Also for the land and sea traveler....by the time you get through the first night on DCL after being at the parks are you Disneyed out or do you not really notice that it is a *Disney* ship?

We have done 2 seven day cruises both preceded by a week at the parks and I can honestly say that we never felt over Disneyed. Even given the fact that me, my DH and DD are Disneyholics (my 2 DSs are at the age - 13 - where all such things are pronounced "cheesy"), I think that we are not untypical in what we found. I suspect that you can make the cruise as Disney or non-Disney as you wish. Yes, there are characters about and Disney shows etc. but there are also plenty of places and activities on board which are simply wonderful just because of what they are and are not overtly Disney. Altogether it is just a great experience and I can't wait to go back for our next 7 day in October (which is preceded by 7 days at the parks and followed by 2 more days at the parks before we fly home).

Not at all - the ship isn't over the top Disney. Don't get me wrong, there is a lot of character interaction and entertainment, just different than the land portion. If you are tired of Disney (heaven forbid), the ship has a really subtle Mickey influence in the background. Pictures on the walls, hidden Mickey's in the detailing, overall very sophisticated. I love the ship's horn - don't miss that! If you don't want to see the characters, you just don't go to their meet and greets. The ship atmosphere is kind of like the Grand Floridian IMO - elegant but not stuffy.

DCL is a much more subtle Disney experience. Truthfully, aside from the shows (which are fantastic) and Animator's Palate, if you really wanted you could be on the ship and barely realize it is Disney. Of course, if you're looking for Disney, there's plenty to be found. The Characters are in the Atrium. They also put in appearances at the deck parties. Like I said before the shows are amazing and animator's Palate has lots of familiar Disney faces on the walls.

DCL is a very relaxing. I'm sure you'll love it!!

The only other way you'll realize you're on a Disney ship is the impeccable customer service.:D

We spent 4 days at WDW and then got on board for a 7day western. I was 'Disney'd' out after the 4 days at the world, but completely rejuvenated once on board. The ships are not over Disney-fied in the least, just the right amount.

:sunny: I could never be Disneyed out! I could Disney 24/7.

Yee haa! My wltdsnyfan buddy! You took the words right outta my mouth. After my last 3/4 land/sea, I was crying that we had to leave. I cannot get enough Disney, but all of these other posts are right. The DCL cruise is the perfect mix of Visual Mickeys and Hidden Mickeys, and as we all know, Disney wrote the book on customer service.

You will love it or I will eat my Minnie ears!!!

In case anyone else wants to join in, wltdsnyfan and I met on these Boards, and will meet in person when we get to Disney on the SAME DAY! Anybody else going on July 29th/August 1st?
