Disney Wonder - Sept 30 2010 3 Night Bahamas

tinkerbell I called about your room and got some answers. They said they gave you the Roy's room because you're so special. So it looks like my family will be bunking with you. :lmao:
Haha how kind of you to call! Can't wait to see the room. Everyone party in my suite!!! ...if only it were true. :)

DH (28) and me (29) wanna book this cruise kid free :dance3: but were kinda scared of the oil, anyone else thinking by this time there will be oil in CC or the ocean will have a smell?
Im sure were going to book anyways as soon as my DH sells his vinylmations to cover the cost.
This will be our 1st cruise and we would be in cat 11.

Hey! Awesome that you are thinking of joining us! I am thinking that the oil wont make it there by then. Given the time it has been gushing (first of May?) and it hasnt gotten out of the Gulf yet, I would say no. I also read where they said even though it might go that way, it would have settled so low that it wont affect the ships and air etc. Even the beaches that have been affected has had tar balls not covered beaches (if I am wrong, please correct me :D)

What are vinylmations?

Unfortunatley tar balls have been seen near Pensacola Beach, Florida :sad2:

I haven't been following the situation that closely, but from what I was told it is not going to affect the Bahamas. Lets keep our fingers crossed.

I heard they hit Destin (I think). That is such a wonderful place. But this isnt messing up the beaches right? I mean, I am sure that is weird and probably a health hazard right? Those poor fish. I still cant believe that they havent caped this thing. I thought for sure they did.

Did you hear about the churches that are suing BP because their donations have been down since this started? I don't get it.

Last update I heard was tar balls from Galveston, Tx to Destin, Fl. They can be a health risk if you are allergic (or eaten ). Mostly, it is just messy and hard to clean off. I remember as a kid, going to the Texas beaches and getting tar on our feet and then the in the car. The beaches are much cleaner these days and I hope it stays that way.

really???? that just seems so wrong!!!

I feel really bad for everyone that lives down there... This is going to hurt lots of people... All that "nature" being destroyed by this too. awfull!!!

I can't believe they haven;t been able to cap it either!!

there was a video on youtube showing people still swimming in the water, the beach was covered in tar balls  Families with young children :scared:

I cant believe they havent capped it either. I thought surely they can dig down to get it, they can cap it off!

I also heard that if you are near it, there is a gas associated with the oil that can be hazardous to your health but if it is deep enough (like they predict it will be when it reaches the Bahamas) it doesn't come up to the surface. I can't believe people let their kids swim in it. During our flood I saw video of kids swimming and playing in the water. Did people not think that there was sewer water in there? YUCK!!!

I hate to ask this but does anyone know when the cut off date is to get your money back without fees?

I am hoping not, but we just found out that we have a water pipe that has cracked and we have to take out our cabinets, slice through the wall, and have them replace/fix the pipe. We have no idea how much this is going to cost. I found out that I paid my last payment on my car this much (I knew it but didnt realize that this was the month) so we might be OK but again, I have no idea if it is going to cost $2,000 or $10,000. If it is the latter, we might have to cancel.

So as long as we are over 80 days out, I can get my full refund? That wording has always confused me. I thought I heard from someone that if you are before the dates your balance is due, then you wont be charged a fee, but I have no idea. :(

I hope you don't have to cancel,
You could always cancel the other cruise and keep this one :rolleyes1

 it is logical :teacher:... after all the other cost more and you can't cancel all the fun
;)

seriously I do hope it won't be too bad, it will work out :cheer2:

I just hope it is a matter of $1,000 or less. I have asked a friend to come over to move the cabinets so I wont have to pay a contractor to do that. I am going to replace the sink since that one is crappy. I think it will be a matter of how much the pipe costs, and how hard it will be to replace it (aka labor). My neighbor across the street is doing the plumbing (he owns a business) so I trust the cost wont be padded but I will insist on paying for it. That is his livelyhood after all! Anyway, praying that this will all work out and nothing will change but I have no problems downgrading to keep the cruise going but I will accept having to cancel too. I will be bumed but I know the Lord knows what's best for me! :teeth: That's good enough for me.

Sorry for being so off topic. I just feel like you guys are my friends, not strangers I have never met before. Hehehehe
