Disney YES Program Open to non-groups

I told my cousin about this program and I helped her sign her grand daughter up for the June 23rd animation class. She ordered the tickets and got the confirmation. Probably a week or so goes by and she gets a call from Disney and she called back (new she can not remember who she spoke with) but they cancelled her order and told her the classes were only for home schooled children. No I know this isn't correct. Can someone please give me the name and contact information so that I can call for her? Thanks:)

I am signed up for this class. I actually called this morning because my tickets haven't arrived yet (I ordered on the 6th). They told me my order was processed Monday and would be mailed out next Monday. Maybe she should try again?

Hi all I have a few questions. I have tried going through the thread... but it is massive so I know I am missing some things.

One.. I notice for the Individual enrollment you can purchase up to 5 day tickets. Is it possible to get 7 days or is the cut off 5?

Two.. There is an open enrollment class that my dd would love with room for our dates. Unfortunately the ages listed are 8-15. She is 13 so no problem. Ds will be 7 and a half. I am assuming they are rigid about the age limits? He would love it as well.. and is a bright bright boy. I know he would get a lot out of it. Just wondering if they are willing to accept someone younger or not.

There is a group he could be in a few days before but enrolment is Closed so I am assuming it's full.

And lastly.. is the discount on tickets for the whole party or just the parent and child attending?

For example.. if I get tickets for dd and dh for the class but I am unable to get ds into a group, do he and I buy our tickets seperately and full price?
I have no problem doing so.. but I just want to know what to budget.

Thanks for any help you can provide.:)

My thoughts...as far as I know YES does not require you to show proof of age;) do you catch my drift?

Everyone in your family gets the same YES ticket rates...mom, dad, and kids.

We got a 6 day parkhopper for all 5 in our family for $900 instead of the regular WDW rate of over $1400. Plus...my kids get to learn a little more since they will be out of school for a week!!!

I have a similar situation with a brght 8 y.o wanting a 9+ class. I have emailed the program through the website and am awaiting a reply. I have recently read a review where the mother said she was sure several of the kids in the class were younger than the age requirement.

Because lying is such a positive example for our kids.

I really really don't want this to turn into a debate on honesty or anything of the like. I don't plan to lie, just wondered if they might accept him, and plan to ask when they call. If they won't.. too bad so sad... he's at Disney anyway so he'll be fine.:)

Thank you for everyone's responses.:)

Lol, when people start with the "do you catch my drift" crap it becomes about honesty. The poster above me was dealing with it straight up. Email the folks in charge and ask.

HA!!! Too bad so sad! I forgot all about that. Used to say it as a kid.

Let us know what you find out.

Personally, I just do what is posted. The line has to be drawn somewhere. If they let in one "gifted" child they need to let in others. And how do you prove your child is gifted anyway? Same thing with age. IMHO, if they make the exception for one they need to make it for all.

Have fun!

Understood. Still waiting for a return call.:)

That's what I was thinking. It can't hurt to ask.. but at some point it would become a free for all so I imagine the ages are there for a reason. Not too worried about it though.. it's not like his sister gets to go to Disney and he has to clean toilets or something:rotfl: He'll be fine.

For anyone who wanted a fall class...I got an email from YES telling me that the fall class registration begins early summer..Guess I can stop obsessively looking online every day:lmao:

I asked about ages when I called the first time (still waiting to hear from Ashley...) and the girl on the phone (who wasn't Ashley) told me they were strict on sign-up ages, but to just put an age in that fit with the class. I'm not real comfy doing that, KWIM? But, I did note that someone said the actual classes are grade based, not age based. So, if your gifted 8yo is in 4th grade, the 9yo class might be the appropriate one for them anyway.

Hi guys! I was wondering about the expiration dates for the homeschool passes. I'm planning to go the first week for the homeschool week but I'm going to visit some family in Orlando for the whole month. I'm planing to visit some parks like legoland and Kennedy Space center. My cousin is coming the last week of October with her kids and I want my kids to use two days while she is here. Do you guys know how the dates work? I heard some where that as long the days don't go over 30 days you are ok.

If you don't know the answer, Do you have an email for Y.E.S . Thanks

Here's my email followed by their response....(not sure how I got so misinformed about my first ques., glad I asked)

What are you inquiring about?: Individual Enrollment - Youth Education
Series
Location: Walt Disney World (Florida)

2 questions--

1. If I find that I must cancel a reservation, is it correct that it is
100% refundable with one week's notice?

2. Are the age requirements strictly enforced? My son will be 8 years,
but is very bright and loves science, could he participate in an age 9+
class (Chemistry)?

Thank you for your help.
DeAnn

Greetings, DeAnn -

All tickets, reservations, and programs are non-refundable and non-transferable. The ages are also strictly enforced due to safety reasons of the selected programs.

Have a Magical Day!

Yep. We will be there on June 14th also!

DS16 and DD13 will be in Dynamics of Technology.
I will be in Synergy of Science with DD10 and DD7.

My DD6 will also be in the Synergy of Science class.
My cousin's son (14) will be in the Dynamics of Technology class.

It's definitely an open enrollment class according to the website. I just went on the website and the following was listed as the contact phone number:

1-877-WD-YOUTH
(1-877-939-6884)

I am signed up for this class. I actually called this morning because my tickets haven't arrived yet (I ordered on the 6th). They told me my order was processed Monday and would be mailed out next Monday. Maybe she should try again?

Thanks, I ended up sending an email to Ashley (which I found many many pages ago:rotfl:) and she emailed me back wanting a phone number and time she could call me. :)

I signed my DS16 up for a class that has ages 8-15 and they let him in. I guess if there is a problem when we get there, the nephews can go and he can stay with is. They are 12 and 15, so they fit the range. Maybe being older isn't as much of a problem?

I'm sorry, I didn't mean that as a lecture to you, but more disgust with the concept. We want our kids to be honest but people are willing to lie to get what they want.

I understand your position. I never did hear back today and got antsy wanting to book the tickets so I just went ahead and booked dd for the class, and next year ds can have his turn. Maybe the poor kid will have to ride rides all morning:rotfl:

I am so completely excited about this savings and the class for dd!! She really loved the idea! I just hope it gets enough participants that they don't cancel it! They just need 10 to run a class correct?
