Disney Y.E.S. Program

Does the registration say "age at the time of the class" or just "age"? If it's the latter, and she is 11 now, it's really not lying, at least IMO.

Here is what it says:

"In order to maintain the magic and safety within each program, the specified age is not flexible. Students who do not meet specified age requirements will not be confirmed on the final program confirmation. The final program reminder/confirmation will be emailed to you between one and two weeks prior to the program start date."

And the guy I talked to made it sound like this was some new thing...he said something like "we now have a definitive answer for this question..."

I went ahead and booked my younger dd in the class. Dh says we can call back later and see if we can add the other dd...maybe we get to talk to someone else but I kind of doubt it. My dd is bummed. And I feel like it's our fault cause we couldn't decide for the longest time what to do and the class they really wanted and that they both could be in, Wild by Nature, closed.

I'm certain I read that kids age 13 and up can attend class without a parent. You would need to stay in the same park though. :goodvibes

This! I just booked my one dd for a class and I clearly read that age 13 and over do not need a chaperone but the parent must be in the theme park during the class.

Just what I wanted to read. They'll also be elated not having me tag along. :woohoo: The rest of us will play in AK and then meet after their class. They're doing the Wild By Nature which looks super neat. My DD is an animal nut so this will be right up her alley.

It still doesn't say outright what age to put on the form(age at registration or age at the time of the class). IIRC, it just asks for the child's age. What they do is to double check that all the listed ages are in the right age for final confirmation. I'm pretty sure they don't ask for birthdates, because I don't know my son's friend's exact birth date. I don't know how a child 2 months older than the age range would hurt anything.

Thanks for your thoughts. I will look a bit more into it. Like I said, I already signed up my younger dd so I'd probably need to call. I don't want to get the same guy. He seemed really hard-nosed about everything.

Searched high and low for this answer-can you purchase the Disney YES tickets with a Disney gift card?

No. They aren't actually being purchased from Disney, so you can't use a gift card or Disney Visa rewards dollars.

Last year we had our tickets mailed to us. Just wondering this year when picking up the tickets if the whole party has to be together at time of pick up? Also, where at DTD can you pick up tickets? I thought I read on here somewhere that you could get at DTD...

Everyone does not have to be present and you pick them up at a window on the outside of DisneyQuest.

I read through the enrollment, but I did not see the answer to this question. If my husband decides to come on the trip would I be able to add a ticket for him at a later date, or do I have to purchase the tickets at the same time?

The other question I have is they say the tickets are nonrefundable. Does this mean if an emergency arises and you have to change the date of your arrival can you change your date, or do you lose the money you put out for the tickets?

sorry nd quick ADvice..it runs from jan,feb..and then when does it pick up again..looking for august...thnkx

Based on the last 2 years (I think), Jan-Feb are released in the fall and Jun-Oct are released in the spring.

I believe June-October were actually released in February the last two years. I bought our July tickets February 7th.

I was reading through the thread, and I noticed people purchased trip insurance.
1. Did you purchase it for the entire trip, or did you purchase it for just the tickets?
2. Do you have to claim the purchasing of the YES tickets and hotel as a package?

Also
Can you purchase one ticket for a teen to attend a class, or would you have to purchase at least two - one for the teen, and one for the adult.
I am asking this question because if my son decides to go at a later date he may want to go to the marine class.

Thanks for your help.

My DD is going with my DGS in about 3 weeks. We did receive a confirmation, but should we be getting somethig else now that it is getting closer to the time for them to acutally go?

Thank You

My experience last year was that you get an email about a week before the actual class as a sort of reminder and clarification of where to meet and time.

It all worked out fine despite the fact that there were several groups meeting at the same place at the same time. :flower3:

Age is 5-17. You can put the older child in a class and get tickets for parents and the younger child.

As Torinsmom mentioned the ages for the program are 5-17, but each class has its own age requirement. (Ex. 5-8, 8-11, 11-14, 14-17) so there won't always be something available for children between 5-17 every week. We are going in August and I believe there was only one class that my youngest met the age requirement for the entire month even though there were several classes offered each week.

8 days is now the max for the tickets. But you can get the water parks option and do those the other two days if you're set on that length of trip. This is our first trip with less than 10 day tickets, but we still reserved our hotel for 11 nights. We are not doing any parks arrival or departure day and are taking off two days in the middle of the trip. We're actually really looking forward to the days "off" and have lots of fun activities planned around the resorts and DTD.
