I have my packing (purchasing) list for the cruise all done. I bought a couple items this weekend. Everything is listed and I will mark it off as purchased. Then I can print it off and use as a packing list. I am so excited!!!

The mickey rolling cooler came this weekend. It is a really good size and very nice. It will get lots of use going to football games, the pool, and the beach long before I get on the cruise.

Having a hectic week this week. Wanted to check in and say hi :wave2: Hope all is well :goodvibes

I hear ya!!! Here's some pixie dust that it doesnt rain on our day :wizard:

Call it crazy day for me again. Greatest accomplishment, teaching eldest DD her first sentence... Tad (the dog) bit Bob (the man). What a great first sentence 'eh~ weird if you ask me, the next one is definat4ely better.

Cooler weather is headed our way after tomorrow. I hope to get some outdoor things done, like washing our stinky dogs before it gets cooler. We'll see.

I'm glad you all are forward thinkers. I haven't even thought about what I want to pack. Just remeber, pack what you think you want and then take half of it out. I think I could've left a couple more prs. of shoes home too to make more room for souvies.

Just a thought, I read some where on the Magic dry dock thread that the bridge tour will no longer be avail. due to expanding the workout room if I am correct. PLEASE- correct me if I am wrong, as it states below I am partially blind and my brain isn't functioning well. I don't know the specifics of what's happening on the Wonder after our '06 cruise, but I'm for sure going to take the bridge tour this time around before its too late. Another thing happening to the Magic that may or may not happen to the Wonder is on deck 2 they are creating a kids play space. I guess deck two will not be as quiet as it once was. So, mental note for me, try not to book a cabin on deck 2 possibly on the Wonder and for sure on the Magic in '07.

Have a great night all!

**:earseek:Forgive me for any errors, I am working w/o my glasses and I cannot promise you 0 typing errors. :teeth:

Taeja you NEED a vacation!!! :teeth:

I would like to do the bridge tour also! Guess we better get it done this cruise! :sunny: I am really looking forward to the Champagne and strawberries!!! YUM!!!!!!!!

TaeJa: This is what I found:
2005 Drydock Plans
The Disney Magic will be in drydock October 1-14, 2005. During the 14-night Westbound Panama Canal cruise (May 14-28, 2005), Tom McAlpin, President of Disney Cruise Line, gave a presentation to passengers and mentioned that the following changes will be made to the Magic during drydock this fall:

A Jumbotron screen will be added on one of the stacks so that Disney can offer movie nights at the pool and multimedia presentations during deck parties.

The fitness room will be expanded by extending the floor out over the bridge, which will double the room for workout equipment.

Part of the Spa will be reworked to create more couples treatment rooms.

The conference rooms will be transformed into a kids' space with an interactive "bridge" that allows kids to pretend they are sailing and docking a cruise ship.

the conference rooms are on deck 2 so this will be an issue on the Magic when it comes out of drydock.

I don't see how you would be able to do the bridge tour so you probably would want to get that in while on the Wonder!

I have managed to coordinate my outfit plans around a pair of cute strappy sandals that have a manageable heel. my DBF got them for me while on a trip to Tenn. (isn't that sweet! ) I figure I can wear every night time outfit with those shoes. Since they are black and most of my wardrobe consists of black (very slimming color thankfully) I am set. Now I just have to get some outfits :goodvibes Can't wear some old thing in my closet :rotfl2:

For daytime some flipflops and sneakers. Plan on wearing swimsuit and coverup everyday. Just bring a couple pairs of shorts, a pair of Capri's and some tops. Need room for souve's :earboy2:

Taeja you NEED a vacation!!! :teeth:

I am dying for a vacation before December. I'll even take a weekend getaway with the kids. I just need a different environment even if its just for 24-48 hours! Hubby, are you reading this?

We went to the city and took pictures. It was fun.

As I watch the months change to less and less on our signature countdown I start to get antsy. I am a little frustrated because nobody in my travel party (other than my DS-6 :earboy2: ) is excited. I realize it's a while away but still! I think that two years of planning prior to booking has made this such an event for me. I originally wanted to book 7 nights but the funding just wasn't there and I wasn't comfortable with DS missing an entire week. This way he will only miss 3 days. So I can't really afford summer but I saving up to rebook while on board unless the 2007 rates come out and they are so low that I am forced to do so immediately. We will have to wait and see.

I have read many reports where the DH wasn't that excited to go but once he went he thought it was great. DBF is definitely only going because I want him to and it will probably be our first vacation together with DS. I know I am being humored. Did any of your experience this? Did your DH have reservations but then had a blast. Mine is not that into Disney and thinks by 8 DS won't be into it. My thoughts are HUH??? :confused3 When I was 8 I thought Disney was the top of the line vacation. The icing on the cake kind of vacation! I hope DS is interested well past 8!!!!

Sorry to vent. I absolutely love and adore DBF and he is probably the most loving caring man I have ever known besides my father. But not into Disney at 8?? I can't imagine not taking DS to do anything Disney.

So my rainy day here in SC :umbrella: has brought on a slight depression that I thought would be lifted by getting excited that we have 10 months on the countdown clock. No one else seemed to have the same appreciation for that :confused3

Kerry I know exactly how you feel. DS was the same way when I was planning DD first trip to WDW in 2003. I was soo mad I wanted to hit him. I would say do you want to do this? I got the standard answer I dont know. I even had to threaten him. I told him if he ruined it for her I would send him to daycare! :teeth: He ended up having more fun than he will ever admit too. Then when I was planning the next trip in June 2004 my brothers first time. I got the standard I dont know or no answer at all. I wanted to hit him too. In fact it got sooo bad I said cancel the trip and broke the glass out of my cellar door window! :rolleyes1

So now comes the cruise. DS doesnt wan to go so it's just the three of us-DH, DD and me. They seem to be into it and giving ideas on things to do etc. DD even wanted her our cruise book.(Birnbaums Guide to DCL) She is reading it and highlighting things she wants to do. She even has her own DCL planning video which she has watched too!! My brother is going, on his own, I asked him what excursions is he going to do-Standard answer I DONT KNOW! You know what I said "The h@#* with him. I am planning things my family and I want to do, so WE dont miss out and if he wants to do it too fine if not do what you want but I am having fun!!!!! He thought we were crazy for coming in Friday. I said why we are there if a god forbid Hurricane hits, or some other problem. We will spend a relaxing fun day at POR and then get a good nights sleep(if excitement doesnt keep us awake :teeth: ) and then head to port. To bad for my brother but I am not missing out on things I want to do!
So my advise to you is-If no one else wants to tell you what their ideas are or be excited then their lose. Forget them and make plans for yourself and your son then when they see the fun you are having they will be the ones who missed out and not you!!!!

10 more months!!!!! :cool1: :sunny: :Pinkbounc :grouphug: :wave2: :jumping1: :flower1: :dancer: :boat: :rockband: :thewave:

I'm trying to find a Wonder Woman costume for both of my girls. They're going as Wonder Woman and Wonder Woman's little sister. Kimi, the youngest asked if she could still wear her Sleeping Beauty dress. I'm freaking out b/c wonder woman costumes are outragiously priced- even for Ebay. I'm looking for deals every where I can think of.

Do any of you have any Wonder woman costumes laying around? I'm going to take my girls to the two party stores we have in town and look there as well. It's only the 6th of Oct. and I'm already having an anxiety attack :earseek:

Where is every one!? It's only 12:30 a.m. Don't worry, I'll be crashing soon. :faint:

I was the hesitant one to cruise DCL last year (maybe God should've made me a guy :rotfl: ). Me, being the pesimist that I am thought I wouldn't have a good time. I felt I'd be some what "stuck" watching the kids. I wasn't even thinking about the other ammenties, the food, what the ship had to offer, I was thinking of the kids. Any way, I also thought my DH would spoil the surprise of cruising since he kept telling me details off of Daves DCL tribute site. He'd tell me about the food and what was on the menu! I didn't think I'd like the shows either for some reason-can't remember why. I didn't think I'd be surprised once we boarded. I WAS WRONG. My whole perspective changed once I got past the gangway and they announced our names. Seeing the Wonder lobby was just the thing to get the chip off my shoulders. I wished we could've done more excursions, but due to our kids ages (2,3,4) at the time walking or sitting any where for long periods of time would've been impossible.

We're thinking about taking the kids to Atlantis or doing the dolphin thing in Nassau. Me, this time around I want to spend more time on the ship exploring. I didn't see the secret verandah or do any of the onboard activities like the bridge tour. Like I stated before, I plan on staying up later and waking earlier so I can see the sunrise (maybe) :smooth: or just explore the ship more.

I really think as the cruise gets going those who are hesitant or reluctant about crusing will soften up and change their minds. DCL is truly family and oriented. It's different thinking about a cruise on paper, web, video- whatever. Besides, most men's emotions are diffent than ours right ladies? My guy likes facts and figures and I want to see the proof. So, maybe that's what these guys need is "proof" of how great DCL is and can be. I don't know about other cruise lines, but for right now DCL is the best choice for our family despite the cost.

Kerry, try and think of excurisons Kevin might like to do. Maybe he'll want to do the sting ray thing at CC or maybe an excursion in Nassau. A nice bonding activity for the three of you would be good too. Even just being in the DCL arcade is fun. The games are a little old, but my kids didn't care. I was all goo-goo over Ms. Pac-Man. LOL! Guys think differently, try suggesting to Kevin to check out Davesdcltribute dot com. The site is a little dated as Dave is no longer updating his website, but there's some fantastic information/stats about both ships Kevin might want to check out. Maybe that would get his interest going.

All we can do is hope for the best as time gets closer and closer. So, here's a lot of PD for all our traveling family members :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard:

I'm crashing, good night all.

BTW- my kids are on Fall break, so, things are a little crazy around here during the day. :moped: We'll be resuming costume hunting tomorrow-:p .

Hope all of what I typed makes sense. At least, I hope my main thoughts came out. I feel like I'm cramming for a test, I'm so tired, but all I want to do is type type type-dang it! Thank good ness for my favorite "edit" button, if any thing, I'll edit things later today.....

O.k., I'm really signing off now. :wave2:

:hyper: I can't stop typing! Help, me! :hyper:
