count yesterday as my day off, and exercise today instead.

Have a magical day!

Yesterday's points-27.5
Yesterday's exercise-none. Just didn't get there. I'd like to blame it on the sick Sleepy, but I didn't make the time.

Today's points-Unknown, wedding shower, didn't do badly, skipped the potato salad, but unknowns on the salmon philo, and cheesy potatoes. At least I recognize I'm full and done for the day.
Today's exercise-C25K 3/48-yes I exercised, BEFORE the shower, because I knew there'd be mimosas, and no chance afterward.

On my way outside to play with the dwarfs!

Have a magical day!

So last night I put the bottle of wine back in the fridge (without pouring a glass), grabbed a bottle of water, and sat down to figure out what the wedding shower really cost me. I figured that the food and drink at the shower probably amounted to 27 points, plus an addidtional 5 throughout the day for a total of 32. I've done worse.

Disneygoof- I just discovered your journal- That Dave Barry article killed me.
Sorry about the deaths in your family. I wouldn't bother to worry about points during stuff like that. If it means your goal date gets pushed back by a week or 2 so be it. We are human and life is full of detours.
You seem like you are pretty well in control. I would say that if you lose all your baby fat during your baby's 1st year that is remarkable. And you are doing VERY well.
Baby showers, holidays, dinner parties- the way I see it they are unavoidable- just do well when you can and those 'bad days' won't really matter overall.
I could never get a "cheat free" bar because I would always be resetting it- If I am OP 6 days out of 7- that is good enough for me.
KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK

Thanks Cheapmom! I started to return the post but got kicked out of the loop...must have been distracted by Happy and Sleepy for too long.

We may be taking a half-business trip to Disney in June ourselves...it was supposed to be Sans-Dwarfs, but childcare issues may prevent that. I think a surprise for 4 year old Happy might be a great way to do it!

Well, I started to exercise yesterday but have been experiencing shoulder pain so I stopped the Weight Watchers Workout and emailed my doctor. I had a similar shoulder/chest pain situation a few years back and they never determined the cause; they thought it was related to TMJ, but I thought it better to be safe than sorry. I'll just concentrate on C25K for now. Ibuprofen seems to help so I'm not overly concerned...except for the flab that is sure to result from all my fabulous weight loss! Oh, how I long for chickeny arms.

Yesterday's exercise-called off for chest/shoulder pain

Have a magical day!

OK, so I'm hitting a speed bump with my exercise, but I REFUSE to let it become a road block! I need to adjust my C25K schedule this week, I knew making time was going to be a problem, but with sick babies (including hubby) and work, it's getting tough this week! I hope to get in the walk when I get to work tonight.

Yesterday's points-27
Yesterday's exercise-none

Have a magical day!

A sick family - never fun!! Do your best to work in the exercise, but if push comes to shove, the family needs to come first. You've done a great job of setting a goal and working toward it! Your race in August sounds fabulous!!

Hang in there - you're doing just fine!! :sunny:

Oh dear, I have been through the sick family routine a few times lately- it is lots of work for the mom. Hang in there, honey.
Your use of the term "sans-dwarfs" made me laugh. We did a sans-dwarfs "business" trip to WDW in 2001 and I couldn't stop thinking about them the whole time.
(The kids were 4&5 at the time, we said we were going on a business trip to Florida- and when we got back my DS (4) saw my Mickey Mouse baseball cap and said 'HEY- did you go to DisneyWorld without us'- major guilt)
So maybe if daycare... doesn't work out it is just fate intervening for a reason and you will all have a great family trip.
Keep On Truckin',
Mary

Just can't get the family healthy...I'm the only one who has avoided the flu...now if I had only avoided the Tostitos. I know my triggers; I should keep them out of the house unless I am willing to 5 point them, one serving of chips 3 pts, 1 serving of cheese, 2 pts, salsa free...even as the emotional eating is happening I'm allowing it. Yesterday I said, "Today is the day I do not get skinny." Oh well, today's the day I get back on track.

Yesterdays points, 19 plus two tostito binges.
Yesterdays exercise-does cleaning up the bathroom and doing laundry after Happy gets sick count? Sorry to be so graphic, but that is how I spent my day. No regrets, I love my job.

Still no clippie and summer's a comin'...

OK, so no binges yesterday, cooked rather than nuking food-made ziti with turkey sauce so I'm eating wholesome rather than pre-processed foods, they really do fill me up more, and froze half for emergencies. That will cut out my "there's nothing in the house" excuse for a bit. Still no exercise but I didn't plan for it-I looked up at 9, saw it was dark out, and said, "shoot, I forgot to walk". So today I plan to get the walk in as soon as the hubby gets home.

And I can't get more public than organizing a challenge; if that doesn't keep me honest and get me to goal by goal date, nothing will.

Yesterday's points-22
Yesterday's exercise-none.

Still looking for my shadow...

I feel like I'm missing some posts, oh well, must be the fever.

Three words, big fat flu. It was only a matter of time...

Points and exercise for last three days, none. Well, a little ginger ale and toast, but nothing significant, or even amounts I can remember.

Just hoping for return to health for Mother's Day.

Have a magical day everyone!

Still not eating much, no exercise. Recovery is my first priority. I feel like I've been hit by a mack truck.

Sending you a gentle  and some extra healing :wizard: . I hope you're feeling better soon! I also hope that your family is taking good care of you, since you took such good care of them when they were sick! ::yes::

Hope you are feeling better. Hopefully that nasty bug will be out of your house for good. Take care.

Thanks for the well wishes Doreen and Wilderness01!

Today is the day I do get skinny. Getting back on track. I was going to wait until Sunday because I have a wedding tomorrow but decided not to procrastinate. Going shopping to load up on healthies today.

Have a magical day!
