Disney Wonder September 3, 2012. Seattle to Vancouver 7 night Alaska Cruise!

Last year, it was a Princess Tea--there were 4-5 princesses and you could get pictures. No Alice. Tiana and Cinderella were two of them--don't remember which others. We didn't do it on Tracy Arm Day--we did it on the last day of the cruise. There were two days to pick from, and we got there early enough to get the one we wanted. They served apple juice (not tea) and chocolate chip cookies. It is very much for the little ones.

If you plan to go, you want to make a beeline for guest services as soon as you get on the ship.

Great! Thanks for the info. I had read some reports about it being on Tracy Arm day, so I'm glad there's a second day too. I'm sure my son won't care, but I want to go :cool1:

Booked and uber excited for September 3rd to Alaska! Flying solo and hoping to have a good time and some new experiences! And maybe meet some new friends along the way too...who knows!

Staying in Vancouver for only one night after the cruise docks. With that limited amount of time, any feedback from anyone from the Vancouver area as far as what to do? What's the one thing you'd recommend seeing if you had only one day/night?

The countdown begins!

Mike :goodvibes

Hello fellow solo traveller!

If I only had one day/night in Vancouver I would definitely check out Stanley Park and the Aquarium, and also Granville Island ;)

Hey, i had forgotten to ask...but, did i see some vegetarians on our fe list? I myself have been since 5th grade.

I'm also a Vegetarian (I have been for 22 years) although I'm more Vegan these days. I've actually requested Vegan meals on the Cruise and I'm interested to see how Disney handles this.

I am a very picky eater and Disney handle that very well in my last cruise (first cruise). Remind your server the first night and he'll take care of you.

Chalk up one more vote for Stanley Park and the aquarium.

Any recommendations of a good area(downtown, etc.) to stay for all that stuff?

Thanks for your input!

mellers, I just got chill bumps, knowing your daughter is volunteering at the childrens hospital. i still have them.......I so love seeing young people with a caring attitude, whether it is helping people or animals or our planet. THANKS MELLERS....YOU PUT A BIG SMILE ON MY FACE AND I AM SURE MANY OTHERS. Also a BIG HUG to our fe MACY,as she is into saving the planet.....THANKS MACY....

ME TOOO......I AM SO NEAR VEGAN, THAT IS WHAT I AM SIGNED FOR ALSO AND MY SISTER AND NEICE HAVE SIGNED IN AS VEGETARIANS, I HAVE DONE RESEARCH INTO DISNEY AND VEGANS(GLUTTEN FREE & ALLERGIES) AND FIND THAT DISNEY IS SUPPOSE TO BE WELL EQUIPPED TO HANDLE US. I FORGET WHAT SIGHT, BUT ONE WOMEN AND HER DAUGHTER WERE VEGAN AND HAD FOOD ALLERGIES AND SAID DISNEY WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND FOR THEM. FROM APPETIZERS TO DESSERT. FROM SHIP TO PORT...:stir::banana:

Let me second this--I have stomach paralysis, and the list of what I can eat is shorter than the list of what I can't. I never had a bad meal, or an inappropriate meal, any night on the ship. That is part of the reason we decided to do this again this year.

Hey all. I was looking at my DVC points and noticed that I needed to use some up so I just booked this cruise. I see that there are a ton of people from here that are going to be on the cruise. I also just found out about the Fish Extender and wondered where to sign up for that? I'm really into trading things and helping people out and love talking to people. I actually just got back from Disneyland where I traded about 1000 pins in 8 days. lol. I hope to maybe trade on the ship to with anyone that has pins from other places.

Off to try to figure out the trips now. Any suggestions? What I was thinking was...
Juneau Mendenhall something
Skagway Whitepass RR
Ketchikan Walk around town, see the totem pole center

Anything better or else I should plan?

Thanks so much for any help.

Welcome to our little group! We're doing:

I would definately recommend to stay downtown as it makes it easier to get around.

That's so awesome - I did worry I was going to be the only Vegan! I sailed on the Wonder on the 3 nights Bahamas cruise years ago and ate Vegetarian with no problem at all and I have seen couple of trip reports on Vegan food on the cruise so I have faith that Disney will look after us. The worse case scenario is just eating Vegetarian instead of Vegan which is what I usually end up doing when I travel ;)

The only kid in the group is me! I love acting like a kid and trying to have fun. I love playing with the kids though. I really wish we did have kids, but it doesn't look like it will ever be in the cards for us. So it will be just the wife and I.

I'll have to look into those options. We don't really like Salmon, so the bakes are usually out. We both love the crab though.

We are a bit over weight also, so the more physical ones are out.

I remember doing a rafting trip down the Mendenhall when I was there 20 years ago, that was really fun.

Ok, back to planning. Cheapest air is a problem. Trying to figure out if round trip from SEA and finding a bus is better than 2 one-way flights. And the Passport is a pain. Have to hurry up and get that renewed! Then all these trips... Tons to do.

A hearty .:welcome:"WELCOME" :wave2: to all the new people. So glad to have you join us. Can anyone tell me what DVC is? and GTY? I am new to Disney and i am computer illiterate.:badpc: Would be so glad if anyone could catch me up on some of these. I think we have some really great people on this disboard and in our fe group. We cant help but have fun.:rockband: But i am NOT going to Kareoke. And trust me......you will be glad. Maybe someone else will be brave enough to do it. On our last cruise(carnival) we actually enjoyed watching and listening to some of the Kareoke. And some not so much, but they deserved great praise for getting up there. As always, my husband and I read the newest threads together before we go to sleep. Thanks for all the info and happy plans for cruisin. ALASKA HERE WE COME!!!!!!!!!!

Hi All!

My daughter and I have decided to join the FE! We're not very creative but we do have a few ideas :confused3

Earlier someone had asked for favorite characters of those particpating in the FE. As you can probably tell from my signature and name:

Me Dumbo (I've been collecting for years!)
DD Donald Duck

Can anyone confirm a Dis Meet for our group?

Thanks!

So glad to have more people on the board, and more people joining the FE! Welcome!

We are Spending the disembarkation day in Vancouver, as well, and are thinking the aquarium. My in laws are full time RVers, and they will be meeting us at the port, we will stay with them that night then drive back to Seattle and home!

Hey Lil... Thanks for the hearty welcome. DVC is Disney Vacation Club. It's a Disney Timeshare. I get points from Disney to use for days at the hotels or cruises. I got the smallest amount, 100 pts. I used last years, this years, and next years, and just paid $95 processing fee to cruise. It was $100/point when I got it, and you get points for up to 50 years(mine will only last 45). If I got 300 points - $30k, I could cruise every year for free, for 45 years.

They will probably have a person on board that will talk about it if you were interested. If you do happen to join, please tell them I sent you. I get a few extra points... :) Brian Hyson.

See ya on board!
