Disney Y.E.S. Program

We're living on the edge and also doing the Wild by Nature in October. :thumbsup2 It's starts at 8:30 am and I agree, what's the difference between touring and the class? And I'm guessing the CMs are well versed in working with children and will break or whatever accordingly. Not worried. :goodvibes
We did Wild By Nature last Oct., during the 2nd week fo Oct. and we were fine!;) The pace is not rushed and there are lost of stops along the way, plus a safari ride.:goodvibes It was quite hot and I was glad we carried our water bottle along with us. Any other questions?

Does anyone know what the dates for classes in January and February of this year (2012) were?

Trying to get an idea of what dates might be offered for this coming Jan/Feb (2013).

Thoughts on the week of Jan 12, 2013 for classes being offered?

Does anyone know what the time frames are to pick up your tickets at the parks? Also, I read somewhere about DTD..is that still allowed as a pickup location? I am worried that we may not arrive until late in the evening, but I really want to pick them up on arrival day so as not to do it on our first park morning.

DTD should be able to handle it.

At the parks, a ticket booth and/or Guest Relations window will be open at least 30 minutes prior to anyone being permitted into the park - that includes for pre-opening tours, classes, ADRs, etc.

Does anyone have a guess when Jan/Feb dates will be posted?

I had to call Y.E.S. on Friday to ask a different question and, since I am also planning a Jan/Feb trip (Jan. 26-Feb. 8), I asked about 2013 dates and was told that those classes will not be released till after the October Homeschool Days events have been concluded. So, probably not till the 1st week of November.

I was wondering the same thing. I don't care if we do HS days or individual enrollment, I just want to make sure we can do one or the other, and I have to book our lodging by mid july and I know dates won't be out yet. :confused3

Does anyone know what hours the Yes program people work so I can call and talk to someone? I called this morning and left a message but never heard back so I just tried again and got a voice mail again.

I believe it's Mon-Fri, 9:30AM-6:30PM EST.

People have had good luck calling 407-472-4676 ext. 12. See if that works for you.

Thanks. Their website says ext 14 so that is what I've been trying. I tried ext 12 just now but still didn't get anyone. Hopefully, someone will call back soon.

This is all weighing on me b/c we have been trying to decide for a couple of months if this would work for us or not. During that time, the one class my girls really wanted closed. Now, we have figured out that it will work but my oldest dd will be 12 by the time we go and the Ocean Discoveries class is for 8-11. I'm hoping they will let her attend but it doesn't appear I can book it online unless I lie and say she's 11.

They don't seem to mind if the child is close in age. The problem is when they are far too little to be in a class. I would probably put her age as 11 knowing that it's not going to hurt anyone. (And I've never lied about my kids ages to get a discount or anything but this seems like a fairly benign situation.)

I agree. It does seem benign and I have read on here plenty of people saying the Yes program people didn't care if they were a little older. She'll only be a couple of months into 12. I just felt like I should check with them before booking, you know? My kids are taught never to lie so if they ask kid's their ages, she'll say 12 and I didn't want to get in trouble. I just wish they'd pick up the dang phone or call me back :p

I read all 72 pages of this thread plus did some of my own research and compiled it. Hopefully this will save somebody the 4+ hours it takes to read through all of the info.

How to get up to a 50% discount on Disney World park tickets

Maybe you can PM the OP of this thread and get them to add your link? It seems like the same questions get asked over and over and your explanation really lays everything out. Great job!

I've not seen this asked before and I apologize if I missed it ...... I have 4 boys, and am signed up for 2 classes. The 15 and 12 yr old are in the same class and will be accompanied by myself since the 12 yr old still needs a chaperone. My 7 yr old will be chaperoned by DH in a different class. Both classes are at EPCOT and are at the same time. OK, here's the issue......I also have a 4 yr old. He obviously cannot be left alone running around EPCOT :rotfl:. So, even though he's not signed up, he'll be with me while I chaperone the older boys. Has anyone had this situation before and was it a problem?

I've seen it mentioned several times that younger siblings are not allowed to tag along. I think you should give them a call. Maybe they will allow your 12 and 15 to attend without a parent (I think they normally need to be 13). If not, maybe they can reschedule one or the other of your classes for another time or day, if available.

They won't let younger siblings attend the class. It would simply be too distracting. You will have to get a babysitter or reschedule one of the classes so one of you can be with your little one. Like a PP said, you also might call and ask about the 2 older kids being there without a chaperone.
