We have been to the last two Disneyana Conventions but did not register for 2002. Today the AP rates came out for the summer so I secured a room at ASMu for $69 ($77.62). I am not sure what to do about Disneyana. We will probably just register me for the event so I can get the pieces. Milton will just wander around and meet me afterwards. That means I can go to the theme park party by myself and just meet up with the gang. The third week of August is sooo hot, I don't like that the dates are earlier, and the event is shorter and there is no banquet. What are you regular's going to do? I think registration is still open, final payment is due June 14, 2002.

Janet & I will be there, staying at VWL unless our waitlist for Boardwalk comes through. We have serious doubts about this Disneyana "event" but are optimistic (or foolish) enough to hope that Disney will increase the "magic" to make up for the abbreviated schedule. As for Milton, we could always dress him up as Disney Anna & sneak him in.LOL. We will be planning amongst ourselves to do some non convention activities as a group so we will be sure to let you & Milton know. I think most of the group will arrive the Sat before the convention & stay until Sunday.

Thanks Chris & Janet. We will let you know if we are definitely going. Our room reservations are for Wed thru Monday. Do you know if there is going to be a Public Day? The tenative itinerary I have doesn't say so.

Lee and I will be there unless our daughter decides to have her baby early. . We have our reservation at OKW and registered for the "event" at the last convention. I can't believe Disney is doing this to us!!! Shortened schedule, No Public Day, No Banquet, No Welcome Party. I guess that is the difference between an "event" and a "convention"

Well, I'm booked at Port Orleans - Riverside for the week, Saturday through the following Sunday. Already got my airline ticket through Priceline.com ($200!). Making plans for La Nouba and whatever else everyone else wants to do. Whatever they do will still be fun cuz it's the only time we all get to see each other!

BTW, talked to Beth the other day. They've been having some e-mail troubles but said to let everyone know that they are ok and are not sure whether they'll go to the event due to the timing and school for the boys.

Mike and I pre-reserved at the last Disneyana Convention .... We'll be at WDW that week, but still not sure we'll be at the "event". To add to Flitter's list - no Speaker's of the Mouse - that's the big "names".

On the bright side - who's up for a private viewing of Illuminations? With cake and ice cream! It's lot's of fun.

I love the idea of a Private Viewing for Illuminations. Judy, I will call you soon (perhaps over the weekend) to find out who we need to call. I will be happy to do my part in making this event FUN, FUN, FUN since Disney took our Convention Away!!!!!

How about a "Keys of the Kingdom" tour? I love the LaNouba idea too. Just have to wait until next month to firm that one up.

I'm trying hard to make this a not so expensive trip this time. We are going to come in on Tuesday August 20th and will stay at All Star Music. Will be sending in my deposit for the Event on Monday. We would be interested in a group dessert party. Now I have to work on airfare that just went up to $200 pp from Newark.

AS of now, I am registered for the convention. My Mom's health is not real good, so I'm not sure if I am going to come or not. I won't leave her home alone. I am thinking of bringing her, but I don't know if it is worth paying for a second person for the convention. I am planning on staying at BWV, but because of my use year, will need to decide by the end of March, otherwise, I could lose the points!

My main reason for wanting to go is to see everyone!

Hi everyone. Sorry I don't get to check the boards much, but things just get really busy. Looks like as of now, we are going to the convention. I think I am brining my Mom and we are set to stay at the new Beach Club Villas.

Since I haven't been online much, I was wondering what events everyone is planning on doing as a group. Hopefully, we will be able to join you for some of them. I think being with everyone may make the trip easier on me and hopefully, my Mom will enjoy it. Our last trip for my B-Day (March 5th), was not good. In 6 days, we got in 7 attractions/shows! She was miserable when we got to the parks. When other people are around and she has the opportunity to talk, she seems to enjoy herself. I think she will enjoy all of you!

I just spoke with Event Services today, and they still have absolutely no details about the event. I asked if the Disneyana Discoveries would begin on Wednesday, or if they would possibly offer them sooner, as in the past. Didn't know. I asked if the seminars would be similar to before.....didn't know. It makes it really tough to plan airfare, etc.

We found a one day sale on Delta for $156.76 so we booked and are changing planes in Atlanta down and Cincinnati back. I just didn't want to spend $210 for Delta Express so we will try the connections. I have only reserved a spot for me at the Event. Not sure if I am going to register Milton yet. We are staying at the All Stars and are looking forward to seeing everyone again.

US Airways is having some type of companion sale. I just booked my Mom and I from Harrisburg to Orlando for $132/pp!!!!!

Janet & I switched our reservations to the Beach Club Villas to be close to the convention area. As soon as tax season is over, I'll start thinking about what pre-convention activities we'll do. I'm very up for a group visit to the Adventurer's Club. We look forward to seeing you all.
Kungaloosh!

I just called Walt Disney Event Services and added Milton to my reservations. Now we are both registered, and staying at ASMo. The CM said that more info would be supplied in 2 to 3 weeks.

Could someone explain this event a little more? Can anyone attend? What is the price? I will be there this time period and might be interested.

Thanks.

I will be there!! This will be the first Disneyana "Convention" for me. I'll be there from Fri. the 16th thru Monday the 25th. I'll be attending the animation event so I will not be available during the day but I'm up for any evening activities!

The Disneyana Convention consists of seminars, workshops, artist signings, an after hours theme park party, an auction, gifts to conventionears of collectibles & the opportunity to BUY,BUY,BUY logo merchandise & limited edition collectibles. The event only package is $586 per person (less $60 if you are an annual passholder. Event plus 2 nights at a Disney Hotel starts at $702 per person. It's expensive but a lot of fun.

Didn't realize it was quite that expensive. Hope everyone that is going enjoys it, I myself will pass. I can buy a lot of limited edition pins for that amoutn of money LOL.

tap & dap will be there also. We are staying at the yacht club resort from 8/19/02 until 8/25/02. Hope to see you all there.
