Disney Y.E.S. Program

Thanks everyone for sharing all your knowledge on this program. We were debating about going to Disney again but with this program it seems like a no-brainer. To have the kids learn something while they are there and save money almost seems to good to be true.:cool1:

We are scheduled to go on 20 august for how things move and arriving afternoon of the 19th. As the time gets closer I am starting to doubt myself and second guess myself of course!

Originally I was thinking of picking up the tickets at DTD but was wondering if anyone has ever gotten them at either Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon? That way we could spend one of our options on the arrival date and not drive back and forth to DTD then to the water park if it isn't necessary.

Thanks in advance!

I don't think you can pick them up at a water park. Typhoon Lagoon is right across the street from TL though. What we did was drop me off over by DisneyQuest to pick up the tickets and then the rest of the party parked and waited for me. Then we headed straight over to TL. Only took 15 minutes at the most.

Thanks for the response! I'm sure my husband will have no problem waiting in the air conditioned car while I go to get the tickets :rolleyes1

I will also be at this class with my two younger kids.

DH and older DD will be doing the World of Physics class at the same time.

That's great! When you see a really tired woman with 3 kids going crazy that'll be me; fortunately for my DH and unfortunately for me they only let one parent accompany and guess who got voluntold? Although I am kind of excited to learn too! :goodvibes

I am working from my phone right now, my motherboard crashed. I was looking at the website, All I saw was 5 day passes. Also I didn't see any programs for next year. We home school and are going in february and I was looking for a program for my daughter. The passes save a lot of money and I think it's a great idea can anybody tell me if they actually have 8 day passes? Or when they will list classes for february 2013?
Again I'm working from my phone and I don't have a computer at the moment so any help is greatly appreciated! TIA!!!

They do offer 8 day (for this year not sure what is going to happen next year) and they do offer classes in Feb. The 2013 classes I think should go up around Oct or so from what I have read.

Great!! Thank you. Don't know why it only shows 5 day being max on my phone.

I am hoping for Millennium Cultures. That is the 1 my daughter seems most interested in. Anyone been to this one? If not , we will one of the World of Physics ones.

When you get to the page after registration where you order tickets, the longer length tickets will show up.

Only on page 16 of this forum thread trying to find answers to my questions but need input soon since we are looking to purchase tickets today. I was looking at the Y.E.S. site last week for a friend and was surprised that there is a class open for Sept 21. My sisters are taking my 10 year old son on a last minute trip next month and we just purchased plane tickets. One of my sisters has an annual pass but we plan to purchase tickets for my son and other sister. I am getting my sister to purchase the two tickets since it looks like an adult has to show ID and the original credit card used for the purchase. I read that my sister will be able to accompany my son to the class since they are the ones taking him on the trip. Looks like someone posted that both parents were able to accompany a single child into the class so we are hoping both my sisters will be able to go to the class by asking at the time of the class, but of not, the other sister is fine touring Epcot on her own. We are looking to register my 10 year old son for the "Everyday Chemistry" class. He will be turning 11 the next month but is small for his age so hopefully no one will question his age. Is the time for the class on the far right of the order form. I am assuming 8:45am? They are staying at Animal Kingdom Villas Kidani so hopefully can take bus transportation from there since Epcot opens at 9am. But my sister mentioned reading that they instruct you to pick up the tickets at least the day before the class. Will they be able to get them from their resort? Or guest relations at Downtown Disney? They arrive the night before around 8p and will take Magical Express to their resort so it might not be 10p or so until they are able to catch a bus to Downtown Disney. Will Guest Relations there still be open? Or will Guest Relations at Epcot be open early enough the morning of the class? Also most seem to report that classes last about 3 hours. So if they tell you to meet at 8:45a, what would be a safe tme to make a lunch reservation at Epcot? 1p? Does anyone have a review of the Everyday Chemistry class? My sisters were both science majors in college so thought the class sounded fun and exciting. My son doesn't seem to share their enthusiasm.

For the insane planner in me, can anyone tell me what the 8day are this year? I know they will likely be a little more next year. Both the Hopper and Premium? Thank you!

Yes. ID is required to pick up the tickets. I was told that I could use my husband's CC for the purchase although he is not coming with us on the trip. So, I don't think the CC is required to pick them up.

This isn't quite correct. Two adults are permitted to purchase tickets if they are taking a single student. Typically only one adult is allowed to attend the class along with the student. Definitely ask when you get there though, as I have read of the occasional exception being made here and there. It's probably up to the instructor.

The buses will be running plenty early enough. Many people arrive at the park by 8:30 for a 9:00 am opening anyway, so that won't be a problem at all.

They do recommend you pick up the tickets the day before the class, but it sounds as if that would be difficult in this situation. You cannot get the tickets at the resort. Guest Relations at Epcot opens, I believe, an hour prior to park opening. I think as long as they arrive early enough they should not have a problem picking up the tickets prior to the class start time. They need to allow extra time in case there is a line. -- Maybe someone here can chime in on this?? If not, I'd call the YES people and ask. Surely it's come up before.

If class starts at 8:45, they should be finished by noon. Depending on where in the park you want the ADR, you could make it for 12:30ish and get there in plenty of time. If it's Coral Reef, for example, you could make a 12:15...but if it's Teppan Edo, all the way on the other side of World Showcase, then you'd want 12:30 or so.

There is a review somewhere on this thread, but I don't know what page, sorry. They do Mission Space, Ellen's Energy Adventure, and an experiment or two -- that much I remember.

Guest Relations/Ticket booths should be open at least 30 minutes before guests are allowed in to the parks, including for early ADRs, tours, etc. This typically means they are open by 7:30am.

Downtown Disney is also another option. The DTD locations are open until at least 11pm (I think one is open until 11:30pm, but I don't recall which).

I think only one adult can attend the class, but you can always ask.

As far as age, they are very strict on the age requirements. What age is the class listed for? If he is not in the age group, you will most likely have to ask him to lie, as the subject will probably come up during introductions.

I believe that guest relations by DisneyQuest is open very late, as people can buy tickets there for DQ, which stays open really late. If not, I'd get to Epcot right at 8 and pick them up before the class.

I would probably err on the side of caution for the lunch ressie. Maybe do 1:30? Whichever sister doesn't go to the class can collect the other two tickets after they go through the turnstile and get FPs for something when the return time is in the right time span.
