Okay, I finally got the okay from my dad to order tickets for August. My son and his three cousins will be doing the 8/15 Ocean Discoveries class:cool1:.
I just hope they approve my registration. Last year, we did the YES program and DS ended up with strep the day before our class. I called to let them knowthat morning and I kept the bill in case there was a question this year.

Having just discovered this brilliant 'YES program' idea- on DISboards, of course- I just booked the "Animation Magic" for July 28th. Does anyone have any info/experience with this class? DD and DS are super excited about this, and so am I!
I wish I'd known about this before, since I never pass up a learning opportunity.:teacher:

Can I assume that sessions may be added for October? We already have a vacation scheduled; love to register my teens for a program. TIA

I am thinking about signing my two kids up for this program/date too. I guess I better hurry, since four spots are taken!! There are only ten spots per class, correct? May I ask how old the kids are that you signed up? I have a twelve year old and I wonder if she is too old....even though it says 15.

Ok I am confused when I went in to look at the website today. Instead of listing the dates it just shows them all as January 1st 2011-December 2012. Where are the specific dates for each class listed?

When you go to the disneyyouth.com, look for "individual enrollment" on the drop down menus. Click on it. Then when that page loads look on the left side for "program catalog", click there. The next page will let you look at all programs scheduled through the end of August. You can choose to just look at Disneyland or WDW programs.

I think I made a mistake. I enrolled in a YES program for June 14th and bought 7-day tickets. I did not get Hoppers, as we did not "hop" last time we went. Now that I have my tickets, I looked closer at the schedule, and having Hoppers would really benefit us (with DH's convention schedule and the fact that we really hope to get to see Fantasmic! this time).

Anyone know if I can add Hoppers after I got the YES tickets, or am I locked into the MYW basics? It's not a super-big deal, but thought I would check.

Unfortunately, the YES tickets are non-refundable and non-upgradeable... wouldn't hurt to call and ask and see if there's something they could do for you, though. The price difference for hoppers and even the water parks & more option on the YES tickets is so minimal, that it's usually wise to just get those and then if you end up not using those options, you're not out a lot of money.

If you got the tickets already delivered to you ( I think you did from what your post said ) then I don't think it is possible.

But if you just recently placed your order and they have not already issued/printed your actual tickets then it may be poissible.

I don't think you can upgrade if you have already received the tickets, I could be wrong but I seem to remember that once the hard ticket is issued it can't be changed even if it is to a more expensive ticket. Call to ask just to be sure, maybe something can be done. Good luck :goodvibes

Thanks - I do have paper tickets already delivered. I thought there wasn't much that could be changed, but figured I'd see if anyone did it.

We're trying to go as budget as possible for this trip, which is why we opted not to get Hoppers. We can certainly do this without them. I just hope it doesn't rain on the one day we'd be able to see Fantasmic!

Had to share!! I have been waiting almost 3 weeks now for my tickets. I called the day I ordered them to talk about making it an 8 day ticket and was told they dont have those, ok no problem. Then at the 2 week mark I got nervous and called and they said yeah i paid the 10 and they should be there soon. Waited until today. They have not been sent (my error for some reason -blame it on lack of sleep) I marked off both express ship and will call but they charged me the express so I did assume but I was able to add on the extra day for like 12 bucks total...YIPPEE!! I am so super excited right now that I messed up :rotfl:

Hoping someone can help. We will be in Disney the last week of July, my son is hoping to taking one of the classes. There are 7 of us but we are arriving a few days apart. 3 of us will be there 3 days longer than the rest. My question is, do all the tickets through the YES program have to be the same? I was hoping I could do the premium tickets for 3 of us and then the tickets with hoppers for the other 4, that way the 3 of us could do the water parks and disney quest before the others arrive. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

This is part of the email that I received from the program this past week.

"We also wanted to share with you that Disney Homeschool Days is returning in October! Check our website frequently for the program date and the subject announcement. Or connect with Disney Youth Programs on Facebook for all the latest news and updates."

Ohhh, in October this year??? From what I have understood it was in September in the past. October would be wonderful!

The kids in my group are 12, 15 and almost 17, so I am sure yours will be fine.

You can order different types of tickets when you get to the ticket section. Just be sure to put the earliest arrival date and the latest departure date in that section.

Has anyone gone through the American Story class? My daughter is insisting on it and I can't find much info.

When I registered, there was no option for plain hopper tickets.
It was either base tickets OR premium tickets with hopper and water parks.

Thanks for the info. Hoping to buy the tickets today. I'll let everyone know how it goes.

No, you can get the "starter" (base) tickets, hopper tickets or "premium" tickets (hoppers plus water parks and more)

YAY!!! Our tickets were delivered yesterday! I ordered on Monday, Feb. 7, and they're already here! 8 - 7 day Premium passes....we saved almost $150/ticket! Thanks to this thread my family is VERY happy with me right now! Not to mention the fact that my kids are SOOOOO excited about taking a class at Disney World!
