Vicki-- SNOW?! Pictures, pictures, pictures!


..and no, I'm crazy.. and it's for a tattoo that is basically going to symbolize my love of travel. I want a saying. Someone suggested "Bon Voyage" as my entire tattoo and I like the idea but instead I'm just going to get it as part.

I thought about just getting "Carpe Diem" because with the craziness I go about trying to go on these trips, thats just what I'm doing!

How about "Traveler"? Or a Japanese symbol for travelling, or something similar?

Thanks for the info Patsy! I am guessing that it's because of the location that the healing time will differ....because of the regeneration process. If you think of it and have the time, would you mind asking? I haven't gone to any tattoo places yet. I know I'll either be scared to death or want one right then and there. I'm crazy that way.

Keep us posted. I can't wait to see yours. Maybe it's time to have everyone post their tattoo pictures on our thread. What say you?

I don't have any tattoos. I have psoriasis, so I'm scared to get one so I guess I'll stick to henna!

Hiya, Tae Ja! Things are HOT in Colorado. I'm dying. I'm a cold-weather person, and this is ridiculous. The Renaissance Festival started, and I'm seriously worried about my DH's health because of the heat.

He likes his new job, though he feels over-qualified. It's a sad commentary on society, but he works for a woman and he says the clients are responding better to him because he's a man. Of course, she loves him because her job is easier now. That's a good thing, I guess. We're really kind of regretting passing up the driving job, though I still say that it would have been too many hours. Hindsight is 20/20, I guess.

No pending trips--YET. Look at my ticker--if we don't have a trip by the end of September, I may do something drastic. Like, a cruise. I've been having cruise dreams lately. Then again, we have no passports, so that might be a problem.

How's new mommyhood treating you? I went back in the thread a bit and saw a photo, adorable!

I don't know if I'll be able to get this fixed or not and it's making me angry.
So here is my vent.
We were behind on campaign last quarter so my boss made me open a second checking account so we'd hit campaign. I did. I use it for "fun money" and it's really annoying having two debit cards, but so far I've not screwed up. I check everynight to make sure that I didn't use the wrong card, possibly overdrafting the account.

Tonight I did. I screwed up. When I opened the account, I didn't authorize overdraft protection. I didn't want it, because I didn't plan on using the account for much and knew if I checked everynight (like I did) and made a mistake I could just transfer the money to cover it, no problem.

Well my co-worker (GRRR!!!) who opened the account must've set up overdraft from my credit card! Which I did NOT authorize so my card got charged (which screws with my 0% interest on it) and i got a fee tacked on for the ODP swipe.

It pisses me off so much that my own co-worker did this without asking me. Clearly, I know how things work and if I'd wanted it linked for Overdraft, I would have told her to link it.

I know it's going to be heck trying to get the stuff fixed because I'm an employee, too. They won't want to take the loss to the branch to fix the mistake my coworker made! And they'll wonder why I never noticed before.

But I'm going to fight to get my stuff fixed! It makes me so angry.

Yes. And it screwed with a card I had 0% on for six more months-- with a regular 24% APR and a $1200 balance. (Which I have sitting in savings as my "back up" in case something happens before the 0% runs out.. but I don't want to use that money to fix this mistake!)

I'm ANGRY. IF.. and this is a big IF.. I'd wanted it linked, I would have wanted it linked to my main checking or my savings. Both of which have more than enough money.

I don't even work at my home branch again until Friday but it looks like I'll have to get up early to go in and make her fix it tomorrow because I don't think I'll be able to get the people in Marietta to do it for me. Or maybe I should try them. They might be more apt to refund the fees.

So I got (ANOTHER) letter from my college today. These people love to kill trees. They make me fill out the same forms, every single semester. I didn't manage to make the time deadline on the last one and I figured this letter was going to be a HUGE slap on the wrist or something.. because I never actually turned the paper in. Still haven't.

ANYWAY. Oh, how I ramble..

It was a letter to congratulate me on my...

SCHOLARSHIP!

It doesn't say how much it is for (I'll get an award letter in the mail, see.. tree killers!) but it was to congratulate me and remind me I should send a Thank You note to whomever is responsible for whichever scholarship I was awarded. Details to come.

I was so excited! I actually called my dad and was flipping out, because it's really all thanks to him. I've been denied scholarships/grants because of his income for the past two years. He encouraged me to go apply for the scholarship his company has with my college because THEY can't hold his income against him (1 recipient that is a child of an employee receives this every year) and when you apply for that ONE, you apply for ALL scholarships offered by local businesses.. so I don't know which I got, it might be his company scholarship for all I know.. but I'm so excited!!! I might not have to pull a student loan (or maybe I will and pay my car insurance a year ahead or something!? The possibilities are endless!)
