Disney Wonder Ship Question

What is the Edge?

The Edge is a new space/club area for 11-13 year olds..on the new ships, they have a dedicated space, for the Magic/Wonder they had to 'make' it out of existing meeting rooms...so it's fairly small but our kids still enjoyed it!

I doubt it. Tough to wire into an exisiting ship.

Could be. Sometimes though they have conduits in these things so adding existing wiring isn't as difficult as one would think. Just curious is all. It would even be possible to do this with wireless technology.

Anyone recently been on the Wonder to know if all the bedding has been changed out (I mean the bed linens)?

Also they are enclosing the back of the buffet from what we hear (during the drydock).

The Magic went into dry dock in 2010. The plans for the Dream and Fantasy have been known for quite some time. It seems to me that if there were a plan to retrofit the portholes into the "classic" ships, that they would have done it to the Magic already. I strongly suspect that the portholes are one of the "selling points" of the. . .what is the PC term for the "new" ships?

I'm told the Dream is gorgeous, and I'm interested, but I _really_ like the "small" feel of the "classic" ships. Then again, once we've finished AK, I think it will be a LONG time before we cruise again!

Yeah that is true. But it also would be common for a company to have the latest and greatest on their new ship at first but then add to their other ships later. If they added it to the Magic in 2010 it would have made the launch of the Dream and Fantasy not as special as far as the portholes go. But since they will be launched and sailing before the Wonder's dry dock I don't think it would be as big of a deal if they added them to the older ships after. The same thing for the bedding. I am sure it wasn't coincidence that the dream had the new bedding and then the smaller ships followed after even though Disney probably knew what bedding they were going to use long before the Dream was complete and could have changed the bedding on the Magic and Wonder first.

If it adds demand for the inside rooms it might actually allow them to raise their prices and we know Disney loves to do that. I am guessing it is more of an economical question. If they add them what would the cost be to Disney. Does the cost of install allow them to increase the prices they charge enough to offset the install cost? If yes then they might add them. If the install would decrease the amount they could charge on the new ships they might not but I highly doubt putting the portholes on the Wonder would effect pricing on the Dream/Fantasy.

I guess the main question would be could they install them while in dry dock. Would they have enough time? Plus how much would it cost and is it worth it business wise to add it?
