Disney World Camera Equipment Restrictions

Hi all,

First off, sorry if this has been asked before and if it has, please feel free to close this thread.

So, Im off to WDW next June and Im planning on taking some camera equipment with me and I was wondering what the restrictions are at Disney World these days with stuff like a Joby GorillaPod. I know selfie sticks have been banned (thankfully), but I wasn't sure if its the same for GorillaPod's etc?

I recently came back from a trip to Disneyland in California and I had no issue whatsoever with the GorrilaPod and using it around the park. The same with using my GoPro with a handler on rides like Splash Mountain or Grizzly Bear Run but I wasn't sure if Disney have the same rules and regulations for all of their parks, or if each one is different. Has anyone had any experience with this at WDW?

GoPro The Handler is fine.

I was a little worried that the rules might be different at WDW compared to say Disneyland but thats good news that ill be ok with them. Thanks again!

In the FAQs for DW, there is a list of items not allowed in the parks and it includes the following pieces of photography equipment:

• Tripod stands or monopod stands that cannot fit inside a standard backpack
• 
  
• Selfie sticks (hand-held extension poles for cameras and mobile devices)

Speaking from experience, do not bring one of these in. I was stopped at the gate and they wouldn't even listen to our speech that it was for my son's school project.
