Disney World Engagement

I love reading all these engagement stories! Ours was nice and private, which was exactly what I would have wanted. We watched the EPCOT fireworks from the bridge by the beach club, but so many people came pouring out of EPCOT (and there was rain pouring out the sky), that my husband started leading me away from it. I had a great time splashing in the puddles because I love the rain. We ended up on the walkway from the boardwalk toward HS, and the timing somehow worked out where we were seeing fireworks from HS. He proposed, we walked over to the swan? dolphin? whichever one is right there with the palm trees and color changing lights. Frank Sinatra was playing over the speakers. It was pretty cool :)

My brother proposed to his now-wife in front of the Castle by presenting her with one of the large glass slippers engraved with "Will You Marry Me?" and holding the ring. We just told the photopass photographer early on, so they were ready. It was completely free, totally awesome, and didn't require massive coordination to pull off, which I think is a plus for an engagement, honestly. He was so nervous as it was, I can't imagine anything more complicated!

If people are willing to spend a bit of money you can have the glass slipper presented to you with fanfair inside the castle at Royal Table. I re-proposed to my wife in there. =)

I proposed at Cinderella's Wishing Well. We had dinner reservations at Cinderella's Royal Table that evening. We had spent the day at Animal Kingdom, but I made sure that we arrived at the Magic Kingdom a little early so we had some time to kill. While waiting for our reservation time we strolled over to the wishing well (she didn't even know it existed). I had two quarters for us to toss in and make a wish. While she tossed her quarter in I got down on one knee and pulled the ring out of my pocket. We then enjoyed our dinner inside the Castle and ended the evening by viewing Wishes.

Cinderella's Wishing Well was the perfect location for us because it is somewhat secluded so we didn't feel that we were on display. A few families were passing by while I was proposing and were quick to congratulate us, but it felt like we had the whole Kingdom to ourselves in that location.

Now that we have kids we have been fortunate to take a couple of trips, and each time we have ironically been in the Magic Kingdom on the anniversary of our engagement (unplanned each time, just the luck of how we have planned our trips). We have taken our boys to the wishing well each time and we all toss quarters in.

Great story. Thanks for sharing

We got engaged on our trip just a few weeks ago July 2021. I read this thread a lot while planning, and thought would share our experience. We met during the pandemic and went to Disney August 2020 staying at BLT on our first trip as a couple together. Shortly thereafter, we bought at BLT, which was the first thing we bought together.

This trip, we were staying at BLT and SS for a 12 day split day with our 4 older teenage kids on their first trip with all of us together and I had everything planned 60 days in advance. I didn't use Disney Engagements, but instead had booked Capture your Moment by Disney for just the two of us first thing at park open on Sunday July 25th with dinner planned for the evening at BOG. I had planned on proposing at the castle either at the wishing well or in front first thing before guests were in the background. Then she got an email on Wednesday while we were in the parks about a special premier for Jungle Cruise on Sunday the 25th at Disney Springs. Well she asked our teenagers who were with us if they wanted to go and they all were excited and said it be cool to see it before almost anyone else. So Plan A was out the window. Time to pivot.

So Saturday July 24th was a non-park day for us. First time I took the ring out of safekeeping and had it on me to be spontaneous. The boys had wanted to hit the pool and relax at the resort. Just the two of us went to the Polly to walk around down by the beach. Then walked over to the wedding pavilion. We were brushed aside from looking around as they had a wedding that day, we made it over to GF to view the lobby and walk the grounds, still didn't have the right vibe. Back to BLT and the kids. We had dinner at Whispering Canyon with our boys and checked out Wilderness Lodge grounds. Still wasn't the right vibe. Finally that night, I said let's put something nice and and just the two of us walk over the bridge to California Grill. No reservations, but spoke to the desk, and they let us up to have a bottle of wine at the bar. I passed a message to our bartender, and he was in on it. He worked with me to convince her out on the balcony for fireworks (she doesn't like heights) and we were on the balcony front row for HEA.

Now, both of us love Disney, and have been many many times. Neither one of us had been to California Grill and Top of the World was closed last trip and this trip. So as the fireworks and music swelled, I finally felt the timing was right, was able to pass my phone while recording to someone behind us, and dropped to a knee and popped the question just before the grand finale and she said yes.

In retrospect Plan B was the better plan. Now when we stay at BLT using our points, that is "our" resort in many ways, and every time we see the Contemporary, we look up to where we got engaged. Planning is great, but you'll know when the moment is really right and special.

I *love* this! Thanks for sharing your story!

Hey everyone! New to the site, so apologize in advance for any basic questions I ask. Anyways, I am planning to propose to my GF during our family Christmas trip to Disney World! Was maybe planning to do it on Christmas day, still trying to figure that one out. But, I was wondering if anyone has had any experiences with Disney Engagements and how that went for them? Or, if anyone has gone a different route from Disney Engagements but still had Disney involved? I spoke with a rep from Disney Weddings and she gave me a starting price point of $5,000 and told me that a planning specialist would be in touch with me for addtl details so still currently waiting on that. Thanks everyone in advance!!
Way over priced and they are not helpful at all. You can Google search companies that will do a engagement photo shoot at disney or you can hire a photo pass person to do one just dont say its for an engagement. The wishing well is a good place but I know a lot of people who did it there. Maybe try to figure out a place that significant to you guys. $5000 super not worth it and 10/10 should recommend against it.
