Disney Wonder - Sept 30 2010 3 Night Bahamas

Sorry you guys are fighting, and no that's not too much info... We fight all the time before vacation... We both have stressful jobs, and with him being a contractor, let's just say things weren't like they were. He's fortunate he has work, but we just have to watch things closer! During the middle of all the stuff with the funeral today, he says "Darrell (an employee) called and there's no electricity at the shop... Did you pay the bill?" Okay first of all, yes, I paid the bill... It's on draft. Second of all, really, during the funeral, did you have to take that phone call?... Come to find out, we have about 8 accounts for houses under construction, and all of them are on draft, but for some reason, the utility company dropped the draft on our office. UGH! And then, he has the stress of trying to line up construction continuing while we are gone, and well, we are just better off not to talk to each other. We have left on trips not speaking to each other before, and then we laugh about it. But, hopefully things will blow over for you guys. I'm sure it will.

Thanks Steph! Eoghan works for a moving company, so sometimes we are stressed out due to $ issues too. Because it's physical labor, he's tired a lot (and he gets cranky)...I try hard not to nag him when he's tired, but sometimes I just really need his help with something etc...(this is not what caused the argument the other night, but just an example).
It's tough, we are still growing as we've only been together for a little more than 3 years total.
It just made me so sad to be fighting like that like 2 days before we have to leave..

I might not be on much today as I have LOADS of work to do and it's my last day (we leave the house at 7:45am tomorrow morning to drop my car at my mom's and then the car service is picking us up to take us to the airport! Our flight leaves at 11:25am)

I can't check the boards too easily from my phone, but I have some cell numbers (Jackie, Alex, Jen, Steph...) and then there's FB too, which I can check!
Is there a plan for MNSSHP? If not, I will text those of you whose numbers I have, so we can at least try to meet up! OMG!! I still have to finish packing and go shopping tonight and I can't leave work early! Eesh...

Can't wait for the cruise!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm here! Going shopping this morning to finish last minute stuff, then home to start packing stuff!

But the real question is... did you remember the clorox wipes? You've got a few days to find them before the verandah!

.... So frustrated... went to Raleigh last night for dinner (about an hour away from where I live)... So, I decided to go ahead into the Disney store and buy the gift cards that my mom wanted me to get for the kids. Buying 2 gift cards should take 5 minutes right? WRONG~! I walked in at 8:30. At 8:35, I was at the counter and they were ringing up my sale. The final receipt didn't print, so they decided to do an inquiry on the balance of the gift cards to make sure they were activated... Here's the problem, one was, one wasn't... but, MY card was CHARGED for both! They spent an HOUR on the phone trying to figure out how to get my money back to the card... I still don't have it.... I have the name and phone number of everyone, and they are trying to fix it... I'm so ticked right now at Disney's computer system and customer service center.... So, will be back on the phone with them today... they gave me the card, all the transaction activity from their computer, etc, and are "suppose" to put the money on the card as soon as they figure out what happened. We shall see!

I am leaving Tuesday... But, we have a weekend of things, Monday is slammed at work, and Tuesday, I'm going to get this mop on my head cut and colored and finish whatever I realize this weekend I don't have. We will leave as soon as my daughter gets out of school. The car will be packed when we pick her up so we can head back to the airport.

It was so frustrating last night because the stupid system wouldn't let them void the transaction either. The manager was loosing it. She really was wonderful and was trying to figure out how to get me out of the store with my card in hand, and everyone she called was of no help. Someone came into the system remotely and reviewed the activity and could see where my card was charged and the gc wasn't activated.

Make sure that whomever colors your hair knows you are going on a cruise. Mom wanted to get reverse highlights and her hairdresser couldnt fit it in so she just cut it. She found out that we are going on a cruise and she said "I am glad I didnt! That sun would have really messed it up!" so make sure!

I am at Port canaveral. Toured the port and saw the disney terminal! TOO COOL!! And I could see the Carnival cruise from my room!! I am hoping so much that I can see the Wonder when she comes in. I am pretty sure I can because the view is just like the port webcam!!!!!!

Hi to those still left counting down the days!

I've started packing, in fact made a pretty good dent it in this weekend (since I won't see DH again until wake up to go to the airport and since our ride is coming at 7:30 Weds AM and I work until 2am that morning I'm quite certain I will be in no shape to get anything done then). Still need to get to the store for a few things (like Clorox wipes, I know I don't have a balcony but nonetheless...). My glasses broke last week (I usually wear contacts but like to have them as a back up & at nights) and the little fix it kit I had at home didn't work so I have to try to get to the eye doctor to get them fixed, took my dress to the dry cleaners & it won't be ready until after 3 on Tues (I leave for work at 3 so it better not be too late!) and have a bikini wax tomorrow. I really should write this stuff down so I don't forget something...

We had one of those good/bad things happen today - we were heading out & walked to the car & the sprinklers were on. Umm, they don't usually come on midday. I looked at the main valves and there was water gushing out. The shut off plunger broke so the water pressure was just free flowing with the sprinklers on. Had we not found it it would have run & run & run. Only way to fix it is shut off the water or replace it. Of course we can't have the water off since we are gone for 2 weeks so we had to drop everything & run out to buy the parts to fix it. I'm just thankful it happened now & not while we are away!!

I'm so jealous that a good part of our wonderful bunch is already there! 55 1/2 hours until I leave my house and 62 hrs until I'm in Florida!!

So looking forward to 3pm Thursday!!!

Wow! Glad you found that problem... Would have hated to see your water bill. UGH!
