Disney Y.E.S. Program

I received a confirmation email for one of my two classes (for my kids of course) both on the same day but only confirming one?..Do you guys think I should call on this or b patient? We leave in 5 days!

A friend of mine is going end of August with an 8 and 10 year old. There is nothing available for this age category during her stay. Do they ever open up more dates?

I think the word about the YES program is out, so it's going to be much more difficult to get into classes closer to a trip.

We booked our late August tickets in February and that was only because we were watching daily and signed up immediately the morning they opened registration. Classes sold out quickly, several that first day.

There also aren't even classes offered each week that cover every age group. My youngest is in kindergarten and there was only one class during the entire month of August that he met he age requirement for.

Does anyone know for sure if I can pick up our YES tickets at the International Gateway at Epcot? We leave on Thursday and our plan for the evening was to go to IG to pick up our tickets and then maybe go to Epcot. If we can't pick them up there then we'll pick them up Friday morning at the park we go to that day.

TIA!

Okay everyone. I am so sorry to ask a question that I know has been asked before, but we will be arriving on Saturday morning and going straight to MK. Where exactly to we need to go there to get the YES tickets?

Guest Relations which is located right before the turnstiles (but after bag check) as you enter the park.

Really?

My confirmation states:

"Your tickets may be picked up beginning on 08-13-2012 at the following locations: Epcot®, Disney's Hollywood Studios™, Disney's Animal Kingdom® Theme Park or the Ticket and Transportation Center at the Magic Kingdom® Park."

I know this is not totally accurate though because people on the other YES thread have been posting about also picking them up at DTD as well. If we can get them at Guest Relations at MK instead of going to the TTC that would be great.

They are giving a simplified description in general.

For the most part, the Guest Relations/Guest Services locations can handle just about ALL ticket services at any of their locations. The only exception I know of is that you can't get the Premier Passport at the International Gateway location.

They say the TTC because that is the primary ticketing location for MK.

Guest Relations at MK works for this because resort guests taking Disney bus transportation would not be taken to the TTC, but directly to MK.

We are here now. The class is tomorrow. I wanted to let you know my ticket experience is not what I expected. We picked up our tickets at Will Call at Animal Kingdom. We were issued regular tickets good for 6/9 - 6/21. First of all, my receipt says good until June 30 (7 days after the end of my trip as expected). Second of all, that's only 13 days. A regular ticket gives you 14!!! We also got regular tickets and were finger printed. While none of this actually effects negatively ( we will be done at the parks by the 21st and I don't care about the fingerprinting), it is not at all what I expected by reading the dis threads nor by the info I was given when I ordered the tickets. Because I don't need them to be "right", I didn't say anything. However, it's a heads up for others of you out there.

I will try to post about the class afterwards. However, my dh is going, not me, so not sure if I'll be able to give the best description.

Michelle,
Thank you for that update. So many things about your experience are completely different than what we've been hearing. Their emails and website info have changed recently so maybe the whole process is changing.

Might be worth a call tomorrow to see if somebody from Y.E.S. can clarify.

Are you sure you NEED to do the biometric finger scan? When we had YES tickets previously, most CMs would ask us to do the scan because I think they were just used to everyone having to do it. Every now and then a CM would notice the turnstile blinked green when my ticket went through without doing the scan. Almost every one of them was surprised but it didn't even phase a few of them.

Do your tickets say YOUTH or something similar on the back? They used to.

Tracey -
I wondered that too, but she said they got "regular tickets" which made me think they weren't Tyvek and so they might work different than we would expect with Y.E.S. tickets.

To me, Tyvek ARE regular tickets lol. I've only had the room-key type once.

I guess we'll have to wait and see. It's always possible they got a CM who didn't know what he/she was doing...or, that the program is changing. Thank you for keeping on top of things so that whatever it is, we'll know about it! :goodvibes
