Disney Y.E.S. Program

Hi,

Does anyone know when the tickets/classes for August of this year were released? Planning on August of 2013. Want to make sure I know when I to look to enroll!

Thanks!

I believe it was February 7th.

Thanks, this was what I wanted to know.

We likely won't get the email confirmation until during our trip, so I will have no way to print anything. I do already have my original confirmation printed to bring with me when I pick up the tickets.

I would think having our IDs would be good enough to get into the class.

I have had the concierge at the hotel print airline tickets for me in the past so I think if you really run into trouble you may be able to get something printed out at the hotel.

Hi fellow YES gang

I am hoping to book a class for my grand daughter.
Date Jan 1-6 2013.

Does anyone know if these dates have been available in the
past?

Can anyone tell me when the Jan 2013 dates open up?

Hoping for Disney's Ocean Discoveries
or
Disney's Wild By Nature
Thank-You
Hugs Mel

They should open in October or November. Hope you get the class you want! We will be doing Wild by Nature on our next trip.

I am wondering this too. I am thinking we should post dates instead of link to dates. I have been searching for a bit on this and can only find people answering with the link. But of course the link is for current dates.;)

Just found in another site that they had one on 1/11/2010. This is a little late in the month for me but hope it helps someone else.

And from another thread:
We are going to be at Disney World the first week in January and were keeping our fingers crossed for a YES program for our son, 8. I emailed them and this was their response:

Thank you for your email! Due to events taking place throughout the parks the first week of January we will not be offering Individual Enrollment classes that week. Currently, classes are slated to start on January 9, 2012. The classes will be on specified dates from January 9, 2012 thru February 15, 2012. That will complete our winter offerings for 2012.

The first line of the confirmation says:
"Please bring this confirmation with you to your program and present it to your facilitator for program check-in."

The rest of the confirmation is reiterating what was stated in the original email you received when you signed up for the program --participant's name, time, meeting place, etc.

Hi, does anyone have the email contact? We have not received the class confirmation.
thank you,
:hippie:

For those that have done this before I am hoping you can help... i am a frequent Disney traveler but have never done the youth series as my kids are to old. A close friend called for advice. She has signed up for a class for her twins..and ordered her tickets. She said she got an email confirmation on the ticket order. Here are her questions that I couldn't answer:

When do they confirm the class?

Her children are not in the best of physical condition - they are ill often - they have traveled places before and ended up stuck in the hotel because one of the kids was sick - what happens if one of the kids gets sick and can't go to the class - can the other one still go as they registered together? They are only registered for one class she said.

Also she said when she called to talk to them about the physical demands of the class (she forgot to ask the above questions and now is embarassed to call back)... they said the tickets would be mailed to them but she says the email she got (I haven't seen it) says she has to pick them up at a guest relations... were those class tickets or admission tickets they were talking about....

thanks for helping... I don't know much about the program and didn't want to give her wrong info

Can't say from experience, but I'd be certain that this is not a problem as long as one of the children attends (along with the chaperone if needed). If neither attend, that's more of an issue.

Assuming this is for WDW and not DL, they do not mail the park tickets - they have to be picked up. There are no tickets for the class itself.

This was for individual Enrollment
This is the number I called

I just spoke with them (YES program Staff)and they said

The Jan 2013 dates will be posted end of Sept 2012 or beginning of Oct 2012 as they haven't made a decision on the dates yet.

I am hoping with the Marathon being later in the month this year ( Jan 10-13th 2013), that they will hold classes the first week in Jan ( 1st-9th 2013.)
This is a link to the marathon dates

I signed up back in March for an August class. I received a confirmation email almost immediately. Then just last week received another email confirmation (our class is in 11 days). The recent confirmation gives contact numbers if you're going to be late, etc.....so I would say if you have a sick kid that morning you should call and let them know that the morning of the program. The non-sick child can still attend.

One thing I read somewhere on their website rules is that if you don't show up for the class they can charge you the difference between the regular price of tickets and the discount you got through the YES program....that's likely to avoid people using the YES program just for discounts and blowing off the actual class......based on that I'd say it would be vital that you call that morning and let them know your child is ill....so they understand (and proof can be provided if necessary) that you're not blowing it off.

Like I said, I paid in almost 6 months ago and I still have to go pick up the tickets before the class. Something in the back of my head says that there might have been an option to have the tickets mailed for a fee.....but I'm too cheap to do that, plus I didn't want them 6 months early to lose.

Hello all,

We returned from our trip a few days ago and participated in the Y.E.S. Program. Our class was "Everyday Chemistry" located at Epcot. My daughter is 13 and LOVED the class! I attended with her.

First of all, we checked in and met our instructor, Dana, who was absolutely wonderful. Unfortunately, we waited a bit for the "no shows" to our class. There were quite a few which is so sad. Our class was to meet at 8:45 and we got started right off the bat. We started off with introductions and Dana explained a bit about what we would be doing. We did a few experiments right then and there and then we entered the park as a group.

I won't go into everything we did but it was informative and fun. I enjoyed myself as did my daughter. Now, keep in mind, my daughter is very, very shy. I was so happy that she really participated and I think Dana appreciated that.

During the course of the class, we rode Ellen's Energy and Mission Space. The option to ride Mission Space was there for us. Those of us (myself included as well as Dana) that chose not to ride still went through the que and opted out as the others boarded. My daughter was thrilled because we usually go just the 2 of us and I do not ride Mission Space! Oh, it was the green, less intense side.

The class ended right at 12:00 after one last experiment. We had a wonderful experience and would not hesitate to do another class in the future. Honestly, my daughter wished we had signed up for another while we were there. She had that much fun.

If you have any questions, I will be happy to answer them.

Several of you have mentioned that only one child needs to take a class. However, when I go on to book, it seems to request each child for a class and no more than one adult per child enrolled.

How would I go about having only one or two of my children enrolled in a class but all of us getting tickets? Do I need to call?

Thanks,

Dawn

In the first registration page, you need to list everyone in the family. It LOOKS like you are registering them for the class, but you are registering them for the "program" so they can get tickets. Putting everyone on this page allows you to order the right number of tickets later.

Later, you select the child taking the class and the adult chaperone.

I have a question about the yes tickets. If I buy them for an upcoming class and something happens and we need to cancel trip are they refundable?

They say up front that they are not refundable.
