Disney YES Program Open to non-groups

I want to collect fastpasses while my kids are doing the YES program. They will be entering the park prior to opening. Can I stand at the turnstile and have them give me there now activated passes? Then when park opens I can go through the turnstile and collect fastpasses for our entire party?

Yes, you can.

Ok here is another question for the experts.
I am going with 3 people to the parks. 3 will be using YES tickets. 1 person will be going for 6 days and the other two for 4 days. I had read that theser tickets don't use finger scans and say Child on them even though adults can use them here is my question.
Can I buy 3-5 day tickets and have the 6 day person use the other two tickets for one day each and then the 3 of them will have 4 days left on each ticket?

I seem to remember finger scans...but I may be thinking of a different trip. Still, at the tremendous discount of these tickets, just have the longer staying person buy their ticket seperately.

I tried to put in 1 6 day and 2 4 day but then a little warning type message comes up and says all tickets must be purchased for the same amount of days. That is why I asked about buying 3 5 day passes.
I spoke to the other person and he is going to buy a 2 day pass for the extra two days he is there so no problems. Thanks for the comments. I am looking forward to the time in WDW and hopefully my grandson and son will enjoy their time in class.

Sorry for the incorrect information. They made several changes to the YES program this Spring (mid-April) and this must have been one of them. Glad you got it worked out.

Edited to add: Just asking...did you check the price of 3x 6 day YES tickets against the 3x4 day plus a 2 day regular ticket? I haven't done the math, but since the YES tickets are so discounted and Disney really sticks it to you on regular tickets less than than 4 days....again just a suggestion.

It would be less expensive to buy 3x 6 day YES tickets, than 3x 4 day YES tickets plus a regular 2 day ticket:

2 day ticket $172 + 3x 4 day YES tickets @ $143 each = $601

3x 6 day YES tickets @ $162 = $486

2x 4 day YES tickets @ $143 + 1x 6 day ticket at regular price $258 = $544

...or did I misunderstand what you need? :confused3

ETA: The guy who needs 6 days would be better off buying all 6 days at regular price, than buying 4 day YES + 2 day regular price tickets. Regular price on a 6 day ticket is $258. If you buy a 4 day YES ticket at $143 and then he buys an additional two day at $172, he would be spending $315. A regular price 6 day ticket is only $258.

That's a good idea! hee hee

Well, for what it's worth, I was playing around with the registration process on the YES website just now, and I had no problems getting to the credit card portion of an order for 2x 4day tickets and 1x 6 day ticket for a family with 2 adults and 1 child.

Does anyone know if the ticket prices for YES increase at the same time as the general ticket increase goes through? I would have bought YES by now but I'm awaiting registration to open for classes offered in conjunction with the October homeschool class. Just wondering if I'll have to adjust my budget...TIA to the person who answers this!

I registered my daughter yesterday for her class in July. It's a good thing I did, too, because there is very, very little open for our time frame. I did just go back through the process to see if the YES prices had changed today, but it appears that these tickets did NOT increase.

This may have been answered somewhere in the thread so forgive me if it has...
We are annual passholders who would like our daughter take a Yes program. We obviously don't need the park tickets but I am confused how to book jsut the program - is there a spot on the website I am missing?:confused3
Also - the only program open while we are there is for 8-15 year olds - she is 7 - are they strict about the age and do they check or just take your word for it? (she is a very grown up 7 year old believe me!)
Thanks for any advice you can give!:goodvibes

I can answer the Passholder question as it also applies to me. The adult going with the child must purchase a ticket through the program. Now, it could be just the one day base ticket, but you still have to have it. I wish they would do something for passholders, but they don't.

Really - that's too bad! I was hoping that there was just some sort of program cost.
We are going with friends that would be buying their tickets - do you have to have one adult per child or can my friend take my daughter and hers?
Thanks so much!

Has anyone done a "review" or trip report of the whole process? I have questions like where do you get the tickets? Where do you go for the classes? stuff like that....

They do not finger scan as of August of last year.

Also, they say "youth" on the back for children and adults, meaning youth group. Child tickets say child when you buy them at the gate, etc.

P.S. I had a few CM's ask for my ticket after scanning all of ours. I had to explain they are youth group tickets, not child tickets. I was surprised they weren't aware, with how many youth groups go to WDW...just thought I would mention in case you run into the same thing.

You could do that...they don't finger scan. Not condoning it...just saying! :rotfl:

Have there been open programs for May? We are planning a trip for 2012 and just wondering if May is a typical month in which they offer programs.
Thanks.

:cool1: 22nd of August Disney's World of Physics: Energy and Waves Ages: 8 - 11 09:00 Closed :cool1: all of our classes are closed :dance3:

Bought my tickets today :cool1:. It looks like after I ordered, the section closed (July 11, Properties of Motion). I'm so relieved that I was able to purchase these and I'm really excited about the program and the savings.
