Disney Wonder September 3, 2012. Seattle to Vancouver 7 night Alaska Cruise!

Dear Dumbo Collector, So glad you guys are joining the fe. Dont worry about being creative...I promise you it will be easy. Jim & I just used what we had laying around the house for our fe and added afew disney stick ons from Michaels. It is so us....I hope you all can figure out what it is when you see it. Also gifts for the fe's, are everywhere. I have already spent so much and things just keep throwing themselves at me. You arent suppose to spend much, but there is so much you can do for this fe. ITS GREAT FUN,,,I am glad to see you and your daughter traveling together. My mom and I were great traveling companions.....I miss her so much.

Hey There Mr.Happy, Thanks for the info. I have seen people use these terms often in the thread, not knowing what they meant.

Ok, back to planning. Cheapest air is a problem. Trying to figure out if round trip from SEA and finding a bus is better than 2 one-way flights. And the Passport is a pain. Have to hurry up and get that renewed! Then all these trips... Tons to do.

Where are you flying from? We're in Denver and it was WAY cheaper to do round trip to/from Seattle. We were able to get a one-way car rental from Vancouver to Seattle for about $120. We got the plane tickets for $100 each way per person. Unfortunately, our times aren't the best, so I'm still checking Southwest everyday to hopefully get better times. Air fare kind of sucks right now...

Last year, it was a Princess Tea--there were 4-5 princesses and you could get pictures. No Alice. Tiana and Cinderella were two of them--don't remember which others. We didn't do it on Tracy Arm Day--we did it on the last day of the cruise. There were two days to pick from, and we got there early enough to get the one we wanted. They served apple juice (not tea) and chocolate chip cookies. It is very much for the little ones.

If you plan to go, you want to make a beeline for guest services as soon as you get on the ship.

Can you reserve the Princess Tea in advance?

I flying from Silicon Valley. I found a bus that will take us from the ports to SEA for $57/each. I'm just trying to figure out a good flight too. I think I'll look into the personal car though too. Doesn't sound like much of a difference.

MrHappy -

I'm always on the lookout for Dumbo pins to add to my collection. I have quite a few but I'm sure there are many I don't have. (Hint, hint! :goodvibes) I'll have a few pins with me on the cruise to trade. Nothing special, though. If you traded that many pins recently, I'm sure you have all the ones I do!

Looking forward to seeing the pins you bring along!

Does anyone that's been on a DCL have a normal cost for the extras so I can plan them into my budget? Palo, massages, drinks... Thanks

It really depends on what you plan to do.

Last year, we booked all of our excursions ourselves (saved a lot of money that way), we didn't drink any alcohol (medications don't allow), and we didn't do any massages or Palo, so we may not be typical, but the only things we paid for were gratuities, four loads of laundry and a bag of candy.

Please remove me from you fish extender list. with the B2B fiasco, my fiancee and I have rescheduled our honeymoon for a later date :(

mellers, I just got chill bumps, knowing your daughter is volunteering at the childrens hospital. i still have them.......I so love seeing young people with a caring attitude, whether it is helping people or animals or our planet. THANKS MELLERS....YOU PUT A BIG SMILE ON MY FACE AND I AM SURE MANY OTHERS. Also a BIG HUG to our fe MACY,as she is into saving the planet.....THANKS MACY....

Thank you--she is a great kid.

Palo is $20 per person plus extra tip. People vary greatly on the "extra tip" part and God help you if you bring it up on the boards :rotfl: We tipped an extra $10 for brunch and $15 for dinner. The Margarita tasting was $15 per person. All the spa treatments are different. I think a manicure is around $50 while a pedicure is around $80. You can get those prices off the excursions websites. I think the "drink of the day"s were $6-$8. I know the sail-away drink was around $8.50, but we got to keep the glass. I think the only other costs we had were pictures and stuff from the gift shop. I'm guessing we're going to be spending a pretty penny on pictures this cruise :scratchin

I am sorry to heard about the cancelation of your honeymoon. Do not do what we did. We postponed our honeymoon and years went by. Now after almost 39 years we finally having our honeymoon. Congratulations on your wedding and happy many years to come.

Hi All,

Sorry to say but due to Disney's B2B screw-up we've decided to drop this cruise. Made no sense for us to travel from the east coast just to do one cruise.

Please remove us from the FE list.

Hope everyone has a great cruise and we'll see you on some future cruise.

Bob & Dale

Hi Everyone...
