Disney Y.E.S. Program

I have 3 kids enrolled in YES classes on June 12th- one in the Synergy in Science and 2 in the Everyday Chemistry classes.

I was just thinking, what happens if one of the kids gets sick and can't make it to a class? One of the kids is prone to getting migraines and if we don't catch the warning signs in time, he's down for the count. In fact, he's home in bed today with one which made me think about this. I don't recall reading in the terms and conditions when I purchased the tickets what happens in a case like this (although I was admittedly reading through very quickly). Do they forfeit your tickets?

Also, this might sound like a really dumb question, but this will be the first year we've had a car and not using Disney buses so I'm not sure. You drive straight to Epcot correct and not the TTC? We are not necessarily morning people and I want to make sure that we don't screw up the day of the class and get there late because we didn't know where to go.

And lastly, we have an interesting situation and I'm wondering if anyone has any thoughts or ideas on how to handle this. We are taking our niece and nephews to DW. They have a step sister that would also like to go. Apparently her uncle was planning to take her the same week that we are there. He has already booked the same flights as us. When the YES tickets came open, I emailed him right away and told him to sign her up for one the classes on the 12th (at her age she could have done either class) so that they could get the discounted tickets. He DID NOT enroll her in either class. So, we got a call yesterday that he may no longer be able to take her. We were asked if we could take her if they paid for her tickets and food. We are staying off property in a condo so space is not a problem. We would have to rent a bigger rental car that would seat 6 instead of 5 (guessing mini-van would be the only option), meaning more money (which I think they should pay the difference on). But here is the kicker. Even if we agreed to take her, what on earth would we do with her while the other kids are in the YES classes? DH and I both have to chaperon because of the kids ages and the classes are at the same time. The classes are closed now and so I can't sign her up. I seriously doubt she'd be allowed to tag along and not participate. We can't just leave an 11 year to wander Epcot by herself for 3 hours. I hate to say that we can't take her and hurt her feelings because of a 3 hour class, but I don't know what else to do. I feel like they are putting us in a very bad situation. Any thoughts?

I just verified with YES that the waterpark / Disney Quest days match the number of park days purchased, so an 8 day premium package includes 8 park days and 8 waterpark/DQ days. That is what my confirmation said, but the information on the YES page said 5 waterpark / Disney Quest days so I wanted to be sure before we planned 8 + visits.

if i sign my older DD up for a class, can i buy YES discounted park tickets for my younger DD who is not old enough to take any of the classes? also how do fast passes work within the park with these tickets? we are huge fast pass people so this was a big deal for us

Yes, you can buy a discounted ticket for your DD.

Fastpasses don't work any differently with these tickets than any other ticket :)

Yes, I did this just a couple days ago. You enter them in the list as if they are a student, but then you only select the child (and parent if necessary) taking the course on the next screen.

Fastpasses work as normal. The tickets you will receive look like standard MYW tickets, and will be what you place in the turnstiles and FP kiosks (as opposed to the KTTW card). I'm not aware of being able to put YES tickets on a KTTW card.

I can only answer this part - you can drive directly to and park at Epcot.

You CAN park at TTC and take the monorail, but I wouldn't chance issues with the monorail if I need to be at the park at a certain time.

On the other things, I suggest calling and ask. I'd wonder if they have some accommodation for when there is only one parent with two kids under 13...

Yippie! Just signed up my grandson for Oct 19th production arts and science. He's excited to do this.

I first had the same thought about signing up- I couldn't figure out where to put my grandaughter since she is 5 and there is no class for her but once I went back and read the directions (go figure) I did it as stated above. Easy-peasy.:goodvibes
So we have 7 day premium. Who knows, we may have to check out a water park this trip!

My son (8) and I will be in the Synergy in Science class June 12th too. It's our first YES class. So excited!

My 13 year old daughter is signed up for this class. Anyone else? We need to meet at 7:15 at the TTC. Pretty early but we will take a cab from Pop. She is really excited and this is the class she has been excited to take. So happy it was offered during our week.

My DD and her 2BFF too. :cool1:They are also going to the physics of Disney on Aug 20th. We are so excited!

My older DD and DH will be at the Physics class too. (The 12-17 session) :thumbsup2

I will be with my two younger kids at the How Things Move class also at MK that day.

Hey, it's probably been covered, but has anyone ever had their class cancelled? And if so, what happens?

I would call the YES program, explain the situation and see if they could possibly add her to one of the programs.

you still get to use your tickets without having to attend another class

Great, thanks! Any idea if we can transfer to another class if it's available? DD had 3 of them that she really wanted to do :lmao: Not that I expect it to be cancelled the way things appear to be filling up!

memory is telling me that they will offer you other classes if there is availability, you are not required to make the switch.

Is anyone doing the June 18 World of Physics at Magic Kingdom? My 16yo niece & 13yo nephew are doing it - me, too! We can't wait to go behind the scenes at the Haunted Mansion!
