Disney world ticket prices

I have no idea so I'm just going to bump this back to page one for you, in hopes that some of our veterans can offer advice.

I had a cast member tell me once that it is usually before Spring Break - I don't know if that's true or not...makes sense :charac2:

The bottom line is that there is no real way of predicting price increases. There seem to be a number of factors into the timing, including:
1) The length of time that has passed since the last increase. (Duh!)
2) Price increases taken by the competition.
3) An approaching peak traffic season.

But there's no fool-proof formula. WDW price increases are only usually announced a short time (days) before they go into effect.

Where would the increases normally be announced, if they do, a few days before? I'd love to wait till after the holidays to buy ours online for a Jan27 trip, but I'm wondering if I should do it before the first of the year just in case.... ugh, I hate laboring over such decisions  Maybe I can keep an eye out for the announcement somewhere and that would make me feel better about it.

Park hopper plus tickets last went up in March 2004, according to Mousesaver.com, so I'm hoping they won't go up before the first of the year.

The best source for notices would be on sites like this one. Word gets around fast once Disney alerts travel agencies, AAA, etc. Also, one other thing to note is that all WDW price increases take place the same day of the week (Sunday, I believe).

The entire ticket pricing structure will change completely on Jan 2, 2005. The base price for a one-day, one park ticket will be about $5 higher than the current price, but 1D1P has not been the most economical choice for many years. The more days you purchase, the less expensive per day your tickets will be (less than $30 per day for some 7-day tickets). The new options and prices will be a bit confusing at first, simply because so much is changing at once, but it's really more straight-forward than it seems and there are many advantages to the new, more flexible system.
