What do you all think about combining pirate related goodies to make goody bags for every one? Wouldn't that be fun? Just a thought. pirate:

That a cute Idea!

That would work especially well if we buy from somewhere like Oriental Trading Company, which has bulk items. But would we be combining at the DIS meet?

Oh, dear, we slipped to the second page. Can't have that!

And, since I'm a question-aholic, I'll ask a question.

How much shopping do you guys think you'll do? Do you think you'll shop more onboard, or at one of the stops? Does anyone think they'll go to the marketplace at Nassau?

Yes, definately Oriental or dollar store or where ever. Vicki (purplern) bought stuff already from Oriental...Vicki, give us a report of how much your stuff was. Hmmm....combining at the DIS meet might be tricky. Maybe we ladies could meet some time the first evening and divie (??) out the goods to the other bags. What do you all think?

I think it would be hard to sort things out as we're supposed to be celebrating the sail away. Any thoughts? We could meet near the concierge desk (Isn't there a nice bank of seats and a couch in front of two port hole windows?). Ugh, that's what I get for being off the Wonder for so long. Any way, we could meet there at a certain time instead of raiding some one's cabin.

Sorry, its late. I just got off my stationary bike and I'm butt sore. Literally. Anyway, hope you can decipher my code above.

Speaking of deciphering. We got a new laptop today b/c Best Buy killed/junked the one we sent to the Geek Squad to repair under warr. Sent the thing in after Christmas and still hadn't had it returned. DH and I went in today and BB approved a replacement four days ago. They did call us 4 days ago of course. What geeks! phrase fits right? Any way, I gotta go to bed now. Good night all.

Dawn, thanks for bumping the thread! Shopping, I love shopping. That's why our bill was so high after we turned in our KTTW card. Ugh, you'll want to watch how you use your KTTW card. Its for every thing-worse than a credit card! Any way, we shopped more onboard than we did on land. The ship doesn't take cash (except for tips) or Disney dollars either (I'm 95% sure of that). I'm not sure how my MIL payed for her bingo cards either...:scratchin

Any way, just an idea, buy what ever extra toiletries you might need on land before you board or pack lots of extras. I didn't pack enough undies for my son and I wasn't about to pay over $12.for a 3pk on board. I ended up doing laundry.

Are you mom's going to pack your dd/ds's disney dress up clothes? I'm starting to look for new princess gowns for my girls on Ebay (of course) and disneyshopping.com. Every girl feels like a princess (even me). I won't be dressed up of course....that would be just weird.

O.k., logging off before I make myself appear more than an idiot than I really am. Good night.

Post soon all!

Well we were first married by a JP. Then about 5 or 6 years later we got into a big fight and I threw my ring at him and we lost it!(It was in a parking lot). So we got new rings and renewed by JP. Then when we had Amanda DD, and we went to get her baptized of course the Priest said we would all feel much better if we got married in a church wedding number 3. My Mum said that's it she isnt coming to any more weddings!

O.k., can you hear me saying...OOOoohh.

I think this is a great idea. We'd need to coordinate what's been bought already, and how many to buy, I would think.

ROFL! I would sooooo dress up if I could get away with it! I was just debating with my husband whether we should be splurgey and buy my daughter a princess dress for no real reason. He feels that it's an extravagance. :sad2: But I think I can put together pirate costumes from outfits we have around--we're a Renaissance Festival family, so I have some bits and pieces left over from last year that will likely work. Plus my DH is talking about working again this summer, so we'll need up-to-date costumes that have been outgrown. I'm thinking that if I claim that the pirate costumes are part of our Ren Fest costumes, I can get away with a princess dress too. princess:

My son just got a t-shirt from a friend that is basically a rib cage, so he's thinking along the lines of being a skeletal pirate. :p I told him that he couldn't get a scary mask for the cruise, though, because I don't want to be responsible for him scaring younger kids.

Renaissance family? Cool! I can't wait to see your costumes for sure. Maybe if I dress up too that will give me an excuse TO dress up. (<---Does that makes sense????Its too early!) I'll see what I can come up with. :teacher:

Yep.

I dont remember how much the stuff was at oriental trading but it was under 20.00 and was nice stuff too. I have tons of Pirate tatoos.

I just went to Oriental Trading.

I have 6 dozen tatoos. I will share my tatoos.

If you guys want I would be willing to buy something else too and share it. Let me know.

They also have treasure maps-2 dozen I thought would be neat didnt buy them yet. They also have pens with treasure maps in them.

Shopping WHOOOOO I love it. Wont be doing any at Nassau. But DH thinks I am crazy I set aside alot for shopping!!!!!! Probably just the Ship and CC and of course Downtown Disney.

pirate: I'm willing to chip in as well. Dawn (blackuni) if you are willing to just keep track of what's being brought (minimize duplicates), by whom, and keep a list or count of boy and girls that would work.

I'll buy the bling-bling (ring pops) and necklaces for all the kids. I roughly counted 30 kids. 13girls/ 17 boys.

thought-We'll need bags too.

Hi all, I think we have a pretty good group together now. I think it would be wise to start planning our DIS meet and finalizing our shirt design (heck, I might print out all of them!). Any way, Sept. will be here before we know it.

My only objection to meeting during the sailway party is finding every one and getting there. Being newbies, our family misssed our DIS meet b/c of having getting oriented to the ship and our staterooms. So, seasoned cruisers, do you have any suggestions? Kerry, what do you think? I'm willing to do whatever, but that's just my two cents of meeting so early. Does any one think we could meet in the terminal...oh ya, there's staggered boarding times now right? Grrr....

WHAT DO YOU ALL THINK?

My DS was in the hospital last week so I am just starting to catch up. If you answered this on other posts forgive me. I plan on being there early! If at all possible, lets meet at 2:30pm on boarding day. We could also schedule a meet for later than night.

Kerry, Do you have an updated list of linked diners? Do you mind posting it? It would be great if we could all dine together. I look forward to sharing w/ my fellow cruisers how I will be eating...oink oink. :rotfl2: I'm laughing at myself you know....

I have the list but due to the issue of not posting personal info, I don't want to put it up for all to see. I PM'd you with a solution. Your list has the icon for who's dining is linked so you could use my list to update the icon's. Hope that makes sense?? :confused3

I plan on shopping. My friend came back from her December trip with a knock off Coach bag she got in Nassau. Would have never known it was a knock off if she hadn't told me.

Kerry! Oh my gosh! Is he okay?

Eep!

Okay, then, I need an idea of who wants to participate. I know some of the older kids might feel it's too childish, but my 11yo (who will be 12 on the trip) thinks it sounds cool, so I can't be sure unless you guys tell me. I already know Vicki, Taeja, and me, for sure. I also want to know if you guys want a price limit. I really don't think we're going to have to spend a ton of money to get a lot of stuff. I'm also going to be nosy and ask anyone who's bought something already to tell me what it is. Also, if you have a suggestion for websites for people to browse for ideas of things to buy, please tell me and I'll put it in the post with the list. :thumbsup2

Vicki, I loved those pirate maps, too.

Taeja--now I'm nervous about our costumes, LOL. Don't have high expectations!
