When I signed DS up this year, he took the last spot in the class, and the website changed immediately to closed. SO I would say that it is technically possible for the class to close before you registered the second child/parent.

For what it's worth, when we went last year we signed up 2 kids/1 parent and the morning of the class (synergy in science) we asked if it would be ok for the other parent to tag along, and our cm had no problem with it. I have no idea if this depends on the cm, or the class or time of year or what. We just thought we would ask and if they said no, no big deal, but it was nice for DH and I to both be there.

Oh, yes, you're right! It is possible for the class to fill. I wasn't thinking of it that way.

LOL. I was thinking, for whatever reason, that they were planning to sign up as soon as the classes opened. I don't know what in the world led me to assume that. Duh.

DD16 & DS15 did Production Arts & Science at HS 8/14. Since busing is not provided they needed to take a taxi from AKL. I had DS19 & DD24 go with them. Luckily I did as the taxi driver left WDW insisting they had told her Universal Studios

CM would not let DD24 stay with them at the class. He said they were over 13 & didn't need a chaperone.

Kids liked the TOT portion but too hot to enjoy the rest. You are outside most of the 3 hours. No water was provided & I didn't think to give them extra money to buy it or bring it

We did do TL, DQ & mini golf at Fantasia Gardens so I'm glad I had upgraded to the premium tics.

So mixed experience overall. Next time I will pick a class closer to the resort we are staying at. Oh yeah & have them bring water

Please forgive me, I just discovered this thread but sooooo many pages!!! DD14 only child, so I am thinking I can still get YES tix for all 3 of us and she attends just one class. Correct?

DD14 shy, quiet girl and we are going in Late June 2013 - I can't see prior late June class offerings just ongoing classes from Aug 2012 - Anyone have any suggestions for a class that would be indoors? The marine biology one looks great but I have no idea if this is historically offered late June.

Any other backup ideas? The Chemisty one she would run screaming from....but the other one I saw Production, etc. at DHS looks like outdoor class and the heat..ugh..But gotta do what we gotta do!

So any thoughts of an indoor class> Thank you!

Is it? That's good to know. We're doing it in October, actually a good month for outside activities! Will an 11 yr. old boy like this class? He's very excited!

I'm not sure about that particular class, but there are classes that start at 7:15 and I think the buses aren't running early enough for those ones.

We asked the bus driver the night before & he said the buses only start running 1 hour before park opening to HS. The class was starting at 7:45. The weather should be a bit better in October.

I felt really bad forgetting to have them bring water. It was really hot last week.

When we've been there, the buses have started running around 7:00 (because restaurants open for character breakfasts around 8:00). Still, you might be cutting it close with a 7:45 class, depending on where you're staying. Maybe you could make it, but you wouldn't know for sure.

Ocean Discoveries had parts that were fine for 11 year olds... then some parts where they played a group game was on the young side.. but its all ok.. I was still thrilled to get the tickets so cheap!

You're welcome. You MIGHT make it to HS by 7:45 taking the bus. They usually start running around 7:00. If your resort is far away and/or has lots of bus stops, then maybe not. I don't think I'd chance it from Ft Wilderness, for example. From AKL or Pop Century you would probably get there with time to spare.

I may consult the front desk at OKW before calling a cab, but no big deal.

That just isn't true. I don't know why everyone always says that. It drives me crazy.

We have had an 8:05 Hollywood & Vine ADR before, more than once, and we took the bus (ditto for Tusker House at AK, Crystal Palace at MK, and CRT at MK). If a park has a restaurant open for breakfast ADRs at 8:00 am then the buses will start running by 7:00. We have taken a bus to MK, HS, and AK at 7:00 - 7:15 on days that the parks opened at 9:00 (from Pop Century, AKV, OKW, and POFQ that I recall for certain, probably others as well). You don't have to believe me, lol. Walk out to the bus stop one morning at 7:15 on your next trip and see how many buses stop, going to all the parks.

If you go over to the transportation board and ask, I'm sure others will tell you the same.

ETA: I didn't mean it isn't true that you asked and were told 8:00, btw. I meant that it isn't true buses start running at 8:00. (Didn't want you to think I was calling you a liar. I'm not. I know the CMs tell people that.)

On the transportation board I searched "what time buses character breakfast" and in the first ten results were quite a few replies that buses start running at 6:30. We've never tried to catch one that early. For those of you with early classes, that would probably be worth doing more research.

Just wanted to jump in and comment on this...from staying at FW several times during Homeschool Days and adding a few classes, one of our homeschool family friends was signed up for the same Animation Magic class as we were (which began at 7:45, too) and they took the bus while we drove our car. I had to go back to FW because I actually forgot our KTW card and tickets at our site so it took us longer, but they arrived ahead of us on the bus, said they got there about 7:30 while we were nearly late. So, that being said, I think the bus is safe to take.
