I wish I didn't read such negative comments about foot tattoos. I got the idea from a pic of Joss Stone. I think her foot tattoo is really cute. I'd want the same kind of thing, but in a water/wave design. (My friend with the tattoo sent me to the site where I first saw Stone's tattoo.) http://www.vanishingtattoo.com/tattoo/celeb-stone.htm I have to say, I DO love the DCL logo too!

The only downside is I'd have to wait because they say no chlorine or salt water for 2-4 weeks! I'd die with no beach all summer!

Vicki-- that picture of the lake is GORGEOUS! I want to go now! (Oh no!)

I was!!! I'll be posting more!!

FYI-tattoos on the ankles hurt! I got one there and on my shoulder and the ankle hurt the shoulder didnt. I am not trying to discourage you just prepare you.;)

Lauren and I went to a tattoo parlor while I was still down there living and got one across the top of her foot. She also has one on her ancle she got while we were still in high school up here. I was with her for both, and I think the one across the top of her foot hurt her much more... She hasn't had any problems with it, though. They just don't "guarantee" it so they won't touch it up if the color starts to fade-- they said it was because the skin on your feet regenerates so much.

They told me after a week I'd be okay to hop in the pool or whatever. It's just after it scabs over and peels-- which shouldn't take longer than a week!
Better not, I'm flying down to Orlando to see Greg 11 days after my appointment. I figured that would be plenty of time.

Vicki-- the pictures are great!!

Just wanted to say Hi Everybody! :wave2:

And Vicki WOW!! As usual - your pictures are incredible!! Looks like you had a wonderful trip. I really want to take the kids out west before they're not "kids" anymore.

Along the lines of tatoos - at Typhoon Lagoon a couple of weeks ago a life guard that was standing next to me in the wave pool was staring at a man and finally commented on how she saw all sorts of things working there. She was talking about a MAN with Disney tatoos ALL over his body, from head to toe, ALL Disney. It was interesting. :goodvibes

Hi Jessica!! Thanks!!!! We had a great trip!!!!! I really enjoyed it!

Wow Vicki! AMAZING pictures!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for sharing them!

Patsy, I wonder why there's such a discrepancy in the info regarding the amount of time the tattoo needs to heal. I researched it online and it said that it could take up to 4 weeks. Maybe that's for tattoos on a foot??? I'll have to ask at a tattoo parlor. Thanks for the information. Yours makes more sense. :rotfl:

I don't know, Lisa. :confused3

I'd call Lauren and ask her how hers is holding up (I mean it's RIGHT on her foot) but she's currently out of sorts. Her "highschool sweetheart" that moved down there with her and has been living with her the past two years had just up and left her to move back here. She's not really taking phone calls.

I always thought it seemed a bit strange to get them in the summer, especially with my parents having a pool.. but they don't use Chlorine, which is what most of the advice seems to be against. That stuff can reek havoc! I'm also rarely there anymore so it doesn't really matter anymore. I'll let you know how mine heels. It won't be on my foot, but close enough, right? :upsidedow

You should have Logan start drawing some stuff up, so you'll be ready! Maybe there will be a truly horrible week in the forecasts and you can pop and get a tattoo! Hehe. (Of course with how the weathermen work, the week will be gorgeous.. :rolleyes1 )

Anyway, the tattoo guy here said a tattoo is like slicing your knee open on the concrete. It's a wound. Once it scabs and peels, the skin has regenerated and you're back up to being as normal as ever (though some minor pain and stuff might still be there) He said they advise against submerging it because it'll keep it from being able to heal very quickly. Same thing, I'm sure, as how I couldn't get my scars wet for awhile after my surgery. Gotta give them time to do their thing.
He said they don't like chlorine because it's likely to strip the color out of your tattoo. Makes sense.

He's also from Florida! He used to do tattoo conventions in Miami and said he lived in Coco Beach for years, so I tend to think his advice on water is right-on!

Thanks for the info Patsy! I am guessing that it's because of the location that the healing time will differ....because of the regeneration process. If you think of it and have the time, would you mind asking? I haven't gone to any tattoo places yet. I know I'll either be scared to death or want one right then and there. :lmao: I'm crazy that way.

Keep us posted. I can't wait to see yours. Maybe it's time to have everyone post their tattoo pictures on our thread. What say you? :confused3

Is anyone else having trouble seeing smilies?
