I didn't realize grandparents weren't considered immediate family. Arggghhh: the drama gets more dramatic...

Don't feel bad. Until someone posted an email from Disney stating that immediate family was only mom, dad and siblings, I didn't believe it. I consider grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins immediate family. I guess they interpret it differently than me. I think they would consider your parents immediate family to you and it has to be immediate family of the child.

With so many people now using the YES programs, they had to cut back on how many discount tickets can be used with each class participant. Let's all hope they continue to offer this wonderful opportunity in the future.

I see nuclear as different than immediate, but maybe that's just me. Disney can define it however they want, of course. I am just glad to save some money!

Didn't mean anything bad. Just wanted to let you know the definition taught in school and did a quick search on the web. Most define extended as outside the nuclear family. Taking leave for a funeral at work, grandparents were considered the same as aunts/uncles - extended. Didn't get as many days as for immediate family of parents or children.

Personally, we always considered most of our family immediate family. We never referred to Grandparents as "extended family". Because to my parents, the grandparents were their parents and as such, immediate family.

I am so glad I found this program on the board. I was able to sign my DD and myself up for a program in September that she will love, and since it's just the two of us there are no other tickets to purchase. I'm still wondering where the fine print is, as this appears to save the two of us $320 on 7-day park hopper plus water option tickets! Someone straighten me out if I've calculated that incorrectly (I did see where there is a difference that you have a limit of 5 total visits to water parks / Disney Quest, but we won't ever reach that!)

Now to watch for room discount only pricing for the hotel, as I don't think Free Dining would have been all that beneficial for the two of us anyway...

I've always generally considered immediate family as being siblings, parents, and children - that is, one generation up or down, but directly related - of a particular person.

Since, technically, it is the child taking the course, grandparents would be a generation further away.

Anyways, their setup appears to be geared to limit it to the parents of the child plus any siblings (and there may be a limit on that number).

Does anyone know if you can enter Epcot through the International Gateway for a program that starts before park opening? I know the question has been asked before, but I haven't seen a definitive answer. It would stink to have to pay for a taxi to the front of the park, when we are staying in walking distance to the back of the park.

ETA: For anyone who didn't know, there aren't buses to Epcot from the Boardwalk area resorts, only a walkway and a boat to the International Gateway entrance.

Before this question gets buried further, I do not believe they will let you through the IG entrance before the park opens if you need to be outside the other entrance. I've seen people turned away before.

This might be a better question for the Transportation board.

One alternative may be to go instead to DHS, and there would be a bus from there to Epcot that takes you to the front. Not sure it it would be early enough though.

Yes, it is a great savings. We are a family of 5 and got 8 day tickets, so we saved about $700.

The "fine print" is that the tickets cannot be refunded or upgraded and must be used during a certain time period. As long as you are definitely going during the dates you selected, your child(ren) get a really fun experience and you get to save a lot of money.

Just to make a slight clarification on grandparents:
IF the grandparents are the ones taking the children and NOT the parents; they are assumed to be guardians in place of the parents and as such, are allowed to purchase the YES tix for their grandchildren and themselves.
However as PP's have reiterated, they are not considered immediate family if the parents & children are going together.

The wording on the website does still say the 7 days prior to arrival date and after departure date. However, my confirmation states that my tickets may be picked up beginning on the date I put in as my arrival date. The date that it states the tickets will be valid through is 7 days past the date I put in as my departure date (which is in fact 21 days that the tickets could be valid for). I don't know why the wording on the website is different than the wording on the confirmation...

I'm confused about that too. My confirmation states the same thing. I'm going July 21 -28. Booked the Animation one (Disney Studios). But I was thinking about coming in a few days earlier now, but it doesn't look like I can pick up my tx until the 21st.

I did the Wild about Nature one 2 years ago and its a lot of walking - fast walking too. I wouldn't recommend this one in the summer (especially in the afternoon) - it was awful hot. We did get to go on Safari without standing in lines (which was fun!) and I saw animals that I didn't even know AK had too (on the walking tour).

I have this same worry. We're planning on going 7/28-8/4 but might be able to go dowm a few days earlier and stay with family. Would it be ok if i just put my arrival day as a week early just in case? Or am i goimg to need to pick up the tickets on the arrival date i submitted ?

That's what I did so we could grab them on the day we arrive vs our first park day. Maybe call and tell them your plans have changed?

I would call also. I called and asked a question about picking up tickets 3 weeks ago. I seem to recall being told that you'd be emailed a # or code 6-7 days before you were scheduled to arrive. I also thought your tickets were good for 7 days before your scheduled "program".

The description of the 5-day premium ticket package mentions five visits to BB, TL, or DQ. Does it also include the option of 9 holes of golf at Oak Trail Golf Course as the regular Water Park Fun and More option on the MYW tickets? DH and DS would rather play a round of golf than go to the water parks, and it may be cooler for golf in Oct when we are there.

I'm so excited. We will save $500 for the 3 of us over full price, making the hopper and water park upgrades come out cheaper than a full price base ticket. Otherwise, I probably wouldn't be getting the premium tickets.

I'd just call and tell them you are arriving earlier and want to change the arrival date. I'm sure they would be fine with that.

I've skimmed through this thread to see if I can find the answer, but with 40 pages it's a little tricky

We are thinking of taking our Girl Guide unit to DisneyWorld and participating in a YES program. I was looking at the ticket options and the maximum days I see is a 5 day ticket...? Is this the most you can get? Or is it possible to get more (we are looking most likely at a week, so a 7 day ticket would probably be most useful)
